Always clean, organized and not so crowded compared to other locations…read more I asked Amy for some very reasonable assistance at the self-checkout tonight and sadly she was extremely dismissive, a bit rude and kinda stormed off without helping me. Luckily Ray stepped up and was more than happy to assist with grabbing me a box while my hands were full. His customer service definitely made up for Amy's lack of. Hopefully management keeps this in mind when considering promotions. :)

Stopped by this Costco in Palm Desert to fill up on gas, and go inside (if not too crowded). Found…read moreit to be so less crowded than our neighborhood SoCal ones. Gas has reached over $6 a gallon now, so actively looked for a Costco while traveling from Palm Desert to Joshua Tree. The entrance to the gas station is not meant for high volume, with the eight lanes (4 islands, 2 pumps each so no need for parallel parking in a middle spot) having space for 3 individual cars behind. Once those fill up, there is no space except to go out to the street. Price was significantly less than the surrounding stations, and the paying/pumping was exactly the same as every other Costco (one tap if you have the Citi Costco card). We did go inside the Costco, with the mandatory membership card tap to enter. Once we got our few items, lines weren't too bad with additional checkers using hand held scanners to individually scan each item in the cart, eliminating need to have to put any items on the conveyor. It does make it faster...it's not Amazon Fresh that needs the RFID 'scan the whole cart at once' technology, but Costco. The food court is inside and wasn't too crowded, and would have stopped if we didn't have other plans. The $1.50 hot dog/drink special always tempts me.

I'll be honest--gas station food usually lives somewhere in my college survival era memories, so I was skeptical... but I'm always open to try something new. Right when we walked in, we were greeted warmly and treated with genuine friendliness and respect, which already set a good tone. Just to be clear, I'm writing this review purely based on the fried chicken and the service related to getting it. I didn't come for gas or anything else, so please keep that in mind. Now let's talk chicken. 5/5 -- no hesitation. We ordered the chicken strips along with wings and drumsticks, and wow. Super crispy, well-seasoned, and flavorful all the way through. Honestly? It rivaled Raising Cane's, which feels wild to say about a gas station--but here we are. Reddit did not steer us wrong. Most importantly, it absolutely satisfied my wife's fried chicken itch, and that alone makes this stop a win. Bonus points because my 9 month old daughter seemed to love it as well!! Unexpected, impressive, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and craving fried chicken. Would I come back? Without question.

I am not the type of person who likes to complain or leave bad reviews. I also work in customer…read moreservice as a waiter, so I know that there are days when it is very difficult to deal with difficult customers. This gas station in Palm Desert--the Tower Market located on Highway 111--used to be one of the stations closest to my home. Consequently, it was perfectly convenient for filling up my work truck, grabbing my fresh coffee, and picking up the burritos or sandwiches they had been offering lately. However, I have repeatedly encountered a sarcastic attitude from the manager whenever I ask about food items that have run out and want to know if they will be making more. In fact, I have even called ahead of time to order burgers or pastrami sandwiches, but it seems like they always get annoyed when I ask for those specific items. Furthermore, when the line gets too long early in the morning, there is invariably only one cashier working--even though you can see the manager sitting right next to the computers, right beside that sole cashier. It stands to reason that if there are more than 5 or 7 people waiting in line to pay, she should step in to help them. As a result, by the time you finally get to the front to pay, the cashier is already in an authoritarian and rude mood. They definitely need to take a closer look at the employees at this gas station and provide them with proper training on how to serve customers; after all, we are the ones spending our money there, and we deserve at least a little bit of empathy and a friendly greeting. In conclusion, I have stopped going to this gas station and will be returning to the Sinclair station located just two blocks away, where the customer service is much better!I
