My friend ordered a chicken sandwich, they claim to have the best one and he said in his 45 years of living, that was the best sandwich he has ever had. The date shake which is vegan automatically was delicious. I am going to try the Beyond Burger next time, which will be next week I love that there are vegan options at a gas station. The guy at the counter was super nice as well. Prices are reasonable except for gas of course, $6.45 a gallon but what do you expect? OMG, I have never seen crows as big as the ones there, what are they feeding them? rattlesnakes from cima road? chicken sandwiches? Holy cow, its like being in ALFRED HITCHCOCKS THE BIRDS.

I left Anaheim with only half a tank thinking I could make it to Vegas... turns out, I definitely could not. I started second-guessing myself and got a little nervous, so seeing this gas station at the exit was a lifesaver. Yes, the lines were long--both for gas and especially for the bathroom--but the cashiers were working fast and keeping things moving. Thank goodness for Apple Pay because checkout was quick and easy. Even with the crowd, I was in and out in about 10-15 minutes. Convenient stop when you need gas, snacks, and a quick reset before getting back on the road!

But we wanted to gas up a bit, for safety, so we stopped by. It is kinda small, cramped, harder to come in and out. But it's convenient and since distances are so big within the park, it's great to have it around, as a peace of mind. Paid with a credit card, no issues, convenient, onward to the next spot!

When I visit Death Valley I see two landmarks of extremes. The first is Badwater, which is the…read morelowest point in the Western Hemisphere. The second is the Furnace Creek Service Station Chevron sign which shows the highest point in gasoline prices in the Western Hemisphere. Normally $5.56 per gallon gasoline prices would raise somebody's temperature over and above the recorded 134 degree high in Death Valley. Here is an example of the extremity of their fuel prices. On March 28, 2013 The Tribune talked over San Luis Obispo County having the most expensive gas in California. Their average is $4.27 per gallon. That is over a $1 less than the price shown on the Furnace Creek Chevron sign. Fortunately we filled up in Pahrump, and laughed this off as a joke. The laugh factor of the high gasoline prices at Furnace Creek Service Station are the equivalent of the high calories at the Heart Attack Grill. They might as well promote it in souveneirs that say something like "I survived the highest gas prices." Normally I would reward highway robbery (my perception) with one star. There are a couple of reasons I am rating it two stars. Having a gas station in the noman's land that is Death Valley is the better option of no gas station. The gas price sign makes a good picture. In hindsight I could of stood in front of it for a temporary profile picture. I also like a joke. Some things are so obnoxious I take it as a joke. Whenever I return to Death Valley I will fill up the fuel tank in Pahrump, Nevada or Baker California. If I fill up the fuel tank in Death Valley, the joke will be on me.
