More often than not they are out of stock on things, even the most basic things. The staff are always willing to offer you a rain check ticket, which means having to plan/psych myself up/deep breathe my way into yet a second visit? Swell. The overall attitude seems to completely match that of the surrounding area which is "Well, we're all that's here, so whatcha gonna do about it?" This place gets a two stars from me because of the friendliness of the sparse handful of overworked staff, as well as some of the weekly deals that are offered. However, the fact that you can log on to apply those deals to your account - but can't place an online order for the same things on that site is ridiculous to me. The fact that they pair with Instacart, but will not honor your individual deals or coupons when you order through Instacart is ridiculous to me. The one time that I tried to go through Instacart to order with them, they were out of literally everything that I ordered. And had no date or idea of when they would be back in stock with any of it. How any business is still operating with so little convenience factor for their customers, especially customers with special need, is beyond me. Their attitude seems to be that it's up to the customers to meet THEIR convenience and schedule, not the other way around.

Well here's the thing, son. I'm a customer, If I ask you a question, you stop what you're doing and answer me. I don't give a crap about you and your saw, the customer is always right. So you basically admitted to ignoring me 4 times and gave me attitude to boot? You ain't talking to me that way again, boy. Decent beer selection, great selection vs everyone else in town. The food is pretty good for working out of an adhoc kitchen and having limited equipment but, they always miss things that are in their control. Eggs Benedict- eggs are usually overcooked. Last time I'd say they were at a medium state, most recently, pretty much hard boiled. Why serve this? Eggs Benedict is to have poached eggs as the description says on the menu. You didn't not notice the eggs were as hard as a hockey puck. Dinner menu seems to always miss something. Most recently Chicken lettuce boats served without the avocado and the turkey gyro was interesting with no seasoned shredded turkey and then the other gyro toppings. I had expected it to be the thin sliced gyro meat just turkey instead of other meat blend. Maybe this should be called a Turkey Pita? Coffee drinks are good and customer service is always good, especially for a small town.

I love discovering coffee shops when on road trips. I discovered Sanders last year when I was…read morepassing through Heber on one of my many road trips to Northern Arizona. I already had a couple of favorite coffee shops in Payson that I enjoyed stopping at. But after a few visits to Sanders, it also became a favorite for me on my drives. Sanders is owned by a couple and operates out of a small shop right off the main highway. Sanders Coffee + Co. has all your basic espresso and coffee drinks plus a few of their own creations. Their menu also has a variety of pastries, shakes and smoothies. My drink of choice on road trips is an Iced Latte no flavor. Their espresso drinks are smooth here at Sanders because they use Press coffee beans. Press Coffee is a local coffee chain in the Valley that sources quality beans and roast them in-house. For food, I have only ordered a pastry with my drink on a couple of occasions. The Malasadas and Cinnamon Rolls are pretty good. The shop itself is cozy with couches and tables to relax at and a small merchandise section. The parking lot can be tight depending on the day of the week. Sanders is a great coffee shop to stop at if you are passing through Heber-Overgaard. The staff is friendly and I always enjoy supporting local businesses. The order line can be a little long on busy days.

Inside is modern and clean, but their staff lacked any personality. First time I tried a cinnamon roll and their blueberry muffin. It was nice of them to ask if I wanted the pastries warmed up, they use a microwave to do so. The cinnamon roll was delicious, nice buttery bottom and perfect amount of icing. The blueberry muffin was a miss for me, not enough sweetness in the batter so the muffin was very bland and lacked much blueberry flavor. For coffee, I tried their local and squatch from their specialty lattes. Their espresso was smooth and not bitter, but the latte itself was lackluster. They both did not have enough syrup, very mild in flavor and mostly espresso forward. If you are looking for bold flavors, you won't get that here.
