First off I want to say we weren't there for a meal we came for a painting class which was great. The class is a three hour class so we decided to order some food. We ordered our food about 15 till one and then went on without painting, my son is a type one diabetic and took his medication when we made our order. About 130 I questioned our waitress on our order and was told the kitchen was very backed up even though the restaurant did not look that busy. Around 158 I told our waitress it was very important for us to get our food because my son was a diabetic I had already taken his medicine that takes effect within 30 minutes. I was then informed by the waitress that I should've told her he was diabetic and she could've got our food out to us faster which is ridiculous. When we finally got our food which was both burgers and fries the hamburger was so small compared to the bun I removed most of my bun. We will definitely go back to paint but probably not order food never my life have I been told that I need to tell them my sons diabetic in order to get our food within an hour and a half it was ridiculous. read more

I regularly eat here with my husband. We often go for the specials which are great! We love to sit at the bar and have a few drinks and talk with the other regulars. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. Love to watch a game and eat the bar mix! The food is good and the wings and cheese sticks are great. Chevelles holds the record - the best fried callamari & grilled duck I've ever eaten .... and the worst! The first time we tried this little place it was a gem. Perfectly cooked food and great service. A week or two later a friend told us he'd just gone & that his food & service were awful. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt & try them again, sure wish we hadn't. The duck I'd loved before was fatty, soggy, overcooked - just a mess. Our server seemed distracted or annoyed to be waiting on us & she disappeared several times during dinner, then dropped the large bill on the table as if she were doing us a favor. I remember when this place first opened years ago and thought it was great and they had a wide variety of options. Fast forward to the last 2 years when I moved to the area permanently, it really took a dive. The waitresses are always rude and seem to think their "good looks" will compensate for their horrible service. I am a vegetarian and they don't really have any options for me except for this sad pathetic idea of a salad with a bunch of random stuff in it (seriously there is different things in it each time I have had it). I remember they used to have a black bean burger, soups, etc. My husband has had their burgers and says they are pretty mediocre and dry and the fries are always cold. One time when we went we could see our food sitting at the take-out spot for minutes on end. I finally had to flag down our waitress to get it. I'm always hoping this place will turn around because it really used to be my go-to spot years ago, but in the end I leave disappointed. read more

Our party of 6 came to Chevelle's for Wednesday Wing night as we do almost every week. This week everyone was served their food and you could see most were steaming hot but I was unfortunately served wings that weren't hot and the centers were actually cold. I ate one and thought well maybe it's just this one and then the next two were the same so I asked our server for a fresh order. Our server came back and said kitchen said they would put my wings in the oven to get them to proper temperature and then put more sauce on them and bring them out to me. I declined and offered to pay for the three I ate as I could not believe this was deemed a plausible solution for the cold wings that was unfortunately served. I simply thought they would send me out a fresh order right out of the fryer for the mistake. Our group frequently eat at this establishment and usually the food is always good as well as the service but unfortunately not this time and I'm actually very disheartened by the way this was handled. I hope Chevelle's Murphy takes note of this incident and makes changes! I even spoke to floor manager about it and all he had to say was " yeah I head about that, sorry about that". Unbelievable! Maybe our group will have to change things up and check out other options until changes are made. I thought Chevelle's would have more pride in their food and service! I took my boyfriend to Chevelle's for Father's Day and ordered the prime rib. When they brought it to us you could not even tell what it was. It was gray and tough and cold and the potato could have been used in a baseball game. You don't send food back because you really don't know what your going to get then. read more

We are local and the choices for restaurants that serve alcohol are limited. The last 3 times we have eaten here the service has been a disaster. LONG waits, wrong orders, missing orders, etc. I will say that the wings are excellent, when you finally get them. I am totally rooting for this place to get their act together, but they appear to be moving in the wrong direction. The last time we were there I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager available. When I got home I sent them an email expressing my concerns. No response. Had a very bad experience today which is not the norm for this business. Waitress was totally off her game, many many mistakes, poor customer service, several issues with our dining experience, kitchen messed up order, etc. Lastly, Appetizer came out half way through meal and was not correct for order detail or quantity. the order was duplicated (doubled) and when pointed out to the waitress there was not much that could be done with the extra food obviously as they would have to throw it out if it was sent back so it was kept at our table. I ate part of it (2/3) then at bill time i was charged for the duplicated order. After pointing it out to the waitress she was extremely cordial about the mistake but the manager insisted that we pay since part of it was eaten. the manager was not the usual guy and did not even offer to come over to hear our complaint but rather just dictated an unreasonable stance from afar. the bill was hesitantly paid but as i explained to the waitress: penny wise, pound foolish. Being forced to pay for food i did not order means the business made $10 extra today but since i am a regular customer to the tune of about $1000-$1200/year income to the business, they lost $1200 over a $10 issue that should not have been an issue as i will never step back into the business. Regular management was not there but they obviously left the business in control of individuals with limited insight as to good customer relations skills and ability to show reasonableness in a simple situation. Again, this is not the usual quality service or treatment that the local community has come to expect from this establishment... very disheartening. read more

Second bad experience in a row at Chevelles. Horrible wait for food on both occasions. Two hamburgers and an order for nachos took over an hour to arrive at the table. This despite the town of Murphy hyping the eclipse crowd likely to descend on our town, so this establish which,was not even crowded, should have been more than ready to serve out food promptly. Great waitress who seemed embarrassed to work there. Can't say that I blame her. After our wait which I was duplicated by every other table there the food finally arrives. Burgers not cooked as ordered. Nachos undercooked without all ingredients. "Manager" comes over to table and is told service and food in unsatisfactory and offers to comp the nachos when entire order including beverages should have been written off. You can tell owners don't care because even restroom fascilities are inadequate for a tavern. Stand in line boys and girls because the owners are well aware that there is virtually no competition to take their monopoly on. I'm local. Been disappointed here numerous times and my friends, neighbors, and guests will never walk into this place again. read more

First of all the reason they get one star it's because of the beer. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had in the last 20 years which any of you Foodies out there would realize that's making a huge statement. We were there for an hour and 15 minutes before we received our meal of fish and pasta and then to top it off the mushrooms on my plate were cold the pasta was swimming in soup which I think was supposed to be alfredo sauce. The fish was lukewarm. What is also mention that a table of Two and a table of 8 that came in after us was served before us. the waitress was more apologetic then the lady in red who will later found out was the owner. She basically said that sometimes they take easier orders first before taking other orders instead of the tickets being made according to how they are placed. so according to the way I cook fish and most other people cook fish it takes about 15 minutes so maybe the other hour was to make the homemade pasta just kidding it was not homemade. So another lesson I have learned is to check the Yelp reviews before going because had we seen the two and a half Stars which happens to be the worst of the restaurants and Murphy we would have had the Chinese buffet. Let me also mention that we were there at 6 and they were not super busy at that time. the waitress told us it was the Calm before the storm that they were expecting a rush between 7 and 7:30 so you choose if you don't mind staying a couple of hours for bad cold food feel free to eat there. So as they say we've already told our 10 friends and family members. This was our one and only trip to Chevelles. read more

Pretty good for the area. Like to listen to local and upcoming bands, and hang with friends here. But service is not great. Takes forever to get even a drink order and I have been going for years so you would think they would treat the regulars that tip well better. I think there needs to be more emphasis on customer service, although I know people get drunk and act like asses but for those of us that don't, we shouldn't have to suffer for everyone. Also keep a count on what you order because i have had waitresses who have tried to add drinks to our bill so I write down everything I order now..mind you she no longer works there thankfully, but one rip off makes you cautious. In all I enjoy hanging with my friends there but definitely don't go during busy hours and expect good service. The owner does try to keep customers happy it is just a small town and finding people to work hard and honestly isn't easy. Solid bar food, good service, very acceptable beer menu and the only place open past 10 pm makes Chevelle's a must stop for anyone who doesn't go to bed with the sun. my family of 10 were on vacation and staying in murphy, nc and after a long hot day in july were looking for a place to feed 10 very hungry & starving souls. yelp guided us to chevells...the only place serving food & drinks & entertainment late at night. walked in....place was packed n band was playing great music...greeted immediately...taken to the very back to a large table n seated. waitress, with aon great personality, on us with menus right away & asked what we wanted for drinks. off she dashed n back right away for food orders. off she dashed with 10 big orders. within 2o mins the food started pouring out for the whole table...i was very impressed read more

went there the first time and the serve sucked and the food was awful, the bun was twice has big as the burger and only had about 6 fries on the plate. Went back about a year later to give it another try, again the serve sucked had to seat ourself's there was only one other table that had people in it. We waited about 10 minute's for someone to come to the table, turned out that our waitress was sitting at the other table bullshiting with other people that worked there. Food again was awful I had a sandwich and did get some fries this time but they were under cooked and very greasy. My wife had alredo that I would not serve to my dog, We could not even finish eating. Becareful, the one who serves you boozee, might call the local police when you leave. They would do alot more bussiness if they cut ties with the above. Little town, little secrets. I am about a once a month frequent customer. My wife and kids go in for Karaoke Night a lot. The food there in my opinion has always been 1st rate. With the fried calamari being tied with the best that I have ever had. The mozzarella cheese sticks are rich and creamy...not that prepackaged freezer style you get everywhere else. I even took the big plunge and tried the es-car-go. Was prepared very well, and I found them to be rather good. Not an all time favorite dish...but I can say that I tried them and was pleased. The Service on Karaoke night could be faster...but they are very busy during the mid evening hrs so a little patience should be expected on customers part. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is never a bad idea to call ahead a day or so and make seating reservations on busy nights. Will be a regular customer for the future. Good people....Good service....Good times. If I could give it a negative rating I would after working at this joke of a business and seeing what the do in the front and back of the house and behind the scenes- it is shocking that this place is still open. Good time is insane if u go to the location in Murphy be prepared to wait over an hour for food. Only staff worth a damn works at the hayesville location except for a couple in Murphy. But even then most of the decent employees have quit after being continually screwed over with not being paid having illegal things done with their checks including not paying for over time and having their checks be deducted 30/45 mins a day for "breaks" no one EVER gets in their 6-13 hour shifts. Food quality sucks- they have underage staff (family) bartending and drinking after hours (illegal much?) and heaven forbid u request a shift off because they will take u off the schedule for up to two weeks to "punish" you for not doing what they want u to do. Over priced drinks food is mediocre at best. Service if it is decent forget about food wait time u will be there forever. Owners don't care as long as they are stealing money from their employees and having their high standard friends fawning over their crappy restaurant. Smh I never right bad reviews but this is necessary. PLEASE spend your money ANYWHERE else BUT this location in Murphy and if u do want to go to chevelles for decent tasting wings for to the one in hayesville as it's at least much faster with better staff and higher quality food (probably because the owners are rarely at THAT location so they can't jack it up with their idiotic ideas) read more

We were at this restaurant on Wednesday night, as we have been every year since you opened. I will have to say it was the most awful experience we have ever had in any restaurant. Our nacho was burned, dry, contained very few ingredients. We ordered, and were there waiting for almost two hours. Our wings arrived, undercooked and cold. My husband's Guinness was flat and way the wrong color. Our waitress offered us a free dessert......ONE dessert to be split among four people. We declined the spoonful of dessert each. When I approached the person who appeared to be in charge, he said he would check with the waitress...was my word not enough? When the waitress returned to our table, she had applied a 5% "senior discount." Thanks, but we ARE seniors, so, that was no discount. The large group beside us came in an hour after us and got their food right away. A woman was sitting near us vaping her cigarette. Nothing was said to her. Horrible experience. If things don't change, I predict that this establishment will close by year's end. Truly sad, since it used to be one of our favorite places. read more

I am a local resident and visit Chevelle's mostly because there is not a lot of choice for nightlife in Murphy. I find the staff (waitresses and bartenders) to be very friendly and accomodating. The management, who also happens to be the owner, is almost always rude and has a terrible attitude. For example, recently, as I paid my bill, she rang up my order, processed my debit card and, when I wrote in the amount of the tip on the receipt paper, she asked me "Are you sure that is enough for a tip?" I was so stunned by her brash comment that it took me a few minutes to realize exactly what she meant. On another occassion, when making reservations for an event, the same owner answered my call and seemed bothered by the entire notion of having to stop whatever she was doing to take my reservation. Not sure what her problem is, but she is the problem.......not the staff, not the food, not the bands that play there. Once the new casino comes to town maybe she will appreciate her local customers a bit more. read more
