Pierre Sang was pretty good. This was the first time I've done a "blind tasting" where they…read moreencourage you to guess the ingredients used. I liked this and I had fun puzzling it out with my friends. We did not do a very good job! It was hard to guess the ingredients and I think they purposefully try to fool you a little. I have photos of each course but I don't remember all the details. We had 6 courses. There was a small starter of a bao bun; mine was markedly less filled than the others on the table, so the proportions were off and I felt shortchanged. Then we had a fish course, a course with savory ice cream and some bread (like cornbread), a mushroom "pate" course, a cheese course (one big slice of cheese), and dessert (ice cream and apricots?). I felt like everything (taste, texture, ingredient quality and variety) were good but not great, especially since they are making things easier on themselves by doing fixed menus. Staff tried to explain what all the dishes and ingredients were, and they did good but not great job. They spoke English but didn't always know the English words for specific ingredients. The ambiance was fine. We were at a long, narrow communal table on the first floor just next to the kitchen and the door. It was a little cold from people coming in and out and a little busy with all the staff moving around. It wasn't the most refined or relaxing atmosphere.

We had an amazing experience at Pierre Sang, unlike any dining experience we have ever had. We went…read morefor my husband's 50th birthday and it was such a treat. Everything was innovative and delicious (I'm sure the menu changes regularly). They accommodated my gluten allergy and I had the best gluten free bread that I've ever had (made fresh just for me!). We had an outstanding server who taught us a ton about interesting wines as we opted for the wine pairing too. I read some reviews about price point, but it was much cheaper than Prix Fixe in SF, Chicago and NYC where we dine regularly and the portions were big. The vibe was cozy and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood before hand.

This place has that scrappy energy in the best possible way--servers switching effortlessly between languages, bartenders pulling double duty, and everyone working with heart and hustle. They got some strong American diner vibes with authentic french food and wine. We started with a bold and unique Chenin Sous Voile from Domaine Jousset--dry, nutty, and layered like a white port's sophisticated cousin. Highly recommend for anyone looking to drink something memorable. For mains: The flank steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, and full of flavor. Modest portion, but just right considering the quality. The lamb tourine was a standout--fall-apart tender, moist, and rich without being heavy. The sauce was made for mopping up with couscous, and paired beautifully with our carafe of Syrah. Everything was balanced, thoughtfully plated, and delicious without being flashy. Portions and prices were modest, which left room to explore the menu. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you're in Paris--not just visiting. Cozy, charming, and quietly brilliant.

Shops, boutiques and restaurants galore! In this eclectic neighborhood you'll find this little gem, Boa & Me. One look at the menu and it's clear to see this is far from the ordinary. Burgers nestled in between Pillowy Boa buns. Not adventurous enough for you? How about a red or black boa bun. Now if you're feeling really dangerous, you go for the ramen burger. Yes....a burger with ramen buns. Fir this you go straight for the knife and fork. There's so much going on here that I can't even identify half of the ingredients. This is easily One of the more flavor intense bombs ever detonated in my mouth. In one of the culinary capitals of the world, Boa & Me stands out and paved it's own path. A must try!

Now - to the real reason you're reading this - the baos and burgers! We ordered though Bao Aki (which had truffle and brie) and their winter special, Rusty Raclette (hashbrown instead of a bun/bao, beef, caramelized onions, and arugula). The integrity of both bao and hashbrown patty held up nicely! - The hashbrown "bun" was crispy, just like a McDonald's hashbrown in California (Never had McDonald's in Paris so I can't compare) - You can eat the Rusty Raclette with a fork and knife and all the ingredients will definitely stay together. - The bottom side of the bao in Bao Aki never got mushy from the sauce. Would definitely come back and try other burgers if I'm ever in Paris again. My only complaint is the chopped up cilantro in the burger patty of the Rusty Raclette #teamnocilantro

I opted for a glass of sauvignon blanc to pair with my 6 course meal. I enjoyed each and every course. Though the courses visually looked small I found myself very full. Everything was so finely made and so pure and the flavor exploded in your mouth!! It's seriously quite the experience for any foodie!! If you are remotely in a hurry or want a large amount of food, do not come here. If you want to experience course made perfectly and appreciate the presentation, there is no better place to eat dinner over 2 - 2 1/2 hours!! This is your dinner, show and after party wrapped in one!! The service by the way was incredible as the chef explained every dish himself and gave us a preview of what to anticipate next...5 stars without reservations!!
