Bao + Burgers = MIND BLOWN We ordered the "chicken burger" and "five spices" burger and were very impressed. The restaurant had a cool small vibe with shared tables and a view of the Canal Saint Martin. Definitely want to make sure I come back the next time I'm in Paris.

I thought the this place was okay. I had the five spice bao burger with sweet potato fries and the risotto croquette. The croquette was tasty but I wish it was accompanied by some kind of dipping sauce. I found the flavors in the bao burger didn't compliment each other. Something was off about it. I really like the concept though, it reminded me of, The Bun Shop in LA. Moving on, the sweet potato fries weren't the best I've had. I'm a big fan of sweet potato fries, and I was just happy these weren't oily. They had a slight crisp but not enough. The dipping sauce for it was okay. There is potential here. I would suggest they add more dipping sauce options, reinvent their five spice burger and add more meat options like pork belly. You can't go wrong with pork belly! This shop is small so come early unless you don't mind waiting. The place was packed 30 mins after the doors opened. And for my fellow Americans, the servers did speak some English.

Mega awesome address! This is barstool, Asian-American fusion food like you'd find on one of the American coasts yet there's still something delicately Parisian about the place. The menu is delightfully tight and every items sounds delicious, from the bento and bobun to the inventive burgers served on steamed rice-flour buns. After oohing and ahhing and asking the waiter what was best, he replied without any attitude that everything was delicious but the bento was one of his personal faves. So I went for it. And it was fabulous. The chicken was marinated in some teriyaki spice sauces and slow cooked so that the meat was super tender but moist, the steamed broccoli and mushroom medley was great and the rice perfection. At the cash register to pay I ran into an old acquaintance from NYC, a very famous pastry chef who was dining with her husband and they were freaking out about their burgers and even said it was the BEST BURGER they had ever had. Coming from a New Yorker, that was a statement. I must go back to try them now.

Surprised by this cute little spot. Wanting a break from all the French food we had been trying we rushed up here for lunch. The food was delicious, the spot was quaint and the service quick. I really liked the risotto croquettes , it was full of flavor and crispy. We almost ordered a second helping if it wasn't for us all already ordering a side of fries each. The fries needed some more seasoning to them but they were pleasant, sweet potato fries. the burger had an asian seasoning to it, with some oyster sauce maybe which was nice because we weren't expecting that. We quickly finished our burgers and it took a while for us to get any service help with grabbing our tab. the small restaurant filled up quickly with people being turned away due to not having enough room.

Baozi steamed buns seem to be all the rage in Paris at the moment so had to go check out an 'in the know' place. The Asian fusion food bar Siseng by Canal Saint Martin (probably my favourite part of all of Paris) to be precise, for their unique take of Bao Burgers. Bao Burgers. A new concept on me, but all the talk in the Parisian food scene. Chinese spices, Japanese style technique, and Thai condiments. What's not to like?! Were you a Ginger spice? Maybe you were all about Baby Spice. Or perhaps you liked a bit of Posh. Well why settle for one spice. Have all 5 of you can. Spice up your life! 5 Spice Bao Burger: beef patty marinated with 5 Spices, tamarind & caramel sauce, tempura onion rings, onion confit, spinach and arugula leaves. Also had a Kai Bao Burger too: panko crusted chicken fillet with a coconut milk sauce, red pepper marinade, homemade slaw and fresh basil. Chinese spices, Japanese style technique, and Thai condiments. What's not to like?! Tora! Tora! Tora! and Siseng a particular fav from the cocktails. Shrimp croquettes, vegetable tempura and sweet potato fries. With some excellent sauces too. Liking Siseng a lot as it's different from what you get in Paris. Dare I say it but there's a hipster scene in Paris?

Veggie bao burger with sweet potato fries

I came to Siseng on a Wednesday night with two friends at around 8pm. We ended up waiting outside in the cold for almost 45 minutes before enough seats freed up for us. I got the tofu burger and a side of sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious. It is served on the softest bao bun, and the tofu and seaweed was salty and great. It could have used something with a bit of crunch, but otherwise was really good. The fries were fine. I'm not the hugest sweet potato fry fan...I just think regular fries are so good that you never need sweet potatoes. So maybe I'm not the best judge of these, but I think they could be better. They weren't served very hot, and they were just a bit thick and not crispy enough. The sauce they came with though was really amazing (m If they cut the fries a bit smaller, fried a bit longer, and added something a bit crunchy to the veggie burger, then this place would be a solid 5. The service was very friendly (we always had a new carafe of water without asking), the place is cute, and it's in a great part of town.

It was a really interesting and innovative way to eat a burger. The combination of the bao and the beef marinated in some asian flavors was perfect! The chicken burger wasn't as good but still worth it. And the sweet potatoes fries were good. The menu is at 15€ for burger + soft drink + sweet potato fries. It was lunchtime on a weekday but the place was very crowded so come early and don't seat at the table close to the door if you can because of the people coming in and out all the time.

Beef burger, very good

Got the beef Bao burger and the risotto balls, the risotto balls were okay, not worth the money. The Bao burger was definitely unique, and worth the try. It is definitely modern Asian. Overall, I think this place is good, but expensive. Takes credit cards, no wifi

Very cool place, little family business. I had the Bao Burger Beef 5 Épices with sweet potato fries and the house drink of the day. The burger tastes very good, the 5 spices seasoning really adds a lot to the meat, the chinese bun is also good. The sweet potato fries are really good and the drink of the day was a homemade green ice tea with some syrup and ginger ale, very refreshing!!

Siseng is a fusion Asian restaurant with a small but well thought out menu they have bao burgers, noodle dishes, croquettes, and spring rolls. I ordered the 5 spiced beef bao and black bean noodles which was so flavorful and delicious. I honestly have never tried anything like this expect maybe pork bao sticky buns. The bao bun is so soft and a light, the mixture of spices/sauces that they use to make the burger is pure perfection. This restaurant is a must try to say the least. The noodle dish was also amazing I honestly loved everything on the menu. The location is a little small so it definitely provides an intimate setting but the decor is super hipster and chic. Try to come early to avoid waiting in line but I promise you will be beyond satisfied with your experience here.

Best burger in Paris

I loved the Asian fusion burger in Paris. It was really interesting and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed the Risotto croquettes and sweet potato fries (can't go wrong with that). It is a departure from all the food that you get accustomed to in France. You must get steak frites, mussels, escargot and pastries when in Paris but if you are craving something different, def worth the visit!

5 spice burger with sweet potatoe fries and homemade iced black tea with chrysanthemum syrup.

This place is so good, I had to eat here twice on a recent trip to Paris. I had never really understood Asian fusion cuisine but this place definitely hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed the lunch special for €15. It came with burger, sweet potato fries and a homemade drink. The bao bun and 5 Spice Sauce took me back to childhood memories of eating steam bao buns for snacks after school. The veggies on the burger gave it a nice crunch. I savoured every single bite of that burger. The sweet potatoe fries were soft on the inside crispy on the outside. It came with a sesame seed peanutty sauce that was sweet and tangy. I did not miss the ketchup with my fries or the pickles on my burger. And I love my pickles and ketchup. This place was so good, it was my good bye Paris meal. We were driving from Marseille back to Paris and made sure that we had enough time to pick up a few burgers before they closed. On this meal we had two 5spice burgers and 1 chicken burger. The chicken burger had a nice breading on it that made it crispy but not greasy. The coleslaw added a nice crunch on it and also served as a creamy dressing for the burger. My tummy was smiling after this meal.

Beef burger

i was so excited to come here for asian fusion burgers and the bao buns. But I have to say it was a little disappointing. We legit waited over 30 minutes for our food, which doesn't make sense when your waiting for fries and a burger. The sweet potato fries were great! But the bun wasn't sweet, soft, and fluffy like I hoped. It was pretty thin and you couldn't really taste it. I got the 5 spice beef burger and the way it was marinated was good, but nothing to be crazy about. it was an interesting asian flavour for a burger though. The onion ring inside also didn't add much. However, I would come back to try the other things. The tempera looked really good and they also had curry and noodles that intrigued me.

Bao burger, sweet potato fries prawns ball and mix drink with aloe Vera... AMAZINGLY GOOD!!!

Happened upon this little gem exploring Montmartre!…read more Super cute interior and welcoming staff greeted me as soon as I opened the door. The place was incredibly busy, and I was offered a seat at the bar. Water was served immediately, and handed a delightfully single page organized menu! Service was very attentive. I ordered: Aperol Spritz- which is the best one I have ever had! Edamame-as a starter. Veggie Ramen And mochi for dessert. The Ramen came out first which I was puzzled by, asking if I had ordered the edamame and a female waitress said yes it was on its way. She handed me an oversized bib to wear while eating my Ramen. It was absolutely adorable with fun graphic on the front. There were 3 different sauces you can add to heighten the spice of the ramen. And oh my heavens it was so good! Completely fresh ingredients.. a mountainous amount of veggies (no skimping here!) and all for 10€! Impressive! I couldn't finish it all, with the edamame arriving shortly after... but still managed to order dessert. Two mango + 1 cacao mochi. So darn good. I left incredibly happy, and full, and importantly with a smile on my face. Both the waitress and bartender/manager Thomas thanked me for coming in all with smiles! I will definitely be returning my next trip to Paris! I want to try the fish bao! And other cocktails that looked enticing!
