don't be fooled with the star rating. low star reviews are very old and left by non-elites with only few reviews in their life time. it's little bigger than hole in the wall but place was clean, plenty of seating options and variety of menu to satisfy. my Sat visit, place was packed. sweet lady at the front took my order promptly. looks like its mom and pop store location which I'm all for supporting it. when it's run by owners, they do their best to keep the customers happy. Being from Philly, I've had a few cheesesteaks to compare Chester's to. Chester's in Aurora makes a pretty good cheesesteak. I had an "Original" (steak, American cheese, and onions), fries, & soda. The steak, cheese, & onions were excellent. The fries were hot & crispy. If they had access to Amoroso's bakery rolls, this sandwich would be a 5 Star+. I give it 4 1/2 Stars. I am impressed with CPGrill. I ordered a couple of Philly Originals with a side of sweet potato fries and O-rings. The sammies were loaded with meat and grilled onions (not too many onions - just right) and the o-rings were great. The sweet potatoes were good but could have been fried a minute or two longer. Tried this place for the first time tonight and I wasn't as impressed as I hoped given a lot of the other reviews made it sound amazing. Now the food was very good, but I think it's way over priced. $3.50 just to add fries and a drink I think is too much so I passed on that. The inside was quite dirty. Trash on the floor, tables were so dirty and sticky I left and ate in my car. The young lady taking orders is sick and coughing every 5 seconds, hope she gets better soon but it's not what I want around my food. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Guys could be a little more friendly, eff it...a LOT more friendly. While we ordered, the cook and cashier stood there with blank and apparently irritated looks on their faces as we figured out what we wanted. It took us maybe 2 minutes tops. Strike one. Secondly, there was no suggestions offered during our decision making process. Some people scoff at this as being, "you're an adult, figure it out" kinda thing, but it DOES build repore and establishes some form of trust for first-timers. Strike two. Well the sandwiches were as expected. They were tasty enough to calm the hunger, but not as good as a few other places I've been to: Taste of Philly, Pat's, and Abo's. But overall, as I've got to give credit, the sandwiches were tasty enough to compete taste-wise, but not rise above the competition. Overall, if the atmosphere was more inviting (including the staff), and the selection was just a bit more robust (since two formerly offered menu items were merely blacked out on the menu instead of being removed, thus not conjuring an, "I wonder what those were/why aren't they offered anymore" response), this place might be more on the map. The house special steak sandwich is delicious. I highly recommend it. On another day, I ordered their supreme burger. There was nothing supreme about it. It was cooked charcoal black and I had to return it to get another one. It was okay. If you visit here, get their steak sandwiches. No other place compares. For hamburgers? This place tastes amazing, and you can choose which topping you have in your philly just like any other place! Atmosphere- Small cute place, just like most Philly places I've ever seen. Everything was clean and inviting! Service- The employees were great and personable. Very friendly, and it was also quick. Food- Holy smokes my sandwich was amazing; just hearing and smelling it as it was cooked was almost torture because I couldn't wait to eat it! I CHOSE to get the philly with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and pickles; and I'm very happy that I did. Food was incredibly hot and I really liked that I could see the chef cooking it. Price- Perfect price point! 8 dollars for a sandwich that fed me twice and left me stuffed both times. Chef David is a perfectionist and will not serve his customers nothing but the best. Place to go for philly's and so much more. My husband and I come here often typically calling ahead for takeout. We are "the works" fans and let me tell you, that is plenty of food for anyone. Huge philly with peppers, onions, mushroom, lettuce, tomatoes dont forget the diced pickles. They really make the difference. The service is always great and the food comes out hot a delicious. What more do you need? We discovered last visit they have great wings too. I'm pretty sure anything you order from the menu won't be disappointing. Just try not to eat all the fries on your way home.
