I've always had strong experiences with NewYork-Presbyterian, so I came in expecting that same…read morelevel of professionalism and care. This location did not meet that standard. The doctors themselves were solid. The OB/GYN who cared for my wife stood out. Professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. Dr. Kevin Molyneux also made a strong impression. He was focused, clear, and took good care of my wife. Where things fell short was with the overall staff experience. Bedside manner across much of the team was lacking. Interactions felt dismissive at times, especially in the emergency department. Basic coordination also needs work. Housekeeping was requested multiple times and never showed up. Communication between shifts was inconsistent. There were gaps in handoffs and documentation, which made it harder to understand what had already been done and what came next. The facility itself feels dated and doesn't reflect the standard I associate with NYP. I'm giving 3 stars because the doctors delivered where it mattered most. But based on this experience, we would choose a Manhattan NYP location next time.

I was directed here by urgent care on 2/16/25 because I was vomiting profusely and experiencing…read moreextreme stomach pain and diarrhea. I was seen quicker here than at Urgent Care. Go figure! Long story short, they admitted me right away took my vitals, took blood and stool specimen and diagnosed me with norovirus. The care was wonderful. My nurses Kelly and Monica offered superb care. However, nurse Diana tried to get me to take my thyroid medicine with apple juice because I was out of water and she seemed reluctant to go refill the water pitcher. Also, when I told her I was hungry because I had been throwing up all day, she told me they only serve breakfast on that unit and the rest of the day the patients don't get anything to eat; however, she said she could give me snacks such as a pack of graham crackers, jello or jello pudding, apple sauce, and apple juice. Mind you, most of those items would extend the diarrhea and not bind it. I later found out the following day that what nurse Diana told me was not true. They did, in fact, serve three meals a day on that unit; however, the food was definitely something to be desired. I wondered why no one put in a special diet for me since most of the food items on the menu would exaggerate my condition. So, I picked what I could eat and left the rest. The transport staff was nice and the x-ray technicians were great as well. I would receive updated notices on my phone of my test results which allowed me to ask my nurse and doctors to interpret them for me so that I could understand them in laymen's terms. The rooms were well kept and clean and I was given warm blankets in both the ER and in my room when I requested them. I am grateful for the nurse's assistant Shauna and everyone who interacted with or cared for me during my stay at the hospital. My situation was very critical because I went from being fine to being severely dehydrated in a matter of hours from the norovirus but these people took great care of me all along the way and I only had to spend two days and a half in the hospital.

Very surprised at the level attention and care at this hospital when my wife visited the emergency…read moreroom and stayed in the hospital for a bit. Maybe having a nursing school at the hospital fosters a great care giving culture. All of the staff was very friendly. The hospital itself looks like there hasn't been any renovations since the 70s. The rooms are disgusting and never ever get cleaned. It'll be dirty when you get there and then you'll stay there for days not seeing it get cleaned even once. That's probably why the rooms often reek of human feces, especially since the staff will just leave piles of human feces sitting in the room for you to smell. The nurses gossip about patients like a bunch of chickens, often even gossiping about patients with other patients. They are constantly violating HIPPA right in front of your eyes. You'll lay for hours in extreme pain, and need to bug and harass multiple people multiple times just to get medicine that gives you an hour of pain relief. You won't be able to get any sleep because of the noise of the patient next to you snoring like a grizzly bear and the patient in the hall screaming "help me" and "I want to die" for DAYS on end. You'll need to beg to see a doctor, in fact at night there's actually usually only one doctor in the entire hospital. You'll wait days to just to get a quick minor surgery because they lack the ORs and staff to take care of the patients in the hospital. They will not let you transfer to another hospital and will threaten you if you try to leave just to get you to stay. Do not come here under any circumstances, even if it is an emergency. You're better off dead than staying here.

All the staffs including Nurse Brittany who worked with me in the morning at the ICU made the pain less painful for me; The Caribbean American nurses that worked night shift with me at 4E floor were very helpful and encouraging, they emptied my urinal for me. May God bless you all. I will not forget to add that NP Maria Dedios is a great member of the team. She always makes sure all necessary notifications to my job or WCB and referrals are done promptly.
