NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital - Hell...

I've always had strong experiences with NewYork-Presbyterian, so I came in expecting that same…read morelevel of professionalism and care. This location did not meet that standard. The doctors themselves were solid. The OB/GYN who cared for my wife stood out. Professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. Dr. Kevin Molyneux also made a strong impression. He was focused, clear, and took good care of my wife. Where things fell short was with the overall staff experience. Bedside manner across much of the team was lacking. Interactions felt dismissive at times, especially in the emergency department. Basic coordination also needs work. Housekeeping was requested multiple times and never showed up. Communication between shifts was inconsistent. There were gaps in handoffs and documentation, which made it harder to understand what had already been done and what came next. The facility itself feels dated and doesn't reflect the standard I associate with NYP. I'm giving 3 stars because the doctors delivered where it mattered most. But based on this experience, we would choose a Manhattan NYP location next time.

I will never forget the terrible treatment and attitude towards me when I had never seen this…read moredoctor before. In point of fact, I saw his assistant that Doctor spent three minutes with me and then charged my insurance full price. Something about male doctors seems to want to make them treat women less than human, just like the patriarchy we live in. We don't care how many stars they bought for themselves, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had at the doctor ever and that's saying something. Johnny here my wife is not a liar. She's telling you the truth. We suppose it depends on the doctor but one visit to this place was enough! Incredibly rude, unprofessional and the way they spoke to my wife I felt like punching them, but I don't punch people. I'm a big guy and I could hurt somebody. We don't believe in violence as a solution to anything, but sometimes yes, we get angry.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. the ER staff and nurses are the rudest I've ever come across…read morein my life. I work in the medical field and have NO idea how it's acceptable. When someone is in an emergent state and worried, you want to be surrounded with compassionate and caring people, and I experienced the complete opposite. My husband needed to come here and although he was the patient, as his wife, I figured I'd get some sort of greeting or direction as to where I should/could wait. Not one person spoke to me throughout the entire visit. I had to be the one to say "have a good night" when leaving to each person. I understand hospitals have strict restrictions on visitors still but there's a way to let someone know that. They called my husband to the back to get his vitals done and I wasn't sure if I could go with him or not, so I followed behind him and asked "can I come or should I stay" and the RN rudely said "have a seat" and slammed the door in my face. The nurse eventually came to get me and just said "come" and brought me to the "room" my husband was in. It wasn't even a room, it was a chair in a hallway. The doctor was nice but he didn't introduce himself at all, he just approached and I was confused and had to look at his name tag to figure out why he was approaching and speaking to us. Long story short, avoid this place.

What an incredible team of doctors and nurses here - we owe you all our gratitude: I want to thank…read moreDr. Chan for his surgical expertise, and also Dr. Cleminson for next day sling and splint care, and EVERY SINGLE NURSE including: Kim, Vio, Suzanne, Fatamata, Koleen, Marta, Nancy, Thailys, Jackie, Carol, and Esther. I apologize if I have left anyone out - you were all loving, helpful and patient - this is the best hospital around! Our situation: My husband fell down our stairs and I rushed him to our local St. John's Riverside Dobbs Ferry ER. He had fractured ribs and a broken elbow. He was immediately cared for by the ER staff and nurses who took tests calmly and compassionately - I was so relieved we chose to go there for emergency care. They admitted him to their main floor where he stayed overnight and the next morning they scheduled his elbow operation for later that day. Dr. Chan is an amazing ortho who spoke with us to describe what was needed and he put my husband's elbow back together, and then reported to me that all went well. My husband stayed that night and in the morning I took him home. We haven't stopped telling our family and friends about the extraordinary care he received here - WE CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH, but we CAN thank God you are here!

On Monday night at around 11:30 pm I was transported by ambulance to the ER with severe shortness…read moreof breath and dizziness. I spent the next 12 hours in the ER while waiting for a room. They gave me a battery of tests, blood labs, chest Ex Ray , EKG. When they determined that my Hemoglobin was severely and critically low they were expecting to find some kind of internal bleeding. Their thoroughness found out that I had a urinary tract infection coupled with my diabetes, my anemia and some of my diabetic meds were adding to my severe anemia condition. They immediately put me on antibiotics and started to withhold some of my other meds because I needed to stabilize my blood. They gave me 1 blood transfusion that did not improve anything. After 2 more transfusions my blood improved tremendously. I would be remiss if I did not praise the staff. Mark the technician in the E R was great. The nurse and ER doctor were very attentive, methodical and reassuring. When I got to a room later in the day I was amazed at the nurses and techs and how they were a team and exemplified caring for patients. At this stage of my life I have been in hospital situations over the years and White Plains Hospital should get ten stars. Thank you Mark, Megan, Michelle, Rachel, Pam, Julianna and Dr Alon the attending physician. Thank you ER staff. It was determined that I had a UTI that sent my blood to go too low. They let me go home but I have to check within a week to sure the infection is gone.As I said before 10 stars not 5. Sal E. New Rochelle

I would like to commend the ER doctors and nurses at White Plains Hospital. They were phenomenal…read more They were patient, kind, knowlegeable and compassionate!! I gave 3 stars because of them!! However, the transport tech and other lower echelon staff,in addition to "SECURITY," need professional development and etiquette training. To put it mildly, they are simply GHETTO and unprofessional. They escalate situations when they should be trained to de-escalate!! The area is also DIRTY!!
