Chocolate Butter Cake served with vanilla ice cream and candied pecans. Delicious!!
Jill F.

The food is very good - especially the crabcakes! We started off with the soup - my husband had the gumbo, which he deemed just okay. I had the cream of crab soup which was excellent! They bring out a variety of breads - a couple of rolls, a couple of muffins and a couple of croissants - so delicious! We had the crab stuffed mushrooms, which were a little dry, but still tasty. My husband and I each had the broiled seafood platter that included shrimp, scallops, cod and a crabcake with choice of a side. For dessert, we chose the Chocolate Butter cake - oh, my word!! SO, so good!! And, the atmosphere here is lovely! So reminiscent for us of one of our favorite spots - Annapolis, Maryland.

KNOXVILLE, TN 37902 / SEAFOOD / 09-26-23 / DINNER +Customer experience was excellent. Cherie was wonderful. +They offer fresh fish flown in regularly. I had the sole while my colleague ordered the sockeye salmon. +Abundant vegetable offerings. +Plenty of spacious seating.

Food was delicious. Crab claws and oysters were my favorite. Jim, the bartender, was so helpful in making decisions on what to order and told us stuff to do during our time in Knoxville.

Very disappointed in our experience for a birthday dining event. I feel like a 3 is very generous for the price. For an upscale dining establishment it was shocking that upon being sat the first thing I noticed was the seats in our booth were actually ripped and torn and there were big chips out of the table top. Hmm. Waitress approached in a decent timeframe. Nothing above or below par on that. We got our drinks quickly too. Now the food is where it definitely fell short and that's what I'm so bummed about! My food was very cold and had to be sent back. It came back out nice and hot which was good but the grits were overly smokey and shockingly bland. I had to add a ton of butter and salt to make them better. My husband's food was hot but he said the gravy/sauce literally tasted old and like "dirt". It was gross. He ate the 5 total shrimp on it and left the rest. Overall, neither of us enjoyed our meals for my birthday and when we got a hot version of my meal the manager approached me in a creepy and weird role-play voice and made a weird comment. He also looked like/acted like something was askew. It felt really awkward. I thought they did free birthday dessert but I guess not. Our reservation said it was for my birthday and it was a bit of a bummer nobody even said happy birthday. Between the birthday and my cold food I was hoping they'd surprise me with for a free dessert, haha. But alas, none. We ordered one anyways to go. It was huge but it was sent home ice cold (barely defrosted). I'm not sure if that's normal? We were hoping to eat it right when we got home to celebrate and it had to be totally heated up, not just warmed a tad. That was an unexpected bummer. Also, it really wasn't great. We had half left over and it'll go in the trash. It was not a good value for our money and the taste was simply just not there. We'll never even eat the leftovers. It's sad when your husband thinks the bread was the best part of the meal but he was afraid to send it back since there was already something wrong with my meal and it was my birthday. I don't envision ever coming back or referring others to this place. If we want fresh seafood we'll go to the Shrimp Dock. It's not fancy but they do it right!

I can't give more than 5 stars, but I would if I could. My husband and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Chesapeake's. They are our go-to for special occasions. Always great service and food! We've tried several different seafood dishes over the years. Our last visit we ordered a salmon dish with tzatziki sauce from their specials and the steamed seafood feast to share. It was delicious. The staff is amazing as well. Always fun, kind and helpful. My husband also mentioned this last time how he feels comfortable at the restaurant, even when sitting in the middle of the room. I believe some has to do with the calming colors they use to light up the space. Just a great place all around.

Good steak and seafood place in downtown Knoxville. Fresh fish, lobster, and lots of oyster dishes from various places available.

We sat at the bar and the gentleman gave us some background on the facility and also allowed us to sample some of the wines that were made there. I really liked the wines I tried and purchased two bottles to bring home to NC. I was pleased with the customer service I received and I will go back again for a more extensive tour of the entire facility.

Loads of free parking, which is unique downtown. I went for lunch and got the Italian panini sandwich. The bread is toasted extra crispy and is filled with all kinds of stuff. Lots of flavor. Very good. It came with a side salad that was a cut above what I expected. With an iced tea and tax my lunch total was $14.75. Slightly above the average downtown but the quantity and quality was above average too. The place was empty except for me. Give them a try! Park there and ask if it's okay to leave your car in their lot while you walk around downtown. I'm on a mission to try all of the 50+ restaurants for lunch downtown. It's a fun assignment! The waitress was nice and my food came quickly.

The meatball appetizer was three mini meatballs. I've seen meatballs on sub sandwiches bigger than these. The lasagna, was really without any sauce. It was a bolognese sauce. Also it lacked the stretchy cheese pull that one expects from a lasagna. The pasta dishes from what I tried was a little to al dente, there was too much chew in the pasta. That said for the prices that they charge to not offer a side salad or at least some bread with the meal is disappointing.

The food is amazing. For appetizers I would recommend getting the focaccia and meatballs. Entree wise, I would HIGHLY recommend splitting the Pappardelle e Ragú di Maiale Bianco and something else with another one of your table mates. The portion size is perfect for one person but you'll want to try more than one item. If you are there in the summer, you must try the Tomato Martini (PLEASE bring it back for next summer's menu!). The service and ambiance of Osteria Stella and Brother Wolf is what completely sets them apart. OS is a high class, quiet, romantic restaurant with dark colors and knowledgeable servers who value your experience. BW is simply a high end bar. That said, BW is much more fast paced and really my only complaint, the music was absurdly loud the night we were there for dinner and the restaurant was crowded, so everyone was trying to talk over the music and you almost had to yell to even hear the person sitting right beside you. If going to OS, you would likely need reservations, especially on a weekend. With BW, they don't take reservations to my knowledge and it's a free for all for an open seat at the bar or an open table. Really the difference is what kind of vibe you're going for.
