The worst. They sent me his bio, Ordained Minister, when he arrived he was a part-time bouncer at the jetty and pretty lazy electrician at best. I paid him the 89 dollars, and never even received a quote. John C. read more

We ran out of power and Chesapeake Electric brought us a generator to use for several days while we got our panel upgraded. While they were there, they also hung a ceiling fan. Thank you Chesapeake Electric for your excellent customer service!! read more

This review is for the management of Chesapeake Electric and not the actual electrician Mario who came out to work on my house. If I could rate Mario's professionalism and performance, I would give him 5 stars and highly recommend him. Now to the fun part. My appointment was for 9am. At 910, no one had showed up to my house. So I decided to call Chesapeake Electric just to confirm I had the correct date. They confirmed and told me the electrician was going to be running late, and should be there between 11am to noon. Oh really! I understand that things happen and people run behind, but a courtesy call from the company would have been nice. Instead I had to reach out to them in order to get an update. This is unacceptable, especially from such a reputable company. My time is valuable, as I'm sure is yours. So going forward, I would highly suggest better communication with your consumer base as to any delays for appointments. read more

Power went out in one of our rooms. Reached out to several companies over the weekend and they were the first to respond Monday morning. Lucky they had availability to come out the same day. Electrician came and didn't leave until he found the root of the problem - an outlet that was wired / installed incorrectly (photos of old outlet attached). Promptly replaced and we're back in business. Lifesaver! Also very professional with shoe covers the whole time and vacuum in hand to clean up afterwards. Highly highly recommend! Will not hesitate to contact them again for our electrical needs in the future. read more

I am happy to post that Chesapeake electric reached out to me to help me better understand their new pricing system vs the old " time and materials" model and they happily removed the fee that I was mistakenly told would be applied to the price of the ceiling fan installation. The electricians were very nice and did a fine job installing the fan. read more

Great service. Very straight forward. Honest. They came and took care of my Tesla charger which had a breaker box malfunction and installed some inside pocket lights and a bathroom fan in 7 hours. read more

Quick response to address my issue. On time and very professional. Tech explained the problem. It took an hour to fix the issue with multiple parts needed. Labor rate was $214 but the parts costs were a lot higher than I expected. read more

Chesapeake Electric sent a worker, Logan W, to my home in Columbia MD to check old smoke alarm detectors . This was on or about Sept. 27, 2023. They set me up for service on the same day. The worker, Logan W arrived promptly, was very courteous, patient with me (an old lady) , and communicated very well, responding to all my questions and volunteering information. He replaced my two existing smoke detectors and advised me of code requirements for additional devices. So far I have no complaints. Logan told me I would receive email summarizing the work done, prices recommendations and estimates for additional work. I have not yet received the email but I don't know whether he was at fault or not for that. Price for work was $540.00, expensive, but I lack information to compare with other companies. I would recommend this company and Logan W. Price. read more

Great service... Mike and his colleague were professional, on time, knowledgeable, and efficient with their work. Highly recommended!

Overcharged for services ($300 more than estimated) and did not reimburse for broken items and subsequent service work to correct mistakes. Installation cost me over $1725 to fix the mistakes caused by Chesapeake Electric. They shattered a light and still installed it with broken glass loosely encased in brown paper. Broke fans and never changed out existing switches as promised. Company agreed to settle for $1000 but still has not sent payment. They indicated they would pay me $1000 to settle if I removed all reviews I had posted. I am posting this so that others do not share in the horrible experience I had with this company. I wonder how many others they promised to pay to not post bad reviews. read more

I appreciated the same day quote and service being provided. Tech was polite, fast, explained everything and cleaned up after himself.

They installed new ceiling fixtures for us, and I'm pleased with a result. They did a good job, cleaned up after themselves, and were super respectful of our home. As far as I can tell, they did not cut any corners, and the final price did not exceed the estimate we had been given. I also appreciate the one-year warranty. read more

I contacted five of the firms on Tesla's list of recommended firms to install my new Level 3 Wall Charger in my area. Chesapeake Electric was by far the best choice. They got back to me quickly with a competitive quote. I was able to contact them easily to set up an installation date. The electrician completed an expert installation in two hours time. My charging rate has increased from 5 to 45 miles/hour. Overall, I am very satisfied. read more

The electricians were friendly, professional and they completed the job quickly. Thank you.

Super experience. From making the appointment to meeting the service technician, customer experience was excellent. Mike G was thorough and professional, pointing out areas where he could improve our layout, and neaten up existing (and ancient) wiring. The job was completed on time, and he throughly cleaned up after himself. Chesapeake Electric is our new go-to contractor. read more

I called them today and within 15 minutes Derek was at my house to give me a quote. Then within another 15 minutes he repaired my light fixture. I've never had service so quickly before. It was a relief to get this done. I am impressed. However I do think I paid way too much for the service . $340 to replace a ballast. So that might not be appealing. It's up to you if you're willing to pay way too much to get something done very quickly. read more

Great company to deal with! We had many electrical jobs that needed to be completed and Chesapeake Electric did them all efficiently and professionally. Exceptional crew ( Mike G & his assistant) explained everything and answered all of our questions. The office staff (Sam) was also so nice to work with and were very accommodating in scheduling our job. I cannot say enough about this company and how pleased we are with the job they did! Highly recommend them! read more

Great job and great service. The lady who scheduled my appointment was very nice. This was an emergency appointment scheduled early in Saturday. Matt the electrician came out on time, he was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They charged as promised. Highly recommend and would use again if needed. read more

I asked four accredited firms to do a simple cable run. Cheapeake showed up 3 hours late and later provided a quote that was 10X the other accredited firms. They have great advertising, so perhaps that is where they spend their money, but I would caution anyone from having them work in your home - or at least get other quotes from certified contractors. read more

I got estimates from 4 different electrical companies. Chesapeake Electric wasn't the cheapest, but also wasn't the most expensive either. What set Chesapeake Electric apart was Ryan. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and I simply felt comfortable in his abilities. He was also attentive to my requests and didn't try to upsell anything. The installation itself was clean and they used high quality products. I would definitely use them again. read more

They left a big trench in my yard right before I was going to have two dozen family members over for Thanksgiving (celebrated on a Sunday). They came out, estimated the work to connect power to a shed. They dug a trench on Tuesday, and spent a couple of hours on Thursday morning hooking everything up. They had me pay them before the trench was filled in, because they said that the trench guy couldn't accept payment. They said they would have it done "ASAP", knowing I was having guests in the yard over the weekend. I called on Friday to find out when it would be done, and they said it wouldn't be done before Monday. It is now Wednesday, and I haven't heard from them. read more

This is the 2nd time I've used Chesapeake Electric. Just like the 1st go round, exceptional customer service in scheduling and communicating the arrival of the technician. The repairs were done in short order and he was on his way. Great service, great value....great locally owned small business that delivers big! Call them! read more

Tyler and his support staff did an excellent overall job on the electrical work at my home. They had to run new underground lines to swimming pool area, relocate electrical sub-panel, install new breakers, and move other electrical devices (such as the pool motor timer). The job was carried out professionally and in a timely manner. The team also took extra care to go above and beyond by checking if I had any needs (such as house supplies) due to the 'lock-down' for corona virus; they also made sure all work areas were left neat and clean when they wrapped up the work. Ryan, as manager, always kept me informed of schedules and precise times of arrival. He always double checked on the project and he was genuinely interested in seeing that the job '..was done right..'. I am very happy with the performance of 'Chesapeake Electric' and especially happy with the work done by Tyler and his support. Kudos to all the workers and management. read more

Ryan and his crew installed a set of eight recessed lights in my kitchen and the lights look and work great. The job took less time than I thought it would and turned out to be $200 less than the estimate. They removed all the old fixtures and cleaned up thoroughly when finished. Ryan was very knowledgeable, honest, courteous, and professional in his work. He took the time to explain how the work would proceed and was happy to answer all my questions. E. I needed some motion lights so I called around to a few places and received some estimates. Ryan, the owner, provided me with a very competitive price estimate and since I believe in supporting local, small businesses, I went with CES. Ryan and his team are superb professionals in every way. They arrived on time and installed 5 motion lights that look and operate magnificently. I was not certain about the exact location and placement of the lights, but Ryan and his team provided me with some solid recommendations. We tested the lights together and they gave me a very thorough demonstration of how everything works. Everything looks and works great! I will definitely use CES again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality electrical work at affordable prices! read more

Ok, not great. Guy charged me for an extra hour because he didn't have a seemingly basic part and he had to drive back to the warehouse to get it, not sure if that's standard or not. Other than that service was fine and the work turned out ok. He also couldn't quote me a price to have a generator transfer switch installed and did not get back to me regarding one when I asked specifically and wanted his company to do it. Guess I'll have someone else install one. read more
