Upon entering his car, the individual driving this company's truck proceeds to this time slam his door into her car leaving a scuff. We called the number on the truck to attempt to resolve the matter in a civil way. In my opinion, the individual seemed to be very hostile and unfriendly. To compare, I obtained a separate quote from another company for $880 for the same work. Unfortunately, the drastic discrepancy means Bailey & Shipp has lost my business. We reached out to this company based on the referral of someone who I know and trust. One of the owners came out and did an overview and explained our options and provided estimates for each of them. She explained how the process would work. Their company handles every aspect of the process. They handle obtaining the permits, scheduling all inspections, and and they have all of the necessary trades people on their staff, with the exception of the company that had to drill for the propane lines. First, let me say how amazing the installation team was. Dave - Lead Electrician Dave was fantastic. He had to move some furniture to access the electric panel inside, but he did so would care and made sure to put everything back just as it was originally. He was very knowledgeable and personable, as well. Nick - Electrician Nick was fantastic. I had a bunch of questions when he arrived, and he patiently answered all of them. Pat - Gas Fitter Pat had to come out several times because we had issues with the county inspections and he was the one who resolved them. He was efficient, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Tyler & Mike S. - Helpers On the day of install, Tyler and Mike were part of the team and they were pitching in and helping everybody with whatever was necessary. They were one of the first to arrive and when I went out to greet them, they were very polite and friendly and helped to explain what I could expect over the course of the day. Everybody was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They were also very respectful of our property. The company that was used to drill and run the propane lines, also very professional and respectful of our property. I truly appreciated the fact that this company handles all aspects of the process, from providing the estimate, up until installation and final inspection. I also found the price to be very fair. With that being said, I found communication between the different people that I dealt with to be lacking. I had to be incredibly proactive and basically act as my own project manager. That is not to say that the entire staff wasn't friendly and professional. They were. However, I appreciate and expect a more proactive communication style and I just didn't feel that I got that. I do realize that a process like this has a lot of moving parts and that I was not their only customer. With that being said, I would still recommend this company to anyone who is looking to install a whole house generator. They were professional and did handle all aspects of the process so I wasn't having to coordinate gas fitters, electricians, handling, county inspections, etc. The owners, Mike and Sarah, are both very nice. Mike came out after the install to do the overview and initial start up. He was also just out to install the fuel tank monitors. I live in northern St Mary's County. I have been a longtime customer of Burch Oil. Years ago I had…read more4 very old heat pumps at the end of their lives. I replaced one per year for 4 years. Bobby from Burch Oil explained everything heat pump to me and helped me make informed choices. (Did anyone else know that Burch Oil installs and works on heat pumps?) One of the 4 ended up being a lemon (by no fault of Burch Oil), and it was a long road to convince the company that makes the heat pumps to replace it. Those at Burch Oil helped in every way they could and eventually it was replaced. Fast forward to nowadays. Another of the heat pumps stopped working at the beginning of this heat wave on Sunday. During every week I am an hour away caring for my elderly mother at her house and can't leave without arranging care for her. Burch Oil responded immediately to my call and worked with me to arrange an appointment the next day that I could be there for. James figured out what was wrong and ordered the part, and told me it is covered by warranty--I didn't even know that, but they keep track. The part arrived the very next day. Then Buddy in dispatching worked with me to arrange a time to install it 24 hours later when I could come home again--they may have been able to install it earlier, but I couldn't come any sooner. What a relief! I'm having my granddaughters at my house this weekend and originally thought there was no way the AC would be working by then, but Burch Oil came through, and everyone I talked to was helpful and friendly and concerned for me. I could never find the words to express how grateful I am for their help, caring and personal business model, and constancy over the years.

They never addressed how they have been out to our home for the past 3 years, and Never fixed it!!! This year alone they came out 3 times and every time it was a different problem. 1st they said it just needed to b cleaned, that didn't work. They came back out and said it needed a new motor so I paid for that 2. It still didn't work. Then they come back out and say i need a whole new unit. I called to complain and couldn't get a call back. Now months later they have the nerve to call and say $4000 with a 15 percent discount. R they serious? Like I previously said, stay away from these con artists!!!!

Contacted the call center, after painfully explaining every detail, like how to spell simple words…read morelike "cedar" the operator told me they could get somebody to my house that day, as an "emergency call". I asked how much is an emergency call vs a regular call and she said she didn't know that, and that a technician would have to call me to tell me the price after I booked the emergency service. I told her multiple times that I didn't want to book a service which I didn't know the price of. She finally says "I'll have the technician call you with the price of the visit before you commit". 20 minutes later I get a text and an email that a technician was on his way in about an hour. I contact the call center again, and nothing. Another 20 minutes goes by and a technician finally calls me. Won't tell me the price of a standard emergency call, and tells me a tech is already on their way. I simply said "cancel it". If it's this difficult to get a simple price from them, I can't imagine how more difficult things go for them. It told me everything I need to know about how they handle their business. Avoid. So many other great options locally, they don't need your business.
