Cheryl is amazing; her prices are amazing. Your search is over, you've found the perfect place to board your cat. Quick tip: Even though Cheryl provides blankets, beds etc., it's always a good idea to leave something familiar for your cat to make the transition easier. Ideally it should smell like you. I needed to board my cat, Honeybucket, for a week and was dreading taking her to the vet or worse, Petsmart, where she'd spend the entire time cowering in a tiny, exposed, and impersonal cage handled by who knows how many people. I am particularly sensitive to what goes on at "luxury" pet hotels - they hire teenagers at minimum wage with little experience. Sure these kids may have grown up with a pet, but come on, we all know that mom was really the one who took care of Fido or Mittens. A quick google search introduced me to Cheryl and I immediately sent her an email. She was quick to respond with pictures, brochures, forms, and a little about the bed and breakfast. I met with her prior to Honeybucket's stay and was impressed that every cat got their own private space and with how IMPECCABLE her house is kept. Talk about amazing odor control! I was completely at ease with entrusting her with my cat. I really liked the fact that she requires proof of vaccinations. She will take care of your cat EXACTLY per your specifications and with lots of love - the perfect balance of professionalism and compassion. During the week, Cheryl sent me updates and pictures which is above and beyond what I expected. Honeybucket had completely settled in and was so calm that Cheryl was able to give her a nail trim without any growling or biting! I know that Honeybucket was treated well because we've been back home for a few days and she has not retaliated for being "abandoned." You absolutely cannot find a better place to board your cat. Cheryl will keep your kitties good company while you are away, and you won't have to feel guilty about imposing on your friends (again). My spouse and I have used Cheryl several times for home visits for our two boys. We typically space the home visit days out over our vacation, since they don't really need a personal visit every day. This tends to work out well for us. Older cats or households with single cats might need more frequent visits. They get lonely! :) Cheryl comes in, spends a few minutes with the boys, scoops their litter pan, leaves food for a couple of days, checks the mail, and then locks up. We can always tell when we return that she's been there to look in on them. They're usually fussy when we've been away, but especially fussy when they've been totally left to their own devices for the week. Cheryl's prices are also very affordable. I understand that she also boarding in her own home, kitty condo style, for those that need to be away for an extended period. While we haven't ever used the home boarding service, we would most certainly feel comfortable leaving our boys with Cheryl. We'e always had the impression that she really loves animals and treats her wards as her own. For what it's worth, I rarely give five star reviews because I feel most of them are totally inflated. Cheryl's Kitty B&B is the exception. Keep Cheryl in mind if you need to go away for a few days. She's worth every penny in peace of mind and the five stars. read more

Just picked up my 5 year old feline Madeline from Cheryl's Kitty B&B this morning. This was my 4th time sending my cat to Cheryl and I figured it's about time I write a review! Cheryl herself is a very warm, friendly, responsible person. You can tell she really cares for the cats that stay with her. Her house is large and there are many private rooms, each accommodating a "guest" (or more if it's a multi cat household). Madeline has stayed in 2 of the rooms and they have plenty of toys, kitty furniture, and human furniture! I love that she has so much space to roam around in when she stays there, and plenty to keep her occupied. I also love that Cheryl takes pictures and texts me with updates and check ins while I'm away! I always know that my kitty is in good hands while I'm gone. The prices are very reasonable! I've paid far more to put Madeline in a kennel for a week and now that we've experienced Cheryl's B&B I can't imagine sending her anywhere else :) highly recommend! read more

Wow. Cheryl is an amazing woman. She has created a little piece of heaven for cats in her lovely home. We entrusted her with our newly adopted kitten when we went to visit relatives over Thanksgiving, and she had a blast! We received periodic texts with pictures of our kitty over the course of the 5 days we were away, with updates about how she was adjusting, and funny things she did. The place is very clean and fresh-smelling - cats only boarding (but with a very mellow cat-friendly resident dog). Each cat (or family of cats) has their own room, with lots of toys and snuggly coccons and safe places to explore. A few dollars more expensive than some of the local animal boarding places, but well worth it for the loving, pleasant atmosphere and the personalized updates. read more

I've never written a Yelp review before, but I'm creating an account for the first time just so I can say how much I love Cheryl and her Kitty B&B. This past week is the second time I've turned to Cheryl to board my cat Lola. The first time around I was just as impressed with everything as the others who left reviews. Cheryl's home is clean, spacious for the kitties, and just darling. Her bedrooms are particularly beautiful, accompanied with human-size furniture and even a bed for the cats to feel comfortable and at home. Cheryl is amazingly sweet, and I trusted her 100% from the beginning, my satisfaction with her services becoming even greater with her consistent text messages and pictures of Lola to ease my mind while I was away. As a pet owner who sees their little ball of fur more like a child than an animal, this meant the world to me, and Lola seemed happy to be getting so much love and attention while I was away. The second time I boarded Lola with Cheryl I was much more at ease, knowing that Lola would be familiar with her surroundings and loved spending time with Cheryl. While my family was away, a pet-owners' worst nightmare happened: Lola got sick. She ended up having crystals in her urine, and because of Cheryl's wonderful care and attention to her, Cheryl was able to notice Lola struggling to urinate early on, and called me right away to voice her concerns. With my permission, Cheryl took Lola to the vet indicated on the paperwork I had left with her. The vet kept Lola overnight for observation, and Cheryl returned the next day to get her and pick up her medication. Cheryl then spent the rest of the week updating me about Lola's condition, letting me know that she was improving, that she was taking the medicine easily, etc. I can't tell you how much this meant to me, being over 2,000 miles away and knowing that Lola was in the best hands possible while she was sick and I couldn't be there for her. Cheryl was an angel and went above and beyond what I could have expected to make sure my pet was taken amazing care of. At the end of the day, all I can say is wow. Cheryl truly loves animals and it's clear how much she enjoys her job. What more could you ask than to leave your pet with someone as capable and wonderful as her? Thank you Cheryl! Exceeded expectations. My cat Andre had a wonderful vacation at Cheryl's Bed and Breakfast.

Although, the house and rooms are clean, they appeared to be very cluttered. I will say that I never smelled cat urine while dropping off or picking up our cat. Day 1 drop off our 2 year old kitty, Day 2 text message saying the cat is doing well. Day 3 text stating cat is using litter box, but only "picking at her food." Day 4 no texts all day - that at approximately 7:10 p.m. we get a text stating cat has not eaten all day and Sheryl wants to take our cat the the ER. We ask if our cat has vomited, has diarrhea, or is lethargic, to which we are told "no." But Sheryl insists "that she knows the signs and our cat's kidneys could shut down and she couldn't have a cat dying on her." We know how picky our little princess can be and tried to explain, we asked if we could wait until morning and if our cat was still not eating if she could be taken to a Veterinarian - Sheryl told us it "was our call." So when we said we'd like her to wait 'til morning and see how our cat was doing - Sheryl told us that on the contract we signed when boarding our cat there was a "section on the back" that stated she would take an animal to a Vet, or ER if SHE felt it was necessary. So, what were we to do? Not an hour later we found ourselves paying the Animal ER $176.00 via credit card over the phone, as they discharged our cat with an appetite stimulant. The Vet we spoke with didn't seem all that concerned, but explained if the appetite stimulant did not work, and the cat was brought back they would do blood work, and x-rays. After paying $176.00 to calm Sheryl's anxiety, we were worried that she would take our cat back to the ER (again for no real reason) and we would incur further (and a more extensive bill) for our picky kitty - so we cut our vacation short by 3 days, drove through the night, slept a few hours, and picked up our cat promptly. I cannot endorse this Shery's Kitty B&B! She panicked over nothing, (cat was drinking, using litter box, and "picking" at food. It was her 1st time being boarded, and she was quite lonely.) Sheryl would not have a conversation with us - just kept saying "I know the signs," and then went directly against our wishes and took our cat to the ER at our expense! What were we to do, she had us over a barrel! (BTW, spoke with 4 long time cat owners who all say not eating, or picking is not unusual when a cat is removed from their environment, or their owner is not present.) I will NEVER USE THIS BOARDER, OR HER SERVICES AGAIN! GLAD SHE TOLD US SHE IS NOT TAKING ANY NEW CLIENTS - TIME TO RETIRE! (P.S. - I am happy to report that kitty walked into our/her home and jumped right up to her feeding dish. She was purring up a storm for 3 days, is eating just fine, and is as healthy as ever.) read more

I was in a bind with a senior male diabetic cat, his companion male, who had never been boarded, an almost feral mom-cat who had just delivered five kittens on my enclosed porch, and an upcoming wedding out of town. I had boarded my diabetic cat with Cheryl previously and it worked out great - he was fine and I was confident he would get his twice a day shots with no problem. So, off went the two boys to Cheryl and they jumped right up in the window to watch the comings and goings in the neighborhood. Home visits took care of the mom and youngsters. My husband and I were able to enjoy several days out of town with no worries, especially when receiving messages that all was well. If I had had to do vet boarding it would have cost a fortune, since both boys would have had to have gone together, in the vet supervised section. Since they were both up to date on shots, etc., and I know that is a requirement for boarders at Cheryl's B&B, I was sure I would have an excellent repeat experience, and I did. read more

My husband and I have used Cheryl maybe 5 or more time during the past 14 or so months that we have lived in Rochester. We hired her to come to our home every other day while on vacation or away visiting family. She did such a wonderful job taking care of our two kitties and also was very good with communication, very professional, and extremely honest. It is rare to find someone you can trust to watch over your pets when you are new to a city....we didn't know anyone in Rochester who could watch our pets while we were away. She was even able to watch over our cats with basically no notice when my husband's father was sick...we ended up having to be away for an entire week. I have no clue what I would have done without Cheryl graciously agreeing to watch our kitties! We were so fortunate to have found Cheryl! Sadly we are moving (yet again) for my husband's job. I sure hope we can find someone as compassionate and responsible as Cheryl to watch our kitties in our new city. read more
