The only groomer I go to in Rochester!…read more I have a shih tzu and let me tell you, he is a pain to groom. His hair grows so fast, he mats easily, and I didn't do the best job training him to stay still, so it is a struggle to do myself. I first took him to Petsmart for grooming and he came back SHAKING. The next time we went (for shopping, not for grooming), he got nervous immediately when we walked in. He is an anxious dog, but I decided to take him to another groomer because he clearly had a bad experience there. So I looked up local places and this one had great reviews. I've been taking him here for the past year and a half. Every time he goes to Bark Avenue Dog, he is calm and comes back looking and smelling amazing. I even walked in once before they finished with him and he didnt bark or start fidgeting when he saw me, he just calmly let her finish. I know my dog very well, and that was impressive! Pricing is reasonable and they really care for your dog, listen to what you want done, and do an amazing job.

The employees were aloof and unresponsive about it. when they gave him to me he was shaking and upset for hours. He has never been the same for grooming since this event. There is a lack of transparency in the place where everything is behind closed doors. I wish I had not been in a bind after Covid, I wish I had never taken him here.

A friend suggested I get him groomed for maintenance. Firstly, I had no idea this was a thing people did for their cats, but Wembley was so fresh and clean afterward. It's definitely smart to do every so often. Totally worth the $50! Prices depend on the service, the cat's hair length, and the animal's demeanor. I was so happy when the owner said that Wembley was a sweetheart! He did really well apparently and they were so nice there. The appointment took about 2 hours - he got his hair combed and brushed out, as well as a shampoo and they blow dried his fur too. His coat was shiny and clean and the shedding has gone down tremendously. When he's due for his next appointment, I won't hesitate to bring him back here again. FYI they offer other services for dogs and cats too like nail trimmings, grooming, etc.

What more could you ask than to leave your pet confident that they will be comfortable and come back looking super spiffy! I enjoyed seeing the dog decor and how clean the place was. I kept sniffing around for something that may have fallen on the floor but no such luck; the shop is that clean. I could tell Ali was very interested in what my owners wanted because she kept running her hands over my coat to indicate what she would do. When my owners returned to pick me up I could tell my owners were thrilled. They were smiling from ear to ear, hugging Ali and heaping compliments on me. I also saw Ali give my owners a card which probably means I will be back for another appointment. I am glad because Ali made me look fabulous. I cannot wait to tell all of my friends in the neighborhood to spread the word to their owners. The Pooch Parlor is THE grooming place to go. You will look and feel like a million bucks. Love, Theo

I've walked by TPP numerous of time and then I found her work on FB. I stalked all her cute curry clients and I loved the way their haircuts came out. My sister contacted Ali through FB and scheduled an appointment to come in. She had an opening the same week. There is a small parking lot next to the building. Ali was so welcoming upon entering. She was so friendly! I dropped Bubbles off and she said to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour and Bubbles was so cute. Normally Petco and Petsmart keeps Bubbles for hours! The price was very reasonable. Ali is a one woman team. I am beyond happy with Bubbles haircut and I love supporting local businesses! I'll definitely be back!

My dog looked great and her fur was very soft. Also she was playing with other dogs while she was waiting for us to pick her up. Definitely will be bringing my dog there again.

My dog is skittish so I wasn't sure how her first ever grooming would go. Let's just say I am beyond happy! They far exceeded my expectations! I was able to get Phoebe in quickly. I waited less than 2 weeks to get her in. Her hair was very long and was becoming very matted from baths. I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked her up! It took 4 hours because of the work ahead. They have a system that just texts you when your dog is ready to be picked up. My dog looked absolutely gorgeous! The work that Jerrica did was top-notch. Phoebe looks like she's pageant ready! Haha! I highly recommend Dapper Dog. It was very affordable and they were clearly good with my dog because she didn't really want to leave when I picked her up! She loves it already which is so comforting. FYI they take cards there and you can tip on the credit card as well.
