They're chewy and soft and spun with magic. You think you hate plain bagels? No you hate other plain bagels, because these ones will have you questioning all bagels you've had before they are made of pure heaven and glow with all gloriousness. You think you've had a good bagel sandwich? In Utah? No. These sandwiches are the most perfectly made sandwiches, the eggs are cooked so well, they don't fall off the bagel they're buttery, they are well seasoned. Every bagel sandwich I've tried is somehow my favorite and when I go I have to resist the urge to order multiple. Thankfully my husband loves to go halvsies so I never have to experience bagel sandwich FOMO. You want just bagels and cream cheese? You will get the best cream cheese of your life. You want a flat bagel to rip apart and eat? The enormous Flagels are in their own ballpark of delicious, they are crispy, they are salty, they are an incredible vessel in which to get cream cheese in your mouth. I have never been to New Jersey and New York but I almost feel like there is no need since Cheryl brings a piece of New Jersey with her to Utah. The cherry on top for this beautiful bagel sundae, is the wonderful customer service. Everyone is kind and Cheryl herself an absolute gem. If you leave this place hungry you're doing something wrong. After you eat here you may wake up in the middle of the night with a bagel craving that can only be quelled by a Cheryl's bagel. Any flavor you are blessed enough to eat will be one of the best bagels you have. I have included pictures but two of the items I bought were devoured instantly. The bagel itself though is pretty chewy and tough to bite into - not sure if it was just because we went later in the day or if that's how they always are. Stumbled on this shop on a business trip to Bountiful. Excellent bagel: dense, not bready, with fine crust. Best bagel I have had in Utah. I eat my bagels AS A BAGEL--no sandwiches. Cream cheese, lox if I have it, otherwise a tomato slice. So I can't comment on the sandwiches. Moved here from Baltimore. Always patronized Goldberg's Bagels in Pikesville (largest Jewish community in US outside of NYC). They truck their dough down from NYC. Apparently it's the WATER that can't be duplicated. The taste has a slight acidic bite to it. So without NYC water, I think this is as good as it gets. Einstein Bagels too bready, weak crust. I bet they are baked off site, frozen and delivered. Rich's bagels are terrible. Feldman's are very good, but not as good as these. p.s. Bongiorno Bagel in Gilbert AZ has a "New York Watermaker" in the shop, whatever that is. I love bagels, the problem is there aren't many bagel places in Utah. Even less of said bagels are fresh and delicious and made East Coast style. Cheryl's bagels were absolutely amazing. It's a small little shop in a strip mall set-up. The bagels are soft but still chewy with a nice outside shell and such a yummy flavor! (They are NOT hard, tough, or rubbery). They really blew my mind and were even more than I was expecting!! I've already been two days in a row. (Yes, there that good.) They have a big, unique selection of cream cheese, too. Including green olive, blueberry lemon, bacon scallion, and caramelized onion. One thing I would like to see is a cinnamon raisin or a blueberry bagel(there are only savory bagels currently). This place is like a little piece of the East Coast. I will definitely be back for more!! My only complaint is that Cheryl herself is not the most friendly person I've ever met. She is a bit brusque. However, my interactions with her employees were good,they were friendly. So, them and the bagels will still keep me coming back for more. read more

What in the world, why did I not discover Cheryl's Bagels earlier? Cheryl's bagels are dangerous and I hope she knows that and is proud of herself. Walk in and you immediately smell the aroma. I went at 8am and there was already a line and people going in and out. I am not a morning person, but I'd be willing to wake up early once in a while to indulge in these bagels. This is a small store with an assortment of bagels as well as cream cheese flavors. Cheryl helped me pair the bagels I was interested in with the cream cheese and sandwich I wanted. I ended up walking away with a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich in an everything bagel as well as a zaatar bagel with jalapeno cheddar cream cheese. Cheryl gave me a sample of the zaatar and the jalapeno cheddar cream cheese to make sure those were the flavors I wanted, and I'm pretty sure it was also to make me want more. The breakfast bagel was warm, the cheese was melty, the egg was fluffy, and the whole thing was an experience. The everything seasoning was so savory and hit the spot. The zaatar and jalapeno cheddar cream cheese bagel was delicious as well. The jalapeno cheddar was so strong that it overpowered the zaatar, so if I were to get a zaatar bagel again, I'd pair it with a milder cream cheese. Still, absolutely delicious. Yes, I finished the bagels before I reached home. The texture of the bagels were the definition of perfection. The best kind of chewy you could want in a bagel. Next time I visit, I'm going to bring a lot more bagels and some tubs of cream cheese home with me. That fridge full of different types of cream cheeses was so dangerous. Even though going to Bountiful is a bit of a drive for me, these bagels are 100% worth it. Everyone needs a little treat every now and then. read more

I will forever be indebted to Cheryl for moving to Utah from New Jersey to bring us delicious East Coast style bagels. There aren't enough bagels in Utah! Cheryl's Bagels is located in a strip mall in Bountiful and they make DELICIOUS bagels. I didn't even have time to take a photo because I just stuffed the whole bagel in my mouth as soon as I got into my car. I luckily got there in time to get their last everything bagel of the day. They have some other wonderful flavors as well, including a rosemary salt bagel that I'll be trying next time. I usually love a toasted bagel, but they don't do toasted bagels here. Totally fine, the bagels are fresh and delicious and perfect just the way they are. I got the scallion cream cheese and it was absolutely wonderful. Cheryl is so friendly and kind, and takes the time to get to know her customers. I got to chat with her while I was there, and she had a personalized conversation with everyone who came in. I got there around 10:45am on a Friday and there were only a handful of each flavor left. Best to get there early if there's a particular flavor you want! The bagels taste good, the only thing is that they don't toast bagels. So be warned if you want to toast toasted onion bagel with butter on it, you won't be able to get it toasted. I've tried a lot of bagel places, this is pretty good for fresh bagels if you want to take them home, but buying something in store without toasting, being able to warm up the bagel, is a black mark against the place. It would be really nice if "We the People..." supported her to the point that she could expand the size of her store so that there were more places to sit down but even as it is the experience is amazing. No matter where you live accross the entire Wasatch Front or Wasatch Back, a trip to Cheryl's Bagels in Bountiful Utah is worth it. Looking for a new venue near home to satiate my morning cravings, my wife told me about a new bagel place in Bountiful her cousin had recommended. We took a quick drive down the hill to Cheryl's Bagels which is located in the strip mall on the south west corner of 500 South and 200 West. There was plenty of parking when we arrived and a few people lined up at the counter. The interior is very clean and organized with a nice display of the nine or so types of bagels offered. I took a few pictures of the place and when we ordered the woman taking orders at the counter asked why I was taking photos. My wife outed me as one who does Yelp reviews so my cover was blown. I got childishly mad at her and left to sit in the car after ordering a plain bagel with cream cheese. My wife ordered a garlic bagel with the Lox spread. After we got home and I had cooled my jets, we sat down and had the bagels for a late breakfast. The bagels themselves were really good, nice and chewy with a smooth crust, just like they should be and not like the roadkill bagels at the chain bagel shops. We shared half a bagel from each of our orders and I felt the plain cream cheese was a better value as the lox spread didn't have a lot of salmon flavor. There were some other spread options that might be good and I'll have to return and try them out. Cheryl's bagels is an owner operated place that produces a quality bagel. The hours and days open are short, probably so the owner can have a life outside of work. The spread and topping options are limited and a bagel plain or with spread is what you get, no toasting, no built up add ons like lox, capers, onions, whitefish, etc that you might find at a New York bagel place. But for a very good bagel itself, it's a great option. I'll surely be back to Cheryl's as a go-to local bagel shop. read more

I love bagels! I was excited to see that a storefront was open for Cheryl's bagels. We stopped by around 11:00 am on a Saturday. We were third in line but while waiting the line easily grew to about 8 deep. You can order bagels to go or have them slice it and add cream cheese there. Lots of flavors for cream cheese as well (strawberry, plain, honey nut etc) The bagel was big and chewy. The service is friendly and you can tell there is pride in the product. I came here for the first time this week and got a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich with a garlic bagel. Before I got my food, I interacted a little with the two women that were working there, and they were very friendly. However, unfortunately I wasn't incredibly impressed with the sandwich. The bagels here are a little more dense than ones you would find at say, Einstein bagels. This is fine, though it wasn't very conducive to a sandwich experience because the density of the bagel causes all the ingredients on the sandwich to squish out each time you try and take a bite. read more

To call this the best bagel in Utah would be easy. However there is more to a restaurant that makes it great. Cheryl herself is very abrasive and can be brutally honest to her employees in front of guests which can be uncomfortable. Of the 3 times I've been there, I've been quite surprised at it, but spending much time in the northeast I understand where the personality comes from. That being said, the bagel itself is great! I was excited to come check out this place after all of the hype. It's good! It's a nice little shop in a strip mall in bountiful. There isn't any seating and if there are more than a handful of people you'll need to wait outside. The service was good and the helpers were quick. The bagels are good. Nice and dense but not too chewy. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything. The bagel was very heavily seasoned which may be good for some people, but I had to flake some off. I was hoping for more substantial egg, but it was cooked well. Having other cheese options would also be a plus, not a fan of the American cheese slices. Maybe consider a make your own option and have some options for meat, egg white or regular, and then some cheese options. Just a suggestion. We showed up around noon on a Saturday and we're lucky to still have a few good ones to choose from! I got the garlic with bacon scallion cream cheese and my husband got the salmon lox on a garlic bagel with no cream cheese. WOW! This bagel was so fluffy and delicious. It had garlic taste throughout not just on top and not to mention the pillowy cream cheese was so amazing. Just did a trip to New York a few months ago and was craving a good bagel. Found this place and definitely the best bagel I've had in Utah

Oh Thats Fresh. What is there to say about Cheryl's that already hasn't been said! Loved coming here in the morning to enjoy a freshly baked everything bagel. My business partner and i were greeted with a warm hello and were faced with the difficult decision of what to order ! I was torn with taking a savory or sweet route. I ultimately ended up ordering half a dozen bagels that consisted of garlic, everything, and plain. I also couldn't walk away without having bagel right then and there. I opted for the everything bagel with the bacon and scallion cream cheese. They do not skimp out on scallion or bacon ! It was a savory overload ! My business partner and i enjoyed our bagel in their parking lot and there was something about biting into a east coast style bagel in the morning looking at the bountiful mountains that just made it that much more enjoyable. Needless to say we were catching a vibe early in the morning For those you have not had a east coast style bagel you're really missing out and i highly recommend stopping in for one. Went to Cheryl's Bagels for lunch today. Ordered the Lox sandwich on an Everything Bagel, which was "the bomb". SO DELICIOUS! Sadly disappointed. I have never written a poor review anywhere until now. I Was excited to try a bagel since I've heard good things about this new business opening. The bacon egg and cheese bagel wasn't good. The rosemary salt bagel was excessively salty! I had to scrape the salt off and it still was overwhelmingly salty! The bacon was soggy and the egg seemed out of liquid box mix? American cheese never impresses. So bland.
