As we walked in, the bartender continued to have a conversation and then mentioned we could sit anywhere without looking at us. The ambience was clear that they do not welcome people that are not local. We didn't see a waitress, nor did we feel welcome in this establishment. Received our drinks and she was gone again.... 20 min later i stood up and she was walking outside...followed her and let her know we were ready to order. Order finally arrived. Inedible chicken tenders, 2 wings instead of 4... salty as hell. I finally had enough and found a real waitress (black hair and glasses) who helped fix the order. This is small bar/restaurant on a street corner across from our hotel(Doubletree by Hilton). There is pretty standard bar menu: burgers, nachos, fried shrimp, chicken sandwiches., soups. Jamestown on a Sunday or Monday doesn't offer much in the food department. At least the Cherry Lounge across the street from our hotel was open on Monday. It is a small bar/restaurant with a pretty much standard bar menu and about 8 beers on tap and some more in cans. We shared a nacho platter with ground beef added. (The other option is chicken) There was a good amount of melted cheese, so even the chips at the bottom had some cheese. It was served with circles of pickled banana peppers and sliced black olives. It was a good size serving. The waitress was nice and attentive. We came in a couple of minutes after Happy Hour ended, but she made it work for my beer anyway. read more

We are in town for the Lucille Ball Comedy Fest and needed a place to get a quick bite before our next event. We read the reviews and weren't sure this was our kinda place. Boy were we wrong! Not fancy but clean and very well run. We ordered some drinks..which were excellent and potato skins. They were awesome. We liked the place so much we decided to come back for dinner...and we did! I had the stuffed green pepper soup..which was made in-house...and OMG! It was awesome! The onion rings were ok. My sister had the tuna melt...and I had a bite. Awesome! The other two in our party had the fried haddock special and they said it was the best. Word of note, the Cole slaw has a lot of mayo. If that's not your thing then pass it by. Our waitresses..each time...were excellent. I have zero reservations about recommending this place. The name may have lounge in it but it is very family friendly. read more

The Cherry Lounge has been around downtown for a long time and they have a solid reputation for two things: chicken wings and the place you'll most likely run into one of your high school teachers after graduation. All that fun stuff aside, I've had about everything on the menu at one point or another and their food is decent. Most recently, my cousin and I went in minutes before the kitchen closed down on a Saturday night. Now, most places would turn you away or offer you whatever was leftover in the fridge... but the server was polite and could tell we weren't there to cause trouble... we just needed some grub. "We can make you just about anything on our fried appetizer menu," she said. Our response was "Ok!" Needing clarification, she asked what we would like and we literally ordered every fried appetizer on the menu. DISCLAIMER: Don't do this... unless you really want to, then definitely do it! It was fun, something to scratch off our bucket list, and I still have people ask about it. We tried them all; cheese sticks, pizza logs, you name it. The best parts were the fried mushrooms and chicken cordon bleu balls... you gotta try em! The wings were good, our waitress was great. The problem was because we were a large group of about 16. There was not enough room for us to sit at one table, so we were sitting at three separate tables, not a problem. We ordered as three separate tables, but when the bill came, it was made into one bill. At no time were we told that we couldn't separate the bill, nor were we told that it had to all be on one card. Our issue was what if we were a large group who was at a conference or something and came to eat together we would never expect each other to pay the other person's bill. We were told that because the orders are written by hand they could not be split. But you split them when you wrote them you did not write them as one order you took them from each table, especially ours which was across the room. We all felt bad for the server because she did an awesome job, then a young lady came over with a kind of take charge attitude, who was not as nice as the server, and proceeded to tell us that it's their policy, which was not stated anywhere. If you have policy it is easier for people to follow it if it's posted somewhere. She explained to us that because of their POS, they are not able to split the bills, but they could split the payment across three different credit cards. We were originally told it had to go on one credit card. If you could split the payment across three different credit cards., then why not the three different tables. We thought that since it was written up as one, that was why they couldn't split it after, if it had been written as three separate tables, it could've been paid for as three separate tables. They said they're not allowed to split groups that come in as 10, we came in at 16 so the table of six would've been outside that amount of 10. As stated if the policy was explained from the beginning, we would've had no problem with it, the policy was only explained after everything was done that way. The other table said they did ask if the bill could be split . Again, nothing against the server she was by herself and did an awesome job. read more

This place is pretty well known for its wings . I think their wings are pretty good. I wouldn't say they are Jamestown's best, but they are up there. Burgers are meh and not the biggest. Pizza logs are really good. I'd rate it pretty average bar food. The staff is hit or miss on friendliness. The place can get super busy with bro dudes late on weekend nights. read more

My family and I love the Cherry. The wings are really good and hit the spot. It looks like a dive bar from the outside, but inside it's not divey at all- just a little on the older side. I've only had the wings there and they always hit the spot. Our waitress on Friday evening was very friendly and attentive. I don't really have anything negative to say, except in weekend nights it can get crowded, but what do you expect for a bar? I would be more concerned if it wasn't busy. 1/10 DO NOT RECCOMEND! The server was rude and unpleasant . My one friend who has autism ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and some fries , but because of her handicap she didn't like the fries . They were really over cooked . So she asked for a new batch (which mind you was really hard for her to do because of her autism and she was overstimulated and fidgeting). Upon request the server said she'd get them new fries but was rude about it. This made my friend feel bad like they weren't in the right for asking for new fries . Then upon paying I wanted to split how I was paying for my drink. So I asked if I could do $3 on my card and $2 in cash. The server was rude and ignorant, she was scoffing saying they couldn't do that when the bill was only $5. So she "tried" and said my card declined , which I know was a lie . I know for a fact she didn't try because all of my banking is on my phone and if my card declined it would've sent me a notification to my phone . So, I was forced to borrow money from my friends because she refused to meet my request. I used to waitress , so I know she could have done what I ask, she just refused to take the time . Then as I went back to my table I overheard the server mocking me to another costumer calling me "poor", which isn't the case at all. I actually make 6 figures , I just payed all my bills and was only left with like $3 on my card after. Which was also none of her business . They had 7 seats at the bar open and when we asked if 6 of us could sit at the bar the guy running the place shook his head and condescendingly said "no that takes up almost my whole bar" and turned us away. This was my second visit. We had the chili, onion rings, and chicken wings. The rings and wings were good, hands down. As a matter of fact, the onion rings were among the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, the chili was barely warm. We finished with cheesecake and coffee. The cheesecake was spot on. Unfortunately, again however, the coffee was lukewarm. Stopped here the other day because most of the reviews raved about the wings. I had no time to eat at work all day and was starving. There was barely anyone there when we got there and we sat at a hightop in the bar. It took ten minutes for the server to even come over to us. Once she gave us menus she proceeded to clean something on the floor and just kept walking by us like we weren't there. She then proceeded to stand behind the bar and chat with the bartender rather than take our order. There was literally one other person there and it was so dead that the chef was sitting at a hightop watching tv. It took her 20 minutes if not more to take our food order. I wanted to just leave but my fiancé got a soda so we would have had to wait for her to bring the check for the drink and who knows how long that would have took. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad, I wanted to try the wings but she said 15 min minimum for them to cook and I just couldn't wait anymore. My fiancé got a burger. The salad was mediocre at best. There was barely any chicken on it, some of the lettuce was wilted, and there was maybe a tsp. of hot sauce drizzled on the top. My fiancé said his burger was good.
