Hargo charged us $199.99 plus tax for a service call to work on our Wolf range hood which stopped…read morefunctioning. The technician was not able to access the components due to the way the chimney was installed. He therefore was not able to diagnose the problem, but still charged us $200 plus tax. He told us that if he could access the components on a future visit, there would be no charge for his return service call. The technician was pleasant, but seemed to have limited knowledge about Wolf hoods, and did not contact Wolf technical services, which could have been helpful. Later, Jolene K called, and introduced herself as the "CEO of Hargo". When I looked her up, I found that her official title is actually "manager/customer response contact". She told me that if the technician came back, there would be a charge for his visit (minimum of $90), despite him telling me that there would be no charge. She also said his work would not be warranteed, and strongly discouraged me from having him come back, calling the whole thing a "sticky situation". She advised purchasing a new range hood. I told her a replacement hood would cost over $4000 with installation. She again strongly advised against having the technician come back out, and was unpleasant to the point that I thought she was going to say "we refuse to come back to work on your range hood". Very disappointing and unprofessional. Needless to say, I will never use Hargo again.

I opened my 1and 1/2-year-old Frigidaire refrigerator one morning recently and the light wasn't on…read moreand the fridge was clearly not working, what a bummer. I looked around for some repair services online and the best I could get was a week away, from Hogans. Then somehow Dick's Appliances popped up on my screen and I gave him a call. As he looked through his schedule I was thinking, oh man, I hope this guy doesn't make me wait a week also, then he said, "I can be there around 3:00 today, "Awesome I responded." Not having a fridge really sucks. Then he called back to say he could be over at 11:00 AM. "Great." I had the fridge pulled out and the bottom cover off. He immediately noticed that something down there wasn't even plugged in. When he plugged it I think we both expected the fridge to start humming, but we got nothing. Then he said, "your fridge must be in defrost mode." He pulled out a straight edge screwdriver, and under the cover, in the middle of the top of the fridge section, he turned a screw about 1/4 turn and, "Hmmmmm! Music to my ears. It was a simple fix and my worries of having to buy a new fridge melted away. His name is actually Dave and he was in and out in 10 minutes. Fantastic. He could have ripped me off and said all kinds of things were wrong with the unit but he's an honest guy. Thanks, Dave. Well Done. I will always call him first for any kind of appliance repair.

It had died and would have been more cost effective to get a new or used one rather than repairing the one I had. He said he has some used but reconditioned dryers at his place and I went to look at them and chose one very close to the one I had. They came back within a day to take my old one and set me new one! I just mentioned the door to the dryer was on the other side than my old one and without even knowing it could be changed, Tommy changed the direction of the door to make it more convenient for me!!!
