Back in Okc and I had to make the drive out to Cherokee Trading Post, once again. I remember coming to Cherokee as a child, each time I enter it reminds me of home. Loads of treasure inside this unassuming building, including the always friendly employees. Handcrafted jewelry & pottery, leather goods, wallets, boots, moccasins, wind chimes, kids toys, knives, art, clothing & shoes for everyone plus much, much more! You can also find gasoline, great food & photo ops just outside the Cherokee Trading Post doors.

Fun little shop with lots of beautiful things. Got a Myra cup I absolutely love. Clean bathrooms

It doesn't look like much, but it is very much worth stopping in at if you want a decent stretch break in the middle of nowhere. The gift shop is fairly extensive. Go to the building in back, not the gas station. There is live buffalo out back too! It's a tiny tourist trap, but with decent prices and a good stretch break. Friendly staff too!

You just have to stop here. It's a great tourist trappy style gift shop and gas station. I got a really beautiful copper ring in the gift shop. There was a lot of cool stuff for sale, great selection of jewelry. Fun for taking pictures!

    One sad cold live Buffalo

The hundreds of billboards advertising for this place make it sound a lot cooler than it is. And the lone, cold Buffalo I saw made me quite sad.

Stopped in after a rigorous hike at Red Rock Canyon. We had our dog with us, so I ran in and placed a to-go order. 2 buffalo cheeseburgers, 1 order of fries, 1 order of onion rings, 1 plain buffalo patty (for the pup) and one chocolate chip cookie (I saw the dessert case and the waves of temptation washed over me). Burgers and onion rings are excellent and not greasy which was appreciated! Fries were a bit bland. The cookie was great! The waitress told me all desserts are homemade except the cheesecake and you can tell by the look and taste. Very clean-looking establishment, and the waitress who took my order was beyond friendly. There are shelves of local or almost-local jams, peppers, and honey if you feel like bringing home an edible souvenir. My only gripe - the place is HUGE, but no outdoor seating of any kind. Not even some picnic tables. When you're taking a long road trip, it's nice to sit outside on nice days - not totally uncommon to see this in a "rest stop" type of area. Definitely worth the stop if you are along the way!

They even have some live buffalo in the pasture next to the restaurant to admire.

I was surprised because normally there's mainly vegetables I'm allergic too. So I was excited to hear I could eat this. When I got my food there was zucchini and squash as well as the other vegetables she said. I probably should have mentioned I was allergic to certain veg that's why I was asking but she said they weren't in there and I didn't wanna talk too much. She was great I'm not blaming her it's just something to know. But I did pick them out I ate the food I was 6/10 but it did end up leaving me sick so I assume it was all cooked together. My boyfriend got the backed potato with pulled pork, it was very cold. And didn't have much flavor. He was not happy at all!

Everything was pretty pricy in my mind. I ordered the all American burger without cheese ( charged me the same price as with cheese). It came on a nice bun with lettuce, onion, tomato and mustard along with a side of fries. Burger was cooked good but could have used a little seasoning. The fries were ok. Wife ordered the chicken breast sandwich on a ciabatta bun with fries. Again it could have used a little salt but was a really nice sized portion and very crispy. It came with fries as well. Ordered an app. They gave a special. You can order two apps and get a half order of each mixed on a plate which we did. We got the breaded fried mushrooms(very nice size and breaded great). The dill pickles were sliced length wise and breaded. Great flavor just a touch salty. It's a country atmosphere with country music playing. They have a full bar but it is partitioned off from the rest of the place. Large big screen TVs with sports programming. Our server was very nice and checked on us often.

My sister had the onion burger, I had an onion burger with chili and we shared an order of onion rings (yes, onion overload but we love onions). It was pretty busy, one poor waitress running her tail off while a man, who I supposed was the owner by the way he was acting, did nothing... literally, nothing to help. When our food came, I realized I needed a knife or I was going to have chili dripping all over me. She was so busy, I couldn't get her attention. Attempted to wave the owner over but he ignored me. No refills on our drinks offered. Had to wait a bit for our check. It was disappointing to see that the onion rings were of the run of the mill frozen type. In a place like this I expected hand dipped and fried rings like they had in the 70's... so disappointing! The burgers were just "meh"... no seasoning at all, so quite bland. Not sure what all the hype is about, honestly. Skip it, don't be reeled in by the charm of Route 66 like we were.

That led us back to Biglow's Burgers, and once again, they didn't disappoint. If you're on the hunt for one of the best burgers or sandwiches in OKC, this place absolutely deserves a spot on your list. Even though we've visited several times, this was our first time trying the fried pickles. Crispy, golden, and with just the right kick of heat -- easily some of the better ones I've had around town. We decided to split "The Holy Cow," and wow... what a sandwich. It's basically Oklahoma comfort food done right: a hand-breaded, tenderized chicken fried steak served on a buttery grilled brioche bun, piled with shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and mayo. Messy in the best possible way. It comes with hand-cut fries, which were fresh and perfectly cooked. We skipped the seasoning and salted them ourselves (personal preference), and they were spot on. One heads up -- some menu items have limited availability, so if you're craving something specific, don't wait too long. Bottom line: great food, generous portions, and that classic local joint vibe that keeps you coming back. We'll definitely be back again soon. Comfort food done right.

My only main complaint was for some reason the floor felt like I was walking on a bowling alley with socks and I was afraid someone was going to fall.
