Favorite stop to shop and stretch for a bit. This is the one with the t pee outside. Closes to Clinton and OKC. My reason is they have a room to the side of ladies clothes. Not just the normal souvenir t shirts. Lots of stylish design shirts. In the middle room they do have the men's t shirts too. Have okla or Indian designs. Plenty of jewelry, souvenirs, misc. Great place to come to if your anywhere near Clinton. read more

Was absolutely disappointed here. Sad that the Indians are buying from china, Pakistan, Taiwan to name a couple to put in their "Indian heritage" store. We drove through in 2020 and 2021 and two days ago. The change in some of the clothing and prices were absolutely ridiculous! $175 for a skirt that "somewhat appears" to be native, but made in china. A beautiful native looking jacket made in Pakistan. This breaks my heart. read more

Back in Okc and I had to make the drive out to Cherokee Trading Post, once again. I remember coming to Cherokee as a child, each time I enter it reminds me of home. Loads of treasure inside this unassuming building, including the always friendly employees. Handcrafted jewelry & pottery, leather goods, wallets, boots, moccasins, wind chimes, kids toys, knives, art, clothing & shoes for everyone plus much, much more! It doesn't look like much, but it is very much worth stopping in at if you want a decent stretch break in the middle of nowhere. The gift shop is fairly extensive. Go to the building in back, not the gas station. There is live buffalo out back too! It's a tiny tourist trap, but with decent prices and a good stretch break. Friendly staff too! read more

Lots of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Staff were very helpful. We hot a big set of cow horns and some gifts.

I totally scored here. Okay, they have Pendleton blankets, purses, etc. They have the standard Indian Trading Post stuff, But I found an onyx shot glass (for my shot glass collection), onyx eggs, etc at a good price. I truly scored in the clothes. I found 2 lightweight jackets that I can wear to court (I'm an attorney), and a sweater. The prices were decent and the style cool. Stopped in after a rigorous hike at Red Rock Canyon. We had our dog with us, so I ran in and placed a to-go order. 2 buffalo cheeseburgers, 1 order of fries, 1 order of onion rings, 1 plain buffalo patty (for the pup) and one chocolate chip cookie (I saw the dessert case and the waves of temptation washed over me). Burgers and onion rings are excellent and not greasy which was appreciated! Fries were a bit bland. The cookie was great! The waitress told me all desserts are homemade except the cheesecake and you can tell by the look and taste. Very clean-looking establishment, and the waitress who took my order was beyond friendly. There are shelves of local or almost-local jams, peppers, and honey if you feel like bringing home an edible souvenir. My only gripe - the place is HUGE, but no outdoor seating of any kind. Not even some picnic tables. When you're taking a long road trip, it's nice to sit outside on nice days - not totally uncommon to see this in a "rest stop" type of area. Cherokee Restaurant? Not sure how Cherokee-style it is but it's quite good for a western Oklahoma roadside restaurant. First salad bar since Covid, and it's ingredients were fresh and high quality. Catfish fillets were prepared deliciously. I didn't see anything particularly Cherokee on the menu but I do recommend this place if you are coming through. read more

On the rare occasion that we head out westward past Oklahoma City, it's almost de rigueur for us to stop in here and grab a buffalo burger. This place (kitschy "Indian" gifts and all) has been here for decades upon decades, and it's about the only thing in Geary, Oklahoma worth stopping for. We usually get the same waitress when we drop in here, and she's always friendly and chatty. read more

Flying all morning by the time I landed and headed out from Oklahoma City on i40 west I was getting hungry and decided to get dinner at the Cherokee Restaurant. What a great surprise. The 8oz Ribeye rivaled steaks I've had at Smith and Wollensky, for a fraction of the cost. I also highly recommend the pie. I prefer pumpkin. It was homemade and so was the whipped cream. I'm not the only one, there was a family of 5 that came in and only ordered pie! Something for everyone. The staff was busy but very polite. If you are on this stretch of highway looking for a bite to eat this is well worth it! Definitely coming back. read more

Nice pit stop to get out and stretch your legs and grab some grub and shop a bit. Lots of local indian crafts and jewelry and stuff to look at. Clean restrooms and a friendly staff if you are looking for anything particular. Prices are OK not as good as going to some of the smaller places or catching the locals out selling in the street but there is a variety here and they have some nice pottery. read more

Stopped in here with the whole family and alot of empty stomachs! The staff seemed to be ready for us, moving tables to accommodate. Our waitress was very nice and every order came out hot, quick and correct. I was impressed..after eating we took our children out to see the live buffalo in the back and take some pictures of them among the statues that surround the place. Then on to the store where there was a variety of oddities to check out. I loved seeing the artwork, crafts, jewelry, gag gifts, cactus candy...there was something around every corner. Amazing artwork and neat gift ideas. Big store with lots to choose from on a nice Saturday out shopping.. I saw a couple things for my mom and grandma back home in Ohio. The BEST fried chicken and lemon meringue pie is served in the restaurant here! And they have one of the best stores that sell Native American art and craft works. I've spend a small fortune here buying art and t-shirts during my trips to OKC. You must have a meal here. It's good ole Oklahoma home cooking at its best! They even have some live buffalo in the pasture next to the restaurant to admire. The staff is very nice too. They make the Cherokee Trading Post special. So get on down here and check it out.
