She was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, ensuring that my mother was scheduled promptly given the urgency of her condition. (updating my 5 star review) So I didnt ask to be born and life is not exciting for me however, I am a HUGE fan of making sure while I have to live it, Its as comfortable as possible. I have NO problem talking to a professional if I feel dread or abnormal anxiety to discuss diagnoses/solution. My dread in an uncertain world was at max capacity recently; I called Dr Cherik and even though he was booked solid, realizing severity, squeezed me in. We bumped up a med accordingly and in just a few days, I noticed SUCH a more positive improvement. Dr does NOT over subscribe and he knows what hes doing. Its been 20 + years Ive been going to him for anxiety and 20 years later we graduated to another medication as it was time. I called the office to make an appointment and the office assistant and her supervisor were both rude and inpolite. I have Anthem Blue Cross Medicare PPO. They kept asking me what is my primary Anthem or Medicare? If this is the doctor representation in making appointments, all I have to say is that his personnel are unprofessional and discourteous. I told them that I called my insurance and it was Anthem who gave me the name of the doctor who is in the network. The lady who didn't identify herself was argumentative and impolite. After years of struggle with anxiety, trying alternative ways, I found Dr. Armen from Yelp. I noticed that the complainers mostly judge the office rather than the doctor and their judgment didn't sound reasonable mostly. So I made an appointment and when I visited the office I found the front girl very polite and I was surprised that there were so many negative reviews about her. Then I visited Dr Cherick and found him a no nonsense type of guy and I liked that. He gave me a prescription followed by another one which I suggested and he agreed. It made a world of difference in my life. My daughter also suffered from anxiety and even panic attacks. I asked her to visit Dr Armen and we did so. OMG, why didn't we find him 5 years ago? My daughter suffered for so many years and now she is the happiest person ever. She quitted alcohol and Adderall and she runs 7 miles everyday and she has zero anxiety. Her work ethics have improved drastically. I find so many reviews here so misleading. Yes sometimes it takes a little longer to get in and also wait inside until the doctor enters the room, but that doesn't bother me. HE IS AMAZING!!! Avoid this practice at all costs! The ladies at the front desk are lying thieves. They dilute the botox before patients get their injections. If you look at their over-botoxed faces, it will be very obvious where YOUR actual botox is being injected. The doctor is personable, but it seems like he checked out a long time ago. Everyone knows that there is definitely something fishy about the fact that syringes are prepared with no botox jar in sight prior to injections. It is normally very painful it is to get the injections... At this facility, you feel absolutely nothing! God knows what they put inside the syringes, most likely water because you don't feel a thing. Injecting patients with diluted botox is illegal, unethical and down right dangerous. I will never step foot in Dr. Cherick's pracrice again and have warned everyone not to go to this shady office with unprofessional thief employees. I have had seizures my whole life. My parents didn't want to believe anything could be "wrong" with their child so they ignored the issue. Told me I had seizures "from stress" even went as far as to have a doctor tell me that people can have seizures "from stress" and that it does not have to be a big deal.. I had serious depression and felt like I would have months of not feeling alive. Tons of time has passed in my life I do not remember. I would get sleepy, and lay down and come to after some time. Even while driving, I would just feel sleepy, pull over "nap" and then when I felt better, go back to driving... I thought I was "spacey" most of my life. Some people in my life convinced me that my parents had to be wrong and that I needed help. I told Dr. Cherik about the seizures and how I had felt. He immediately diagnosed me with epilepsy. I have seizures consistently, therefore I have epilepsy. It's not I have epilepsy, therefore I have seizures, he explained. I cried, I think I knew I had epilepsy my whole life but didn't even want to believe it, because to me, it meant "something was wrong with me" epilepsy runs in my family, so this diagnosis made a lot of sense. Dr. Cherik helped me understand and feel better. He helped me navigate through the stressful time of adjusting. After being seizure free and on medication for 6 months he even helped me get my license back. He prescribed me vimpat, which is a newer epilepsy medication that helps me, I have zero side effects from my medication! I can take my medication with any other medicine or vitamins I may need in life. He even helped me make sure my insurance would do their job and cover it. I'm so lucky to have found such a great neurologist to help me navigate through being epileptic. Since being on epilepsy medication I have felt like I finally started living. I feel present all of the time, haven't had any long deep low depression times. I just cannot say enough how grateful I am to have Dr. Cherik. He is a great doctor, very knowledgeable, and so willing to listen and help. Also! The staff is super on top of their game, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers are referring too. The staff is awful, and have bad attitude. They keep botching the referral and approval. After wating for the whole month. I told her I need a specific physical therapy place.Instead of helping me navigate through the system, she started to push it on the primary physican teling me about wrong referral procedure, she then started to accuse me for having an attitude. Later on, one of the staff member called me that my insurance has refused to approve an important injection after calling my insurance company, I found out that the clerk did not fax the necessary document therefore they had to postpone the appointment again . i then called to office to make sure the appoinment is on. i found out its posponed because they didn't order the injecable drug. she immediately opened up with condesending "Oh, Gawd" attitude as if that was MY fault. I am writing this review for Dr. Armen Cherik on the behalf of my grandfather. My grandfather was a patient of Dr. Cherik because of vertigo and mild memory loss. I had taken him to see several neurologists over the years but it was never the best fit until we found Dr. Cherik. My grandfather and my family felt very comfortable with Dr. Cherik. The office was organized and efficient, results of tests were communicated in a timely manner and Dr. Cherik was very knowledgeable and accurate with his assessment and explained things very clearly. I was referred to Dr. Armen by my insurance company and my neurosurgeon for an EMG test. Let me just say, the office staff is AWESOME!!! They did whatever it took (which was a lot) to get the authorization and get me in within 3 days of the request. I had the test today and met Dr. Armen for the first time. What a nice man, and a great and understanding doctor. He told me what was happening every step of the way, including which level of my neck was causing the nerve problems. I am so thankful to him and his staff for getting me in so quick, and for doing the test so thoroughly, I even found out I have moderate carpal tunnel, which we had no idea about. Now I can go on to get my neck surgery with complete knowledge of the nerve issues prior, and hopefully will be corrected with the surgery. Thank you Dr. Armen and your office staff! I am shocked to read the reviews below. I had gone to Doctor Cherik's office for a head concussion I endured from a terrible fall. The scheduling of the appointment and time spent in the office was typical of any doctor's office a patient goes into. People who complain about the "long wait" who are suffering from pain shouldn't be waiting for an appointment for a doctor. If their medical situation is serious they SHOULD DEFINITELY go to the ER. The doctor spent about 15 minutes with me in the office and listened to any concerns I had. He offered me insightful and helpful advice. I kept delaying this review but not going to wait any longer... Here it is Greatly dissappointed in Dr Cherik and his staff. I have been to his office twice and felt like I am alone in the issue I am having and the doctor could care less. My first visit: I didn't get an answer to why I am having the issue and Dr Cherick just told me to take a vitamin and walked out of the room without letting me even ask a question. I left but my condition kept getting worse so 6 months after I decided to go back to him just because I figured he has my test results from last time and it will be easy. Second visit: still don't have an answer because again he could care less. The evidence of that is that I haven't heard from him in over 6 weeks. When I was in the office he told me he had to get my test results from the lab that was closed for the day. He said he would call me the NEXT business day to discuss the results over the phone. He told me this through the door of the room I was in and walked away again without letting me say anything or ask a question. 4 business days passed and I called the office since I didn't get a call. His employee ( I believe she said her name was Amy) could care less about what I said. She told me the doctor wasn't planning to call me because he wants to get an authorization from my insurance to discuss my results in the office. I told her I need to speak to him before making another appointment and asked for him to call me back. She said he won't call me because they are working on the authorization. Her attitude was rude and she sounded like she was not going to bother telling him I called. So it's been 3 weeks since I got the authorization and neither the Doctor nor any of his employees have bothered to call me to ask how I am doing, discuss my results or to schedule appointment. I know they do not know me but their treatment makes me feel so bad. I get they are busy but that is no excuse for ignoring a patient who needs their help. I work in a medical field as well and I have a giant note pad in front of my phone that I write notes about each patient that calls and needs help. I may not have the time to get to it that same day, but I definelty won't forget about them and disregard their need or request. This is an unacceptable treatment for a medical establishment. read more

After reading the previous reviews on Dr Cherik I was hesitant about scheduling an appt with him but due to my insurance he was the only one contracted within reasonable distance from my house. I had an appointment for a consultation visit last week which I almost cancelled but I ended up going in. And let me tell you how glad I am to have met Dr Cherik. He is very approachable and knowledgable. He answered my questions with great detail and explained my options for my condition. Next step was for his staff to get an authorization for a diagnostic exam. He told me to wait for a call regarding the approval within the coming week. I got a call 2 days after my appt from his friendly staff notifying me of the approved authorization. The girls were friendly and very helpful.
