I suffered from extremely severe headaches. Then I met Dr. Mobin, who explained that my headaches were caused by a herniated cervical disc pressing on a nerve. I underwent surgery. The surgery involved cutting through the front of my neck, rather than the back, to avoid damaging the nerves. After the surgery, my headaches were completely gone. I'm truly grateful to Dr. Mobin. Dr. Mobin is WONDERFUL! You won't feel rushed and Dr. Mobin won't push you to get surgery. I had tried alternative treatments with other doctors and physical therapy for months.. nothing was helping. Surgery was my last resort. Even though surgery is a very scary thing for me, Dr. Mobin and his staff made me feel extremely at ease the day of the procedure. From the reviews I've read, I really wish I would have had a chance to see Dr. Mobin. But, unfortunately due to his staff and an insane amount of wait time I never got a chance! So this review is based on his office staff, and lack of professionalism, and time management. As we all know We're in the middle of a pandemic, and medical facilities have been asked not to over crowd or overbook and over lap appointments. As someone with a severe autoimmune disorder, and compromised immune system, I make sure I'm on time (early for the most part) and ready to be seen at my set appointment time (or at least within the first 15-20 minutes after arrival) I fill out the questionnaires before I arrive days ahead, so that they're ready by the time My appointment comes around. I do my part... Yet, his staff just left me waiting 45 minute passed my appointment time. Didn't even have the decency to inform me he was running late on his appointments, and when I informed them I had another appointment (set with a 2 hour window span between each other) that I had pushed back to make this appointment possible, they rudely tell me I have no other option but to wait or reschedule. After just having me wait.... like who in their right mind would want to reschedule when that's the type of service and treatment provided?! And why set a specific time for an appointment in the first place if you're going to take in other patients that arrived after you, with the apparent same time, or a 15 minute gap (after my appointment time) ....obviously, His office staff needs to get it together and manage their appointments a bit better. It's rude, careless, and inconsiderate! Especially, when the patient's health could be at risk, they have a schedule to keep, and they made the long drive in traffic to make it in to the office, put the effort to be early, and never got around to be seeing. Time is a precious commodity... And they really shouldn't waste people's time that way!!! So, I would suggest to make sure you have nowhere else to be and clear your whole day's schedule if you make an appointment here, be prepared for a 2/3 hour wait (which I was informed about after patiently waiting 45 minutes) because they don't value their patients time, nor have respect or concern over their schedules. read more

I just had my L4-L5 Anterior Interspinous Fusion Surgery also referred to as (TLIF) 1 month ago with Dr. Mobin. The surgery went perfectly thus far & the vertebrae's feel very stable. The recovery process so far is exceptional: Days 1-4 I was walking with a walker 15 minutes a day, Days 4-10 I was walking with a cane 30 minutes a day, days 10 & on I am walking without assistance for 1 hour a day. The pain is nearly all gone, the radicular weakness & numbness in my legs & toes have all gone away. I am so thankful for Dr. Mobin, he has given my life back to me. I was very scared to have this surgery, but now I wish I would have done it sooner as I am out of pain & on the road to a full 100% recovery. Dr.Mobin did great work on my spine. Excellent & caring surgeon. He didn't give me the Patrick Bateman "American psycho" vibes like I got from most spine surgeons who I felt were willing to cut me up just for the fun of it!! Haha gross!! He really knows his stuff and is super calm & detailed & discussed all my options for years while we exercised all conservative options before cutting me open. I was recommended for so many different types of procedures from doctors far and wide and I sure did my homework and brought all these options to Mobin who was patient enough to discuss them all with me - zero ego about it - just a straight conversation about what could work and why. His offices were super hectic while they were moving but I am glad they found a new space that works for them. Private operating room in Beverly Hills - pretty fancy. My only constructive feedback is that I wish their office support was a bit more robust - getting reports and paperwork always seemed like a quite a task but I think they're running a pretty lean operation (no pun intended!) I am pretty sure this isnt a surgeon who is making a few million a year and passing off insane bills to patients. Ended up being a pretty reasonably priced surgery all things considered. I was referred to Dr. Mobin by my attorney as a second choice. In 2012 I was hit by a car which left me with a considerable amount of back pain. I had 3 damaged disk and no matter what I tried to help- I couldn't get better on my own. I did not like the first doctor I was referred by my attorney, even though I was in a great deal of pain, because I could hear the first doctor telling others in the hallway they were going to get a fusion. That doctor didn't even look at my MRI with me. My attorney understood and told me he would take his children to Dr. Mobin and that he knew I'd like him. When I arrived Dr. Mobin shared a considerable amount of information with me about how he though a fusion wasn't right for someone my age. He expressed to me that there were alternative surgeries that could offer me more mobility in my future and leave a fusion as a last resort. He went over recovery time with me and allowed me to schedule at my convenience with him. I didn't feel rushed to have my body altered. My surgery was in his old location in Marina Del Ray and it went all according to plan. The best part was the next morning when I got a call from him and was given his personal cell for any complications- which I used once and he called me right back. Apparently I'm one of those people who get a mild fever for weeks after anesthetist. He explained to me what was happening and I was fine. Through my follow ups he assured me I was getting better- though in my own mind I wanted it to be faster. I did take a little bit longer to get back to full recovery than I anticipated. Everyone's body heals at a different pace and mine just heals a little bit slower. But I remember the day I hit 30 days pain free on my calendar. I called Dr. Mobin to thank him. I seriously thought I was going to be in agony the rest of my life after being hit by a car. I can't even express to anyone how much pain I was actually in. Some days I couldn't even get out of bed it was so terrible. And once I had to call an ambulance to get out of my living room floor. I was also afraid I was going to miss out on things I love- like walking, running, hiking, and bike riding. Dr. Mobin's surgery got be back on track in my life and has given me a promising future. I've started resuming athletic activities and most importantly I can sit at my desk once again. Because of this accident I actually worked for over a year laying flat on my stomach in my living room floor. I remember the day I put the chair back in front of my computer and was able to sit for the first 3 hours pain free. Now I sit at my desk all day again and I have no pain. I missed so much of my life the past 1.5 years and I'm looking forward to the summer to finally start doing things with my friends again. I am eternally thankful for the surgery Dr. Mobin gave me and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking spinal surgery. Not because I had a good experience- but because he is a good doctor. I have to admit I never thought i would have to even be writing a review on a Neurosurgeon but Dr. Mobin made me a believer in miracles! I am not exaggerating at all i have lived with spinal back problems for over 20 years and i never wanted surgery especially on my back. I had a cousin who ended up in a wheel chair for the rest of his life due to a spinal disk surgery, that always was in the back of my mind when i was told over and over that i needed surgery to get out of the sever pain i suffered daily. I could write a book on how many chiropractors, physical therapist, pain management doctors, acupuncture and epidural treatments i've had over the years. None of them were ever long lasting or even worked for more than a few months but i finally reached a point in my older age where the damage was so severe on my lower lumbar L-4, L-5 & S-1 disks that i had no other alternative but to seek help since i was now suffering from sciatica and numbing going down my right leg. I suffered from back pain for over a year before seeing Dr. Mobin. All of my previous doctors kept telling me to continue with PT but I knew there was something going on in my body that PT wouldn't fix. I've always been very active but when it got to the point when I could no longer walk more than 5-10 minutes without extreme pain, I knew I had to find a surgeon. I was diagnosed with unstable spondylothesis and foraminal stenosis. Dr. Mobin performed decompression with an Interspinous Fusion at L4/5 on an outpatient basis at Bay Cities Surgery center in Torrance. I went home the same day and was off work for 2 months. I am about 9 months into my recovery. I am feeling so much better and have been able to resume my active lifestyle of walking daily, doing yoga and Pilates, and I went snow skiing twice this year already without any issues. Dr. Mobin has operated on me twice. First in 2009, i had a C5-6,7 microdiscectomy/foraminotomy for a ruptured disc. This surgery was an outpatient procedure, i missed one day of work and returned to the gym/lifting weights--my hobby--at about 2 weeks. My results continue to be excellent 5 years later. In 2013, i had an L5-S1 discetomy/posterior interbody fusion for spondylolisthesis. This was an inpatient procedure, but i was out of the hospital in about 36 hours. i was off work for about 2 weeks and returned to the gym at post op week 9--not feeling great, but whatever. At one year, which was January 31, 2014, I am 100% recovered with absolutely no residual symptoms. I am pretty much back to where I was with respect to lifting weights (squats 305 lbs x 10, for those in the know) before the L5-S1 injury flared up in 2012. I am an orthopaedic subspecialty surgeon myself, so i know the complication rates and dismal outcomes of spine surgery. Having undergone two fairly technical spine procedures, with minimal incisions and muscle sparing techniques affording faster recovery, and MOST IMPORTANTLY with EXCELLENT RESULTS, I would recommend and refer any family member, friend or patient to Dr. Mobin. You aren't going to find a more competent spine surgeon in LA--or probably anywhere. read more
