We met Dr. Min on July 4th in the Cedars-Sinai Beverly Hills ER, where she was the on-call plastic surgeon. Our 3-year-old son was involved in an unfortunate accident that left him with a very large cut starting at the inside of his eyebrow and extending up into his forehead. It was a situation no parent wants to experience, but we were so fortunate to have Dr. Min taking care of him. From the moment she met with us, she took the time to explain every step of the procedure, answered all of our questions clearly, and never made us feel rushed. Her kind demeanor helped make a difficult situation much more comforting. It was obvious that she genuinely cared not only about our son, but about us as parents as well. After the procedure, Dr. Min didn't rush off. She stayed to check on our son, made sure we understood the aftercare instructions, and answered every question we had. She also made herself available in case any concerns came up after we got home. My experience (2021): * Over two days Dr. Min pressured me into accepting Cortiva/AlloDerm (cadaver-skin "acellular dermal matrix") even after I said no. She promised it would "shrink into my body" and be harmless. * Reality: this material is permanent scaffolding sewn to my rib-cage wall. It does not dissolve, and removing it later is a surgical nightmare that costs far more than the original operation. * She never warned me that: * Any future infection--or even smoking--can trigger a catastrophic reaction in this mesh. * Once Cortiva is vascularized you may lose the option of using your own rib cartilage for later reconstruction. * Very few U.S. surgeons will attempt explanting it because the risk of necrosis and rib damage is so high. * Her staff belittled surgeons who refuse ADM, calling them "not on her skill level," yet Dr. Min herself lacks the skill to remove the product she implants. When complications appeared she went silent and refused further care. Today I live with chronic pain, chest restriction, and the prospect of flying overseas for a high-risk explant that most American doctors won't touch. The breast implant itself was less permanent than the "support" Dr. Min sold me. Yes, some patients do fine with ADM, but many--especially outside the U.S.--consider its use over-hyped and misused here. Ask Dr. Min how many she has successfully removed after five years. Ask her about the vascularization risk. Ask what happens if you ever need another surgery. I wish someone had warned me. I'm warning you now: demand full disclosure, get second opinions, and think twice before letting salesmanship override science. Wow. How lucky am I to have found Dr. Min. My friend recommended me to check out Cassileth's office as it was a woman led business. I got a consultant with Dr. Min. I met with Gina, her care coordinator , and we immediately connected. She's kind and genuine. Met with Dr. Min and she is just knows exactly what my body needed. I obviously came in with preconceived notions as to what I wanted and she went over what would work for my body and what wouldn't. I cannot recommend Dr. Min enough. I had implants placed by a different surgeon two years ago who convinced me to get much larger than I had wanted (700ccs). My 5'3 115lb frame was much too small for this. I instantly regretted it, but could not afford to reverse it until recently. I began to experience a plethora of BII symptoms--the mental impact of that and the disfigurement of my body was quite immense. I found Dr. Min through extensive research and liked her emphasis on minimal scarring and was very impressed with her gallery. I opted for an explant and muscle repair without a lift. She walked me through everything very thoroughly, preparing me both mentally and physically for the procedure. When I came in for the surgery, Dr. Min and her team had incredible bedside manner and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and reduce any anxieties. I am 4.5 months post-op from a breast reduction that Dr. Min performed. I have been impressed from the first time I spoke with her team. For more context, Dr. Min was my fifth consult and in every way, she was better than the rest. Starting from the beginning, her patient coordinator (Gina, who is wonderful) talked me through the basic information on at least one in-depth phone call before even scheduling an in-person consultation. She told me about the way Dr. Min works, the general range of the procedure costs, the various steps and appointments that would follow, the methods Dr. Min uses, and more. The things that I learned in a phone call with her were things other practices wouldn't share until I had an in-person (and usually paid) consultation. The transparency and care started immediately. During the in-person consult, Dr. Min listened to what I wanted and was honest about what was and wasn't possible to plan. She spoke about aftercare and how she operates to limit scarring and improve recovery time. By the time the consult was over, having learned so much before stepping in the door, I was confident she was the surgeon for me and I booked that day. Before the surgery, Dr. Min and Gina were extremely helpful preparing me with information on what to expect, how to plan, and getting me ready. One of the other aspects that made me select working with Dr. Min was that the surgery center and anesthesiologists she works with are known to her, high quality, and provide excellent care. Some places use surgery centers and don't have a say in the anesthesiologists they work with. I wanted a surgeon who had an anesthesiologist they trusted and knew. On surgery day, Dr. Min reviewed the plan, was cheerful and on top of things, and made me feel at ease. Mr. Min told me that a lot of patients tell her after that the thought of the surgery and recovery were worse than the actual thing...very true! When I woke up from surgery I was not in pain. They observed me and answered my questions even when I kept asking the same ones (forgetting I asked was a side effect of the anesthesia). Dr. Min called later that night to check on me and again the next day. I was checked-in on repeatedly in the days between my procedure and the appointment a week later. The day after the surgery I was mobile and with it. I never needed to take the opioid pain killers there were prescribed just in case. I worked from home for a week because she uses a prevana vac to help with recovery and minimal scarring and it comes with a little pack you have to carry around (which is easier at home). Anytime I've had a question or needed to come in last minute to help with a suture that naturally started to come out I've had quick responses and help. I absolutely recommend anyone interested in a breast reduction get a consultation with Dr. Min. On a great day, it was an hour from home to her office for appointments. On regular traffic days, there were times I had to plan for 2.5 hours to get there. This is to say that I don't live close to the office but all the drive time was worth it. Dr. Elise Min is fantastic and I'm so glad I found her. I'm in my 30s and wanted to do this since my teens. It was Dr. Min that made me feel confident to go for it. I had no idea how happy I could be with the results. I thought a reduction would be an improvement but that I'd still probably not actively like my body. I am beyond pleased with the results. In addition to getting a consult with Dr. Min, get at least one or two other consultations so you can see the difference and feel confident in your decision. If you're willing to spend thousands on a procedure, spend a couple hundred extra and get other consults to accurately compare your options. Dr. Min is magic. I am 5 weeks post op and had explant surgery with fat grafting from my stomach to the breasts. The results are beautiful and I am so excited to see what the coming months (final final results) will look like. I've had 2 c-sections and had an unfortunate "overhang" situation on my lower abdomen as a result. I honestly thought I would need a tummy tuck later on to fix it. But now, I don't think that is going to be necessary!! Dr. Min removed enough fat from that area (with 2 minimal/tiny incisions right next to my c-section scar and 1 hidden in my belly button) that the "overhang" is now a very mild shelf that I am confident I can pretty much eliminate with proper diet and continued exercise - which makes me SO happy.
