Above average. Very good egg rolls. Good food and price, but nothing astounding. Got the sea same chicken, a little slimy but tasty.

This Chinese food is very bad! The chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce taste like sweet and sour sauce. No good

Big portions that are reasonably priced and several tables for large groups. It's in a former Chinese grocery and the decor wasn't much of an upgrade. The spice level is milder than most Szechuan restaurants (it probably doesn't help that my Mandarin isn't very good). I had the boiled fish which was very good and the fried beef with cumin which was surprisingly sweet.

The ordering experience was one of the most bizarre and frustrating I've had in recent years. But the food itself was delicious. Since we were driving with young wailing kids in the backseat, we called the restaurant 20 minutes out to place our order. The lady who picked up the phone told me in Chinese that the restaurant was very busy, so I should place the order when I was 10 minutes away, or better yet, when I was at the restaurant. I tried to explain that the whole point of placing the order by phone was to avoid waiting, but she had put a male Chinese-speaking colleague on the phone, who told me to just order at the restaurant because he was too busy to take phone orders. With that, he promptly hung up on me. Ten minutes out, I called again and tried to order eggplant in garlic sauce and fish in chili oil. The same man I had spoken to before had tried to get me to just place the order when I arrived at the restaurant, but I again told him that we were trying to avoid waiting for our food since we had young children (now screaming) in the car. He reluctantly took my order (I was told that my third request--vermicelli with spiced minced pork--was not available). Frustratingly, when we arrived at the restaurant, they had not even started cooking our food, so we had to wait about 15 minutes. The food itself was superb. The eggplant is some of the best I've had. The fish in chili oil was also wonderfully tender, though there was a slightly higher ratio of Napa cabbage to fish than what I've usually experienced for this dish at other restaurants. The interior of the restaurant was modest and cafeteria-like. I can't comment on the service quality for dining in. If it weren't for the rough phone ordering experience, I would be keen on ordering takeout or dining in there again.

I did find a person who visited this one and another one, Jianghu Café and so I asked her if I could only visit one, which do I do, and she said Jianhghu was the winner winner Szechuan lunch. I did go there and it was great! But I found myself having one additional dinner time without plans, so I came here as well. Walking in, I noticed what appeared to be a common Asian Massage Parlor next door, yo uget to it via the entry way that bring you here as well. Kinda odd, but it didn't bother me. Walking into this restaurant, it's very nicely laid out and beautifully décor'd! The servers and staff spoke great English and were very helpful, especially when answering questions about their menu. I started with their Garlic Cucumbers, but I asked for them to be spicy and Wow, they did a GREAT job with them! They weren't very hot, but so much spiciness and flavor - I loved them! Next up was to get their cumin chicken. They do cumin style in all their proteins, which makes for some great options. I chose their basic fried rice to come with this. The fried rice and cumin chicken were both amazing... Perfectly spiced and loaded with flavor. There were several Szechuan peppercorns in the dish, which added to the aroma and flavor of the dish. Overall - I really like this dinner! While I do feel Jianghu is slightly better, this is amazing as well!

I wish the menu provided more details about what was included in each dish. When I tried the Kung Pao Chicken, I bit into something twice that caused a strong burning sensation in my mouth. I'm still not sure what it was, because it looked like chicken at first. I also ordered the Orange Chicken and the General Tso's Chicken (extra spicy), but neither dish was spicy at all, or fresh tasting. All chicken dishes were drowned in bland sauce. Since it was our first time and we weren't sure how the food would be, we decided to order from the lunch menu. In hindsight, we all regretted that choice and felt we should have tried something else instead.

She was also so sweet to write down everything on a sticky note that had anything I'm allergic to which is always appreciated. We did both Kpot and BBQ and glad we got to do both. I really enjoy the buffet/all you can eat style since you're in total control of how much or how little you choose, especially when trying something new. I did try a lot of new things while here and I think it's the perfect way to do it! I made a ramen bowl and also grilled a lot of different meats - our favorite was the spicy pork belly! We got up for seconds, thirds, and fourths bc it was so good!! There is also a section of creating your own sauce which was fun too! You could definitely make a variety of different sauce creations, maybe some sweet, some spicy, some more or less flavorful, there are no limits! They also had a guide above the sauce line to help you follow the ingredients if you're looking for some inspiration. I would definitely come back again! I wish they had more dessert options.

March 13, 2026 and ordered the combination plate of Szechuan Chicken with vegetable Lo Mein. Unfortunately, I did not check the bag, because I got General Tso's chicken platter. I wasn't paying close attention, but I did notice that the cashier, took the food out of the crock pots on the side of the cash register. We had even discussed what vegetable came with the Szechuan chicken platter. I did not realize this until I got home approximately 20 minutes away. I called H.K. Take Out Chinese Food and the cashier was very combative. The cashier told me that there were two kinds of Szechuan chicken (only one is listed on the menu), like I didn't know the difference between Szechuan chicken and General Tso's chicken. All things set aside, this was probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The Lo Mein noodles with very little vegetables, were dry and probably sitting in the crock pot all day. Next, the General Tso's chicken was tiny pieces of chicken, and it tasted like we were eating chewy corn starch. We will not be back; we are staying with No 1 Kitchen in Nottingham Plaza.
