Placed an online order at 5:53. Arrived at6:15 pm, was told it would be another 20-25 minutes by cashier in blue shirt. Several bags appeared on the to go table behind cashier stand. As I kept looking for new bags, one bag sat there. Finally got the attention of a young man and asked him to find out where my order was. He went to the table, grabbed that bag and I walked out at 6:40 pm. Got home with my cold food. Not a good experience and management needs to fix the communication problem. read more

My wife & I love Chelino's no matter which location it is in the city. She suggested it since it was her birthday and part about being a rewards member is receiving a few meal! As I try new Mexican Restaurants or revisit old ones I'm trying the Chicken Tortilla Soup. This one is a huge winner with me! A large bowl of piping hot soup, plenty of chicken & veggies. Stopped by chelinos as this restaurant chain is a local one and I had never been to this location the location that was closer to where I live I think was put out of business due to the pandemic. I don't really know but the last time I went it was not a pleasant experience when all the times in the past we're usually pretty good. The Edmond location was the good old chelinos that Oklahomans have known and loved. The salsa was nice and fresh. Guacamole was flavorful and not just avacodas mashed up. My wife got a enchilada plate and a side of the bracho beans. I got a grande Nacho. Mine wasn't bad but I think I would have preferred fajita meat instead of the ground beef. This might have been a menu item but I didn't see it on the menu. Overall though not bad. The one negative was that the staff seemed preoccupied with going over to a table in back part of the dining room and talking and working on like rolling silverware etc. i completely understand the need for this but customer attention should be their highest priority. I hope you know what I mean when I say this spot has small town post-church Mexican restaurant vibes. From the kitschy decor, to the chairs that squeak when you scoot in, to the color palette of the various melamine plates your food will be delivered on. It was an unexpectedly nostalgic experience given that I haven't been allowed in a church in over a decade. Complimentary chips with thin salsa & light-yellow queso to give you something to do while waiting for your frosted mug of Modelo Especial with salt & lime to be delivered are always appreciated. Nothing incredible, but another characteristic contributing to my temporal displacement into my childhood. Gang, all of this nostalgia was blown to bits by the cavalcade of flavors that were to come: the quesabirria tacos. This dish smacked me out of my childish stupor, screaming "Hey dumbass, pay attention! This is new! These drippy bastards are about to physiologically alter your taste buds!" And that they did - it may be the single best Mexican dish I've ever had the good fortune to try. I cannot recommend them enough, though if your digestive tract isn't what it once was on Sundays long past you may wish to toss a Pepcid back before you arrive. read more

The manager was very rude to us when we asked a question, even started yelling at us because we asked him to look at our margaritas. They looked like cloudy water. I've had them numerous times before and knew something was off. The waiter even said they didn't look right. But this bald guy that sits behind the register, I assume is manager, came over and yelled at us saying nothing is wrong they are made the same way for years and no one has ever questioned it. This Chelino's location has great food and good service. The food was very fresh and came out very quickly. I highly recommend ordering the Alan's Special and the Special Salsa with avocado, those dishes have amazing flavor but can be very spicy. The problem is my wife and I eat out together and usually can't finish two full meals and end up wasting food. We will usually order one big meal, for instance Chelinos has a 3 item combo. So we would've gotten 2 enchiladas with a taco and rice and beans. My wife doesn't like the tacos so that would be mine and she likes rice and not beans so I would get the beans and she would eat the rice and an enchilada. We can't save money and have to waste food here because they have a "no share" policy. Kind of a ridiculous policy. Service isn't that good and they don't care about wasting food and also don't care about you saving money. I get it's a business, still kind of extreme. Also, I ordered no tomatoes on my taco it came w/tomato's. They took it back to the kitchen removed the tomato's and brought back the same taco a soggy taco thinking it would satisfy. read more

Terrible service Ben the server had disrespected me and my family 3 plus times during dinner. He continued to refer to my sister as "sir" while she was obviously not a male. He rudely interrupted me and my mother to let the entire restaurant know that we had some food on the corner of our mouth. I do appreciate someone telling me when I have food on my mouth, but he did it in a rude and demeaning way. This establishment used to be a place that my family would frequent but over the last few years with new management I just don't know how much more disrespect we can take as paying customers. read more

Really good Mexican - it tastes like a different region than a lot of the other Mexican food in the Southwest that I've eaten. Seasonings are different. I Loved it. Laid back vibe, friendly service and delicious food. It is really cold inside though - like you need a blanket! Another family was in here shivering! Waitress said the owner wants it cold. Bad service. As a manager you should always lead by example.. My family and my baby were sick (vomiting/diarrhea) from the chicken quesadillas not being thoroughly cooked. We called and complained to the manager, and he tried to rush me off the phone also said he needed some kind of proof that we were actually sick from the food. Caesar didn't want to give me the corporate number. He also stated he doubt we'd get a refund just from being sick. He said he'd call himself which we all know is a lie because you're trying to cover up the fact that you messed up and you don't wanna take the initiative to make it right. We've eaten at multiple locations and this is the only one we've had a problem with. By far the worst ! Why be nasty to a customer you'd want to return back to your restaurant ? Super solid spot. Staff was great, very attentive and very invested in giving you a great experience! Great variety of menu items and the complimentary salsa and queso for your chips was better than you'll find at most places that you would pay extra for those items. My only gripe was that the tamale I ordered was super dry and the cheese on my taco and tostada was just normal cheddar and not more of a traditional blend. My wife's enchiladas on the other hand were delicious and made well! All in all the food was well seasoned, came in good portions, and was served with a smile. I'd like to see them offer aguas frescas, but the fried ice cream made up for it. We'll more than likely come back and try other menu items next time! read more

This was the second time we ordered the family fajita meal for delivery. The first time should've been a red flag since the sour cream arrived with a pink ring around the edge. We simply threw it away and didn't eat it. We gave them another try and ordered the combination fajitas (beef and chicken) family meal to be delivered again. Food arrived warm. Queso was watery and had no flavor. The two family members who ate the chicken ended up with food poisoning, one even ended up at the hospital. Will never order from them again. read more

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place to go. I first came to Chelino's when they were located in Bricktown 20 years ago. Back then it was amazing and I would go here every chance I got for the following two years. Now, it is your ordinary basic Texmex. Now I'm not saying it's bad. Despite the drinks being weak, the food was okay. I had a chili relleno, enchilada, and taco and my s/o had birria tacos. The rice is not made fresh. It tastes like it comes on a truck frozen and they just throw it in a microwave to heat. The chili relleno was soggy.with zero flavor. The salsa verde was really good and the birria tacos were good. I also ordered the salsa lupe. It didn't come out as I expected. I attached a picture. I expected salsa, this was...I don't even know. Looks kind of like my aunt Mary's attempt at dressing from Thanksgiving. The food was okay but the atmosphere was great. read more

We were told that each of us had to order a full meal or we had to pay for extra meals anyway. Never have we ever had this experience before. The employee up front kept calling my husband by the wrong name every single time. It wasn't until my husband said just give me my money back, that the employee finally went back and got OU r order. Showed up very hungry, left very disappointed. After being seated at a cramped table for 4 by a very friendly hostess, I was excited to see shrimp tacos on the menu. We were brought complimentary chips & salsa (which were above average), then proceeded to wait 12-15 minutes until our waiter took our order. I, of course, ordered the shrimp tacos. As our waiter read back my order he said, "Fish Taco dinner". I politely corrected him and said I ordered "Shrimp Tacos". He apologized and said no problem. Fast forward to our order being delivered...you guessed it....Fish Tacos! Upon telling our waiter that the order was wrong, he apologized and that was it. No offer to make it right. No refund. Their queso is to die for, as well as their enchiladas!
