Five days later and no contact from Pam. I was so excited to take my mister to their Father's Day class. We're empty nesters and this was meant to be a special treat for both of us. He's not big on cooking classes but the posted menu was appealing and I promised to do all the heavy lifting. Ribeye Steak -- thought we'd learn some new techniques to elevate our steak prep game. Mexican Street Corn Dip and Homemade Tater Tots -- summer corn is a family favorite and the thought of making homemade tater tots was intriguing. Smash Burger Sliders -- wanted to learn to consistently nail that crispy exterior. Inexplicably, we were paired with another pair -- a single dad with an 8 yo kid. Neither the mister nor I wanted this but we didn't want to make a scene or hurt anyone's feelings. We didn't even realize we were paired with them until the chef pointed out that our mise en place tray was setup for four. Why?? 1. The Mexican Street Corn Dip which I think was supposed to be an appetizer, was completely omitted. However, we did make a grilled corn salad as part of the meal. There was no appetizer served when we arrived. 2. Instead of homemade tater tots we made potato wedges. 3. The team we were paired with was lovely. However the class was well beyond their skill level. So instead of taking on the bulk of the work for 2 people, I did the bulk of the prep for 4 people. The course description says there may be seasonal substitutions but these substitutions utilized the same core ingredients. This was more work than I anticipated and left me feeling a bit overwhelmed and behind schedule. This threw the timing off and my mister enjoyed his steak alone while I was still standing at a hot stove prepping food for 4 people. Not the fun afternoon of "us" time I'd envisioned. Overall this was a subpar experience in so many areas that mattered to us. Left me personally disappointed and apologizing to my mister for the poor planning and execution. Could have spent the same amount of money without the hour+ drive and had a better experience.

The tacos appear small in the foil wrap but are loaded with meat and plenty of guacamole. The brisket meat is served cold which is weird. They serve queso, but it's mild and not my favorite. Spice it up with one of two good salsas red or green. Last time the queso was steaming hot and that was a Win. Last thing in this review was an $18 frozen margaritas which was comical. Decent flavor but small for the price. That is a never again for me, but sure I will be back occasionally for fresh flour tortilla tacos. There is a bar you can sit at inside or many tables out front. It tends to get very windy in this spot. They accidently left the bacon in the forth worth and fixed it right away. Even offered 2 cookies because it was busy and had to wait. That's great customer service. I will be making this location a favorite for tex mex tacos. Also parking is better after 6, it's only 30 mins prior right in front. This is downtown culver city so there's several lots and I'm not entirely sure about parking in the neighborhood, so just check signs.

I've found spaces to hide away in solitude to really focus, but I've enjoyed spending most of my time in the main common area which has a relaxed, buzzing vibe of activity. Their phone booth rooms are also perfect to hop in and take calls in as needed. Every part of the space has fantastic panoramic views of the city and natural light. The staff here are all incredibly friendly and accommodating and it's generally a great environment for me to accomplish a day's work.

The decor is modern and mature, and the atmosphere feels like a "real" office compared to other more youth-oriented coworking spaces that blare music and tout beer taps. The offices are incredibly spacious -- though noise does leak through office to office, so if you want to be kind to your neighbors, put down a rug to help with that -- and the workspace is very comfortable (a wide desk, a Herman Miller chair). The team is what makes the place, though: Praynka, Jacey, and Emily really have gone out of their way to make sure the atmosphere has been conducive to work and to residents getting to know each other, in equal harmony. (Who knew daily free breakfast and afternoon snacks were a great way to get people out of their offices?) Lots of healthy snacks + wine/beer/Mexican coke (!) in the community fridge means I've actually lost weight since working here, too. So that's something.

The food is excellent, which makes this review even more disappointing to write. Last Sunday, I ordered three bagels with lox spread. When my number was called, I picked up the bag and left. When I got home, I realized I'd been given the wrong order. Whether I responded to the wrong number or they called the wrong number, I don't know--but no one verified the order when I picked it up. I called the store right away, expecting a simple "We're sorry, we'll remake it." Instead, I was asked for my order number (I had already thrown away the receipt), then the last four digits of my credit card, and then the exact total of the purchase, which required me to log into my credit card app. They eventually agreed to remake my order, but when I returned, instead of an apology, I was given a lecture about checking my receipt before leaving. The entire staff stood behind the counter while I was made to feel like I'd done something wrong. It was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. Mistakes happen in every business. What matters is how they're handled. A little understanding and good customer service would have turned this into a non-issue. Instead, I left feeling blamed and unwelcome. I'll probably continue coming because the food is so good, but I sincerely hope management works on treating loyal customers with a little more kindness and respect when honest mistakes happen.
