My mother was actually taking a tour of the venue for my brother's graduation party and I really liked it so my husband and I decided to host the baby shower of our first child at the same venue for the following day! The venue manager gave us Claudete's information and shared some pictures of events that she did at the golf club. My mother and I both reached out to her and a week later we were meeting her in person. Throughout the planning process she was very easy to work with, professional and had so many amazing ideas that we did not even think of prior to meeting her. For my brother's party Claudete's team did the full service: décor (tables, photobooth, entry, backdrop, wall of fame), set up, clean up, catering (passed and stationary food) and bartending. Everything looked spectacular at the party. The food was so good. The drinks were delish and the vibes were GREAT! Her staff was so hands on and on top of everything. My parents and my brother were so happy with the service that they got. It pays handsomely to have a full service team like MK Catering. They take all the stress away and wow you! For my baby shower MK Catering did décor: tables, entryway, bartending and provided the food display, dessert bar display, serving-ware, full set up and clean up staff. The even coordinated my vendors so that this mama did not have to lift a finger or stress at all. My theme was gender neutral safari soiree and THEY DELIVERED! We went back and forth on the design to make sure it was exactly what I wanted and Claudete made it even more spectacular than my expectation. When I saw the venue I was in tears because everything was PERFECTION! Everyone says my baby shower was the most gorgeous and well executed event they have been to. It was better than some weddings! Her team was so professional, were on top of everything and made my event one for the books. The bartender and the staff kept the party going!!!! I was told my signature cocktails were a hit. It was a recipe I came up with and provided the recipe to the bartender who put his own spin on it and made it incredible for my guests. It was a pre-set menu: peach salad, choice of seafood or veggie cannelloni, and choice of strawberry pretzel pie or chocolate ganache cake for $22. There was an optional add on of the pina colada sangria for $10. The peach salad with candied walnuts and balsamic vinegar was wonderful start. Next, I choose the seafood cannelloni. It came with heating instruction. The cannelloni was filled with plenty of seafood. It was divine. Lastly I choose the strawberry pretzel pie. At initial look, it didn't look like anything special, however after the first bite, I realized how wrong I was. I did ended up ordering the sangria - it was strong and plenty. I absolutely regret booking with Simply Fresh and cannot recommend them. If you do book with them or have already, please ensure your planner is keeping close tabs. Here is a rundown of what went wrong: The plates of beef tenderloin served to me and my husband were overcooked and tough, I literally spit mine out. Multiple family members received similar plates or complained that the option was extremely rare in the middle or overcooked and chewy. Every table including the head table was served burnt rolls to the point that most were hard as rocks, couldn't be eaten and were completely charred black. Family members asked for new rolls only to be told there weren't any left. They shouldnt have been placed on the tables at all. The bar also served multiple guests wine with ice in it. Both white and red wine. I am embarrassed by this and I have no idea how this could be justified by any professional bar service. Red wine with ice (and it wasn't sangria)?!? This lowered the quality of my wedding and I am mortified. This was advertised as a dinner with stations, not a buffet. The timeline for meal service took so long I had to flag our planner to ask her to see if she could speed things up. Our last table ate 45 minutes after the head table. While service may have been on time based on Simply Fresh's timeline, for a wedding with 60 guests, it's unacceptable that people were hungry and waiting for food. Their experience was not great and again I'm so embarrassed. Another quality of service issue: Vendor meals were served to staff before members of my family were served. To be very clear I have no issue with staff taking a break to eat dinner or being provided dinner. I have zero issue with staff being seen eating. But it's unacceptable that members of my family who were hungry saw staff being served and eating before they were. Again I am so embarrassed. Our late night snack of hotdogs and French fries was served cold without any condiments. No mustard, no ketchup. Tables also didn't have salt and pepper shakers, or at least family members couldn't find them. Again, all of this seriously lowered the quality of my wedding and I am trying not to freak out, but I am so upset and disappointed.
