Beautiful hidden place! It was my first time going with a party of 3. Our server , Maggie I believe., was amazing and so knowledgeable! The cocktails were great, my favorite was 'Peace and co' and 'Spill the Tea', I don't like spirit forward too much but these were sweet and light. My favorite appetizers were the baked shrimp with Focaccia. ( Tip is to dip the bread into the sauce of the baked shrimp). Best entree's were the Bolognese and wagyu burger, even tho it was roughly $30, for a burger. The best part was dessert, we had gotten the tiramisu and it was so delicious! We worked with Elizabeth to plan our wedding catering and rentals through Little Heirloom. She was so easy to work with and the value and quality were exceptional. We were so happy with the wide range of options offered for appetizers, salads, entrees, sides and desserts -- and they even offer specialty cocktails! For reference, we had a 70 person seated dinner with cocktail hour before and a dessert bar at the end. The food was delicious and unique, and the place settings were gorgeous. I wouldn't change a thing. If you are a couple getting married in the DC area and want fresh, seasonal, creative food that does not feel like your standard wedding menu and won't crush your budget, I would definitely recommend Little Heirloom. read more

I have attended multiple events that were planned and done by Heirloom and all of them were excellent. These events have included kids parties, larger private parties, and dinners. All of these events have been meticulously planned with the upmost attention to detail. On the execution side, the food is always amazing, well put together, and displayed in a visually appealing way. The menu at each event I've attended has always been well though out with a mix of different foods that appeal to people's preference and dietary restrictions as needed. The craft cocktails are well made, enjoyable and always creative and a nice addition to the standard stocked bar. Heirloom's staff is also extremely professional, friendly, and accommodating. They make their event run very smoothly and as a guest, it's hard to not notice how plates and drinks are always full and the second trash gets put down, it gets picked right up and thrown away. My family also did Heirloom's meal delivery plan during the peak COVID months and it was amazing. We never ate anything that we didn't like and the order and delivery process was very simple and straightforward. It was definitely a luxury to have such good food delivered to our home. Heirloom is FANTASTIC!!  Words honestly can't do them justice.  I'm the type of bride that did extensive, exhaustive research of DMV's top-tier caterers before booking - I mean, truly exhaustive.  In the end, we debated between DC's historically top catering company (which we found to be amazing too but slightly old-fashioned and not as creative/inventive) and Heirloom.  And I am SO happy with our decision!!  We've now used Heirloom 3 times for 3 very different events -- for our rehearsal dinner, our wedding, and recently for a small company dinner party at our house!   The food has been fantastic, delicious, and beautifully presented every single time.  They go above-and-beyond not only with the quality of the food, but also with the presentation.  The food was so tasty at our rehearsal dinner and wedding that our guests still talk about it (and at our recent small dinner party, the guests were blown away at how good the food was - several asked me which catering company we used)!  As someone who has gone to a lot of weddings and has had a lot of bland/mediocre wedding food, I can tell you that Heirloom's food = standout.  It is truly THAT delicious -- fresh/seasonable ingredients, perfect seasoning, and elevated recipes.  We LOVED the personalized menus, which centered around an elevated crab boil for our rehearsal dinner, and a whimsical garden dinner party for our wedding.  The presentation is better than you can even imagine -- inventive, colorful, expertly plated.  Which speaks perfectly to the incredible women behind Heirloom - Vicky and Lindsay.  They are FANTASTIC - brilliant, talented, fun, down-to-earth.  You instantly feel like they're family and like you've known them your whole life.  They are excellent communicators, easy to work with, and hyper detail-oriented.  On the days of our events, they took charge and ran the show, ensuring that everything was done beyond perfection (perfection isn't good enough for them!).  Prior to our wedding, Lindsay was so helpful in picking out our place settings, decor, and serving ware (I think the photos speak for themselves) and during the wedding events, Heirloom's waitstaff was top top notch - so kind, helpful, and on point the entire evenings.  I really can't recommend (nor thank) them enough and plan to use Heirloom for many more events as we have future dinner parties and life cycle events.  Heirloom = our caterers for life! read more

We have used Heirloom DC for several years. Always in the past we would have given them 5-star reviews. However for our first post-Covid holiday party this year, we paid several thousand dollars for a dessert and cheese spread for 150 people, and only one small board of food was put out throughout the entire evening. (Cheese and sweets were lumped together, there were no crackers, and one of the items we'd ordered was not there). In the past their staff had built beautiful displays and table scapes with ample food for everyone. I don't know what happened this year: possibly they are facing post-Covid labor shortages and raises in prices like everyone else. However when I brought up the issue the day after the party, Vicky (the owner), became very personally abusive, would not take any responsibility for what happened (including her staff leaving our basement area, where they worked, filthy: white sticky stuff from the pastries all over the floor), and indeed accused me of lying despite photographic evidence. I was shocked by her highly unprofessional reaction. We've previously had a very cordial relationship, have spent many thousands of dollars on catering from them, and most recently, this spring, served as a reference for the company. Also, unlike other reputable catering companies, you pay everything up front so you are left with no recourse if things go wrong. This review is for the tasting only, but what a great tasting it was! Vicky and Heirloom DC really pay attention to the little things -- must be why they consider themselves a "boutique" caterer! I heard about Heirloom first through our DC hostess with the mostess, Kimberly S, who recommended them to me. After chatting with Vicky on the phone to get an idea of what kind of menu we'd like, she presented a proposal. We then scheduled a tasting for a few weeks out (I was waiting for my parents to return from a vacation), and finally, I got to see what this gorgeous little boutique caterer is all about! The tasting was hosted at the restaurant owned by Vicky's family, Delia's, and their chef was there to talk about the food and discuss options. Everything we tasted was delicious, and there was so much food I actually had to ask for some of mine to be boxed up! Presentation especially seems to be a specialty of Heirlooms -- the bread puddings were served in these adorable mini cast iron pans, and Vicky made it clear that that food styling and presentation is a priority and is already included in their pricing. Heirloom definitely gave me a lot to think about as I'm making my final catering decisions, that's for sure, but based on my experience thus far, I can at the very least recommend that brides (or anyone planning a largescale event) check them out! read more

I was very disappointed in my overall experience with Heirloom. It started out great - very casual conversation with Vicky where I felt like she really understood us and what we wanted. The tasting we scheduled was freaking delicious, so we had a good feeling about the whole thing. We had a long engagement, so had lots of time to play around with menus/styles and changed it up a few times, but I felt on multiple occasions that I was bothering Heirloom with the requests we were making. Not a way to treat a customer. For instance: - We were told multiple times that they weren't going to get to our requests until later because they were executing different events. Why not just say ok and make a note for the future? - Their system was down for a period of time, making it so they couldn't send us an updated proposal. They made this sound like we were inconveniencing them for asking for a proposal, so that we could finalize other details (this was 3 weeks prior to the wedding). - Many details we'd ask them, they seemed to push off onto other vendors (oh that's for your florist to worry about, that's for your coordinator to worry about) which didn't end up being true. On the wedding day, I was bothered that we were asked about details multiple times throughout the night. If someone else had asked the caterer a question or made a request, they would come to us as the bride and groom and talk about it. That's not what I wanted to be dealing with that night and thought it was clear beforehand. Maybe if they had listened to our questions and comments throughout the process, and not only the 1 week prior to the event, they'd know that. Plus, the food on the wedding day was subpar. And after the wedding, they sent a congratulations note to us using the wrong name. They asked for an address to send a gift. I haven't seen a gift yet (It's been almost 5 weeks). I'm mostly disappointed because we had such a great going-in experience with Heirloom, chose them over equally qualified vendors, and it just deteriorated over time. Our wedding was a great day and the food was insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but they are the ONLY vendor that we hired that I would not recommend to other people. read more

WONDERFUL is the word that comes to mind...I hosted a surprise 50th birthday party for my wife at my house for 50 of our closest friends and family. It was really important to me to make this a very nice, very upscale event for Teri...she deserves it! Right from the start, Vicky at Heirloom made my life easy...she was very interested in discussing my wife's favorite foods, the flow of the house for the event (she requested a floor plan...which I appreciated!), the music, the house colors, etc. From there, I received an extensive menu with a ton of choices based on my wife's food preferences...all at various price points which made me feel extremely comfortable. On the day of, the crew was on time and took care of EVERYTHING! The food looked beautiful and was delicious...can't say enough. My wife sent this note to Vicky right after..."It was exactly what I would've chosen if I had been involved in the planning. I had a wedding at a winery in VA. The venue had the basic setting, but it needed additional styling to elevate. Heirloom provided us overall styling and decoration including flowers for outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour at patio, indoor reception and dessert catering. I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out - it was a serious case of "Pinterest came to life!" This was my 1st time working with a vendor for my own event, and I was worried about how things would come together, if my budget was enough or if I explained them enough what I envisioned. But worry not...I was totally blown away by Heirloom's beautiful execution - everything was "on point" and beyond my expectation. They used my Pinterest boards to get ideas of what I like and perfectly incorporated and realized. I could tell that it was not only myself but also guests were impressed as they raved about details of decorations and couldn't stop taking photos of items Heirloom provided and telling us it was the most well put together, beautiful, personalized (meaning all reflected our style and personalities well) wedding they had ever been to. Heirloom's decoration and styling elevated the venue and made it 100 times more attractive and personalized. Even when we learned the standard food setting the venue provided was very outdated and didn't go well with the rest, Heirloom stepped in and helped styling to ensure everything matched. They worked closely with another vendor who provided favor and wedding cake to incorporate perfectly too. Thanks to those effort, everything was coherent and an absolute perfection. Vicky, founder/style director, is very pleasant professional to work with. Her taste in style and attention to details are great assets and something you can completely trust with. Communication with her was easy, very clear and straight forward, which I really appreciated and made me feel I was in good hands. She has great connections in the industry so if you haven't decided on other vendors, you can ask her. She will tell you the trustful vendors and collaborate with them to create even more powerful outcome. If the venue didn't come with a commitment to use their restaurant, I would have totally asked Heirloom to cater the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvre, dinner and drinks as well (hope to try someday). Although after a rough start with Heirloom as noted in an earlier review in June , I stuck with them and am happy to say they did an excellent job. Lindsay was quite accommodating as to menu tweaks and venue restrictions. The food was excellent( small bites, gourmet sandwiches, inventive salads and an assortment of desserts) -all fresh and appetizing.We had many positive comments on the food from our luncheon attendees. Not to engage in excessive superlatives, but Vicky Theodoro is exceptional. She understood exactly what I wanted in a graduation luncheon for my high school and college graduates, and she created it perfectly. I envisioned something beautiful but not stuffy, and she delivered that. Her pre-party communication was prompt and clear, the party details were just fabulous and the implementation flawless. The luncheon spread was incredibly tasty, abundant, vivid and healthy. I have NEVER had such positive feedback on a party before. It was not an inexpensive party (my bad -- those square plates are SO cute) but I am confident she could have worked with any price point. It was a leap of faith for me as I had not used Heirloom before, but she's on speed dial for all future entertaining needs. Heirloom creates beautiful and delicious events and the staff possesses great warmth, a great eye for style, and attention to detail. I was on a limited budget for my wedding, but I didn't want to compromise on my vision. Working with my sister's home as a venue, and off of a few pieces of decor I had bought, Vicky and her team executed that vision perfectly and created a beautiful ambiance. Heirloom also easily accommodated my request for a halal menu, and the food was displayed artistically and tasted amazing. I had the pleasure of attending their Fall Brunch Fest and immediately fell in love with Heirloom. I was stunned by the deliciousness of the food along with the staff. Each staff member was super friendly and accommodating. As a catering and events company it is important to know every detail about the food you are serving. This particular aspect is very important to me because I have an egg intolerance. At this specific event, the stylish bites were "brunch" themed and I was super nervous about what I could and couldn't eat. I made my allergy known to the staff immediately and they were quick to respond with alternative menu options.This gave me comfort. Now that I knew I could enjoy yummy food along with the other guests I was able to experience the event in full. Aside from that, every detail of the event along with the styling continued to add to my awing experience. It was truly nothing like I had ever seen before! As I looked around I remember thinking "Why am I not apart of this?" I left the event that day determined to research- to know the ins and outs of the event field....little did I know my first experience with Heirloom would take my career to the next level.
