The venue he is connected with via Uptown is more of what my daughter wants for her wedding day. And so far - we, Jeff and I, are getting along swimmingly. Not that we didn't before - I just felt he lacked the proper level of professionalism after we declined his services. I do believe we have something here. We decided that, rather than try to find a restaurant for all the extended family in for the graduation, we would host a private dinner at the Airbnb prepared by a professional chef. We interviewed a number of chefs and Meal Mate was by far the best. Most creative ideas, most responsive, and best enthusiasm for the project! We signed with them months ahead of the date, and as it drew closer, I started getting reminders from Chef Jamie. Some questions, more ideas. On event day, Chef Jamie and Chef Nathan showed up exactly on time and started getting to work. First, the table was set beautifully with linen napkins and personalized menus/place cards. As guests arrived, we were all treated with a specialty cocktail and delightful appetizers. And then dinner. Wow!! Maybe the best ribeye steak ever. Wonderfully seasoned and incredibly tender. The sides were all great but that steak - oh, my lord. Dessert was a matcha tiramisu and it was the perfect finish! Throughout the night, the service was so smooth and then, before we knew it, the kitchen was cleaner than when they arrived and they were off. Like I said, I can't say enough great things about Meal Mate. Book them for your next event!!

One of the reasons we booked this venue is because it's literally a one stop shop. They do the catering, the cake, the tablecloths/place setting, bar, the set-up and clean-up! Of course we had a florist, dj, 360 Photo Booth and other crowd pleasers, but the bulk of the items that were required were provided by the venue. The Villa provides a day-of planner, which she was absolutely helpful and knowledgeable, but I wanted someone who knew me personally to advocate for me. I hired another coordinator to be my liaison for the day. I would suggest you do the same, if you're getting married. It's just good to have someone that knows you or will advocate for you when you need them. I had a few hiccups during my wedding day and expressed my concerns to management the day after. The professionalism and courtesy they provided us was extremely appreciative. From start to finish, my wedding coordinator explained everything, responded to all 5 million of my emails - in a very timely manner. Anything we were confused or didn't understand, was thoroughly explained. My original coordinator left her position, but Tracy stepped right in with both feet on the ground. If you're on the fence, give this venue a try. We had our wedding in the tent, which I believe is called the Renaissance Room. The location was perfect, the serving staff were awesome and we just had a knock down, drag out time! People are still talking about my perfect day!

My first interaction with the owner, Joanne, was wonderful. She was incredibly helpful in not only deciding on the wedding menu, but in matching colors, suggesting decor, and offering advice for planning as she was aware that I was planning my own wedding and had no idea what I was doing! She helped me afford the full-service buffet catering by working out pricing that worked well for my budget and worked out ALL the buffet options I wanted! I was super excited and incredibly happy with the menu! It hit all food options, meats, seafood, vegetarian. We scheduled a tasting during our meeting with the venue representative and Joanne provided all the needed documentation for catering. The tasting was all of the entrees/sides that we put on the menu, AND additional tastings of other options and iced tea that I wanted. Since we didn't really have "tasting" time at the venue, she packed it up into take-out boxes and let us take so much food home! It was as if we went to a restaurant and got take-out food for dinner! I hired Bennett Caterers for my wedding ceremony/reception, all located in the same lodge. Set-up time was scheduled from 12:00-2:00pm, with the ceremony supposed to begin at 2:00pm. They were already at the location when we arrived for set-up and setting up table linens. In that time frame, I threw the decor onto the tables and ran off to get ready for my wedding. By the time I came back up for the ceremony, all of the tables were beautifully covered with the plates and silverware. Everything was set-up and the buffet was warm and ready on the side. During dinner, the food was very good and everyone seemed satisfied. With my nervousness, I kind of forgot to eat during my entire wedding, but at least the guests enjoyed it! The bar was also great! The waiters were incredibly respectful and Joanne's team was great. If there was anything I could have changed, I probably would have pushed a couple of late night (after party) snacks that could have gone around during the dancing, as I didn't get the try any appetizers during cocktail hour, since I was off taking photos. :( To any brides that plan their own wedding, you SHOULD have breakfast, because I thought I'd get to try some of the food and I didn't... :(( But I'm so happy the guests enjoyed it all! Just a side note -- I didn't quite know this was universal for caterers, but to avoid liability issues, they cannot leave you leftovers (especially since the food sits out for a long time), so don't be surprised if you don't get to keep everything that you saw after dinner.
