The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. We look forward to ordering each week!

I made a mistake of signing up for 4 weeks of meal delivery, and now I am out of hundreds of dollars. The first delivery was 2 days late and required multiple attempts to contact the merchant to get the ordered meals. Week 2 meals were delivered but be aware, if you happen to be in the shower when they show up with your delivery, they won't leave your meals on your secure porch and will just drive away with your order. Week 3- NO DELIVERY, NO CALL, NO EMAIL. Again, I had too contact the merchant to try to figure out where was my food. Days later got a response that they had an issue with their refrigerator and simply neglected to let me know!!! With over a thousand dollars already tied up with this merchant, I had to scramble to purchase food for my family elsewhere. Due to the "NO CALL NO SHOW" for the week 3 delivery, I politely asked the chef to immediately refund me for the remaining 2 weeks worth of food that wasn't delivered. I explained that because they failed to honor their contract, I had to make other arrangements for the meals. The merchant NEVER REFUNDED me for the remaining 2 WEEKS worth of food that they NEVER DELIVEREDA. I ended up having to contact my credit card company, and guess what? The merchant is lying to my credit card company, claiming they delivered all 4 weeks worth of meals! I am reaching out to the Office of the Attorney General and filing a fraud complaint next. Stay as far away from this thief as you can!

It's truly difficult to express how amazing Danny and his staff made our wedding event. As we were working to find a chef for our small wedding reception/garden party, Danny stuck out simply because we liked the pictures of his food, but after we met with him, we knew he was the perfect chef for us. He made us feel comfortable from the start (LGBTQIA+ friendly) and understood our tastes and interests from just a 30 minute intro call. We signed our contract with him several months out from the event, but he always kept in touch to make sure our heads were still in the same place in how we wanted to celebrate our wedding. Moving to the actual event, we hosted ~22 people for a cocktail style garden party. Danny came up with an amazing menu including: - Cheese plate (very high quality cheeses; these leftovers made for spectacular girl dinners) - The popcorn project (very cute apps with a special, Danny-made seasoning I can't stop thinking about) - Guacamole three ways (fabulous) - Black bean mango salsa (so refreshing for an outdoor party) - Pimento cheese dip (if you only have one stationary plate option, you should definitely get this) - Black bean hummus (added to our menu last minute and it did not disappoint) - Gazpacho shots (refreshing and elevated) - Shrimp lollipops (perfect way to start the event) - Scallop ceviche (my wife's favorite dish) - Brisket sliders (my favorite dish) - Mini cupcakes (soooooo cute and the perfect size to allow you to try all of the flavors) - Thin mint drunken milkshakes (a perfect way to cap off the night) For drinks, we had a few signature cocktails, lots of wine, and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Danny has a knack for coming up with differentiated cocktails that still bring together all of the flavors you know and love, just at an elevated level. I highly recommend the Santero (mojito adjacent) and my wife loved his bourbon cocktail. We had a few non-alcoholic drinkers and they loved the blood orange margarita. And beyond the food, Danny's staff was perfect. Jessalyn and Camilla were so warm and welcoming and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. The kitchen was a little tight to begin with, but they made more than do with the resources they had and left the kitchen in better condition than how it started. Danny and his sous chef, Cat, were busy and possibly overwhelmed, but didn't show it at all. The cadence the food was sent out was perfect and we loved that we got to chit chat with the whole staff in between courses. When we first met Danny, we told him that with all of the money in the world, we still would want to have a very small wedding reception with a private chef. Danny's personality, food, staff, etc. etc. made it better than we ever could have anticipated.

The menu is so thoughtfully developed and I always feel Danny's genuine love for his craft and desire for his guests to thoroughly enjoy themselves. I have a few dietary restrictions and consistently feel so included. It's actually fun getting to see how Danny adapts his favorite recipes to accommodate food restrictions! Some of the thoughtful touches I've appreciated: great music playlist, printed menus, the beautiful presentation of each course. He is a fantastic wine and cheese expert and blends high end with affordable because good wine and cheese can be found at any budget if you know what you're looking for. His award winning chili is truly spectacular and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I tried it! Danny truly makes any event, whether large or intimate, feel special.

To start with you had to enter from the side which is fine but it was not clearly marked so everyone was waiting in their car because the front door was locked. We started late and when we got settled discovered that they were not setup for the number of people they had. We had expected that each couple would have their own station but almost every station was shared by two couples and I think one or two stations had to be shared by three; so six people working one cooking station. As we got to cooking you couldn't hear anything the Chef was saying if you weren't right in front of him and what you could hear was not helpful. The first course was a grilled chicken Caesar and I was hoping for some instruction on how to make a proper Caesar dressing or the best way to cut chicken or something but you would have gotten more direction from an amateur YouTube video. They also passed around a beverage of the alcoholic variety while you were working which was little more than weak iced tea with cheap vodka. I must admit as a bartender of many years I was a little insulted. I was not expecting something amazing but it would not have taken much effort to have come up with something more interesting, again I would refer you to a number of great online or YouTube resources better suited for learning. All in all to be fair I saw potential in what Chef Tav and his "Team" we're offering and I won't deny that once I got over the disappointment my wife and I had a good time. For some one that claims to be a Celebrity Chef I would have hoped for something more. I hope Chef reads this review because it would not take much to really step up his game and make his class worth while. For now though I would say don't bother their are better classes out there.

Usually we have Sardi's, which is perfectly fine, but tonight's choice was most def an upgrade. The salmon patties, rice pilaf, and dinner rolls were all DELISH. I wasn't a fan of the kale but that's not a deal breaker ... I still declare #TwoThumbsUp and would absolutely order the rice, salmon patties and dinner rolls for a future event of my own. The flavor of the rice and salmon; the garlic butter spread on the rolls; the unified shape of the salmon patties; the fluffiness of the rice ... all noteworthy. The salmon may have need a bit more binder because they were a little soggy and broke apart too easily during serving buttt that could have just been a hazard of sitting in the serving pan too long. Again, not a deal breaker, just an observation. Unfortunately, my camera didn't eat first this time but please trust me when I say even her presentation was on point. Not sure how many people my school ordered for but there was enough to serve huge portions to all who were there (and, of course, there was a significant amount of attendees who didn't even RSVP). Will definitely personally promote her for a couple of upcoming events. If YOU book Chef April/Reign's Kitchen please tell her you saw it on Yelp and come back to update us!

Knowing that she's a local Washingtonian instantly made me want to support her even more. Chef April is incredibly kind and genuinely passionate about her craft, and rightfully so. Now, let's dive into her food. We hosted a brunch where Chef April prepared shrimp and grits, potatoes, eggs, and waffles. The waffles were like funnel cake; it was absolutely delicious and savory. We didn't even need syrup; they were perfect on their own. But the shrimp and grits... they were incredible! I can't stress enough how amazing they were. I will definitely be booking her again. Don't just walk, run and book her. I'll gladly recommend her to anyone who asks because I believe in quality and taste, and she delivers on both.
