Chef Sun's Noodle & Dumpling officially had their grand opening in Sugar Land today! Their original Dallas-area location has become very popular, so I was excited to see them make their way to Sugar Land. Even better, they're a halal Chinese restaurant, specializing in handmade-style dumplings, noodles, buns, and other Chinese favorites. We tried a pretty good spread: Braised Beef Buns, Chicken Steamed Dumplings, Chicken & Shrimp Pot Stickers, Fresh Chili Beef Noodles, and a Passionfruit Lemonade. The Fresh Chili Beef Noodles were a standout. The noodles were coated in a flavorful chili sauce and topped with seasoned beef, fresh cilantro, green onions, and chilies. Definitely a good choice if you enjoy some heat! The dumplings are what Chef Sun's is known for, and we got to try them a couple of different ways. The Chicken Steamed Dumplings were soft and tender, while the Chicken & Shrimp Pot Stickers had that great combination of a soft wrapper with a nicely seared bottom. The Braised Beef Buns were another nice addition--soft, fluffy steamed buns packed with savory beef. We finished everything off with the Passionfruit Lemonade, which was cold, fruity, and refreshing alongside the richer and spicier dishes. The restaurant itself is bright, modern, and spacious, with plenty of booth and table seating. For a brand-new restaurant, it has a polished and inviting feel. Overall, Chef Sun's Noodle & Dumpling is a welcome addition to the Sugar Land halal food scene. If you love Chinese dumplings and noodles, this is definitely a new spot worth checking out. I'm looking forward to going back and working my way through more of the menu!

I swear it's just one really long hand made noodle, so it's a bit hard to share, but it's a must-get. We also tried the Claypot noodle and it was good as well but a bit of an acquired taste. The restaurant is located inside Jusgo grocery store. The seating is quite limited so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties. And it's pretty mom and pop, so if that's your jam, go for it. Chairs are mismatched, drinking water is somewhat self-service in small cafeteria-style plastic cups, and tables are small. Like I said - mom and pop, and that's not a bad thing. It's just not exactly a place where you would have a nice business meeting. Service was ok - nothing to note. You pay at the cashier which is like 2 feet from where you ate. Yes, it's a small space. Overall - I love this place and will keep coming back.

My daughters are young so they really enjoy the Fried Rice and Chicken lo mein.also to mention when I don't have to add soy sauce to their food, it usually means that it's already well seasoned. My wife and me have found our favorite mix. We get the chicken wings which are cooked to perfection. They have a good crunch with the meat being juicy tender, in which I recommend squeezing a Lemon on each of the wings to really get an amazing bite. The Green beans are so good! Every time you get a bite of minced pork with a green bean is just mouth watering. We have the Braised beef dumping that are seasoned amazing and have a nice texture to it. And last is the pork soup dumpling that has a rich broth inside that is so warm and rich as you take a bite, along with the pork which is just so tender. Miss Rene has been our waitress every time and she always makes us feel so welcomed. She is the one helped get us with her recommendations for this amazing feast. She always makes sure we enjoy our food with a great service. I can't forget to mention that with all this ordered we have a lot to take home each time and happy to be able to eat.we really do enjoy coming here and come at the least once a week. If ever a thought that you want to try dumplings, I recommend here. They make the dumplings fresh and recommend you eat it there so it doesn't change in taste from their great process.

My favorites are the fish fillet and the braised pork. I remember when the boxes were around $6, and now they're about $10 each, but the flavor is still just as good as before. The portion size has gotten a bit smaller (inflation sucks), but the quality remains solid. I especially like the few slices of sausage and some pickled mustard greens, which help balance out the richness of the braised pork belly. If you dine in, they offer unsweetened black tea that's actually quite tasty. It's a no-frills spot--simple, quick, and dependable whether you're grabbing food to go or eating there. They also sell items like mung bean cake, which I love, and I usually take a couple home. They got a few tables to dine in and the staff are friendly.

Sugarland is not exactly a destination for Cantonese cuisine, which is all the more reason I…read moreappreciated what Regal had to offer. Whether it was weekend dim sum or an evening Canto feast with fresh seafood, I was simply thankful for the option. Now that option is toast since Regal closed last month. Looks can be deceiving. The exterior makes me think of a fitness joint more so than a Cantonese spot. Stepping inside is a complete contrast, with a mix of specialty murals, modern decor with a contemporary edge. There were plenty of large group tables, which made this place perfectly ideal for a feast gathering. Bathrooms were also clean, but this is the only place I've seen that had ice cubes all the urinals. (#1) Dim Sum was solid. The highlights for me were their stir fried XO rice rolls, which had a nice char and some good flavor. The Malay style rolls were also suprrisingly good and I felt strongly about their bbq pork puffs, durian rolls, and glutinous pork dumplings shaped to look like pears. The shrimp dumplings, beef balls, and spare ribs were average at best, I was also very impressed with their overall variety and the fact they had an extremely defined picture menu. The Canto speaking staff was friendly and the parking was plentiful. While the food wasn't all a hit, I do think there was some potential, which was not realized in the end. I am sincerely hoping another Canto spot will emerge in the Land of Sugar. __________ (#1) Yes, really.

Price - for dim sum, we've paid roughly $26/person, but that included tax and tips. So that amount is arbitrary. It depends on how many dishes you may order, and keep in mind that we had a lot of left over food though. We also had a whole duck in this price, so not your typical dim sum order. I imagine it would be less if we would just stick to dim sum only. 3. Ambiance - this place is industrial looking. Modern and pretty hip. It's not massive. Not sure if it's the same owner as the previous Regal on 59. But it's a smaller footprint than the previous location. Dress code here is casual. 4. Food - I will say that the dim sum here is legit Hong Kong style dim sum. This is delicious and not greasy. I really like their CHA-SIU-BAO (BBQ Pork Buns), HA-GAO (shrimp dumplings), SIU-MEI (Pork and Shrimp dumplings), and Egg Tarts. Because it was our first time there, we wanted to try out their roast duck. It is also very authentically made. There are definitely other dishes that were good too, but these were the few worth mentioning. 5. Cleanliness - Dining area appears clean. SUMMARY - I recommend this place and will likely return for more dim sum in the future.

Changs Chinese Okay…read morepeeps, listen up! I've lived in the Mo. City for the past 44 years. When I first moved here, everything West (South) of Hwy 6 was Frost ranch land. The closest place to get Chinese was the long closed King Bo on 59 @ Bissonnett. After their closing I discovered the also long closed 3-6-9 Chinese just off 59 and Sweet Water Blvd. The multiple offerings along Hwy 6 just haven't appealed to my palate as well as the Ginger Cafe and Ambassador inside the loop. Recently, a few Asian friends recommended Changs located on Hwy 6 next to Becks Prime and my wife and I loved it. Those of you who've lived out here will remember Ray Hays Cajun Cooking which had a split restaurant with dining room on one side of the kitchen and bar on the other. Changs occupies the space which was previously the bar. We called in an order for take consisting of ribs, egg rolls, pork fried rice, General Tso's Chicken, and Beef w/ Black Bean. All were excellent! The only drawback is the small dining area but we typically takeout anyway. I've finally found a new go to Chinese Restaurant in the Mo. City / Sugar Land area which will continue to get my business.

I've tried the Galleria location as well, but this review is strictly for Sugar Land--and it definitely has its own vibe. What keeps me coming back are two key things that make this my overall favorite Chinese restaurant and earn them five stars every time: their General Tso's Chicken is made with white meat, and they serve chicken egg rolls. That combination is harder to find than you'd think, and they execute both perfectly. The food is consistently excellent. The chicken fried rice deserves special mention--when you order it, be prepared for a massive portion. It comes piled high on the plate in a huge, rounded mound, and it's very good. You absolutely get your money's worth here. As for the ambiance, it's much more no-frills than the Galleria location. The dining area is small, with seating lined up and an almost direct view into the kitchen. The staff usually consists of a cook and a female cashier who also acts as the server. She's efficient, focused, and pretty much all business--no small talk, but the service gets the job done. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it. But if you want great portions, solid flavors, and a reliable neighborhood Chinese spot, Chang's in Sugar Land delivers every time.

We met up with some friends who are vegetarians and come here a lot. They recommended so many dishes that we didn't need any meat for our evening meal. We ordered sweet and sour veggies, Alings vegetable fried rice, and garlic veggies (that were spicy). If you like spice and garlic, you'd like that one. We also ordered some veggie noodles. The portion sizes are very large, so it was enough to share for four grown people and still have enough to take some home. And the food does not lack flavor! Everything tasted great. And for appetizers we ordered corn soup, hot and spicy soup, and steamed dumplings. The service was great, friendly and efficient. The food does not take long to come out. If you have a large party, this is a great place to go, or for a party of one or two, they have small tables to accommodate as well.
