Muffuletta and cheesesteak all day!!…read more That's our go to sammiches. Lots of folks, and I mean lots, really like the wow sauce. We think it just ok. The cheesesteak is super tasty, great bread steak sliced thin and cooked just right and American cheese to make melty. The hot muffuletta is one of the best in town. Plenty of meat and olive spread and the toasted muffuletta bread is so good. Service? What service you order at the cashier, not in the back, you pay your money, stay out of the way and wait for your number to get called. It's that simple. Don't wander around in the back looking at the deli counter confused, the place is too small and they don't take your order there. Don't try it, don't think about it, don't even look back there. The cashier is up front thats where you wanna be. When they call your number take your bag and leave. Walk away from the front door then shove it in your face. It's so good. Even if for some reason you didn't like the food that's ok, you got a real NOLA experience so know matter what you're a winner. I went by myself this time so only a cheesesteak pic, but just imagine that pic in muffuletta form with different toppings and no melty cheese.

They have so much to choose from. The beef steak is also super yummy. Grab a beer or whatever else you'd like to drink!

I pulled up on a Sunday and since I called it in just under an hour before closing, I decided to get it to go. I ordered it about twenty minutes out and when I arrived, it was ready. The takeout process was in itself unique. I pulled up to what they called a "yellow tollbooth) to pay. He called on his radio that I paid and I pulled up to a covered door and they handed off my food. The overall ambiance from outside looked cool enough. Next time, I will eat it there, but I just did not want to be inconsiderate to everyone getting out on time. I found a local park and tore into my food. I went with the large surf and turf po' boy (roast beef and shrimp) and found it very good. For the price point, out the door with taxes, it was just over twenty dollars. Parkway Bakery and Tavern have been around since 1911, so obviously they are doing something right. Go check them out.

It really needed a lot of crystal hot sauce. They have a ton of seating and parking. We came around 10:30am before the morning rush. The line starts building before noon.
