Poboy and fries

Pretty good PoBoy and great fries! Nice little local place, friendly, and down home cooking. Worth a try!

I stopped by one of the local spots and was not let down. This establishment is in the middle of a neighborhood a block or two off the main highway but on the corner so you can't miss it. Serves hot food plates as well. I know it says food store but it's definitely a restaurant as well. I had the hamburger poboy and it was cooked to perfection and very delicious.

Two egg breakfast with bacon, grits, and biscuit. (Are some already) always hot, fast, and delicious!

I eat here a couple of times a week. They have traditional daily specials as well as a full poboy and plate lunch menu. They have some of the best roast red poboys in the area. Small and quaint but awesome food and service. The place is clean and and a local hotspot.

Arabi Food Store is reliably good. Their shrimp poboy is always delicious - a really great choice for lunch. Several of their daily specials are among my favorite choices. I especially love the chicken fried steak and lasagna entrees. Their cold beverage selection is huge. Seriously, if you can't find it in their coolers you don't really need to drink it. Seating options are plentiful. One thing to note: The seating options are at bar height, so it may be problematic for those with very small children or physical challenges to dine-in.

Arguably the best poboys in Nola. I enjoy the veal cutlet dressed... however each are good. Super busy for lunch time.

Best shrimp poboy. Fresh bread, huge shrimp that were not overly fried, delicate sauce and overall wonderful.

The Joint - Two meat combo with mac & cheese and potato salad

There was tons of parking all around the park across the street. Inside had something like 6 or 8 tables and a bar to sit at. They also have outdoor seating. You order at the register and they bring it out to you. I ordered the 2 meat 1 side combo. They didn't have burnt ends at the time, which I'm still dying to try. Instead I went with ribs and chicken with Mac and cheese. I've been getting used to bbq places bringing you small wimpy ribs, but this says two ribs on the menu it's more like three and some change they're so big. These ribs were so juicy, perfect amount of char, tons of flavor. Throw some of the table bbq to dip in and wow. Same with the chicken juicy, with a light crispy skin, and also even better with the bbq. Mac and cheese was also great. It was super cheesy and had a nice kick to it.

I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the ribs with a side of baked beans. The food came out pretty fast. The burnt ends were delicious. Tender and seasoned well I also loved the bbq sauce. The ribs were okay. They were Luke warm so they got cold pretty fast and were over cooked. I enjoyed the baked beans and they give you a hearty portion. Overall pretty good I would definitely go back to get another order of burnt ends.

The space is spacious, open, airy, and filled with good energy--perfect for unwinding after a long day. Happy hour is solid with a nice variety of drink options, great prices and the live music featuring Teena May really sets the mood without overpowering conversation. Now let's talk about the real star of the show: the chicken sandwich. WHOA. This is a must-have. So good it deserves its own moment. Crispy, flavorful, and unforgettable--I'm already planning my return just for that sandwich alone. Between the vibes, happy hour specials, and live music, this spot checks all the boxes. Definitely will be back (and yes, ordering that chicken sandwich again). Elite-approved

Unbeatable food, unbeatable vibe…read more This place has a dedicated gluten-free fryer! What a pleasure, to have a decadent, fried chicken sandwich (and not feel at all ill, zero cross-contamination). This baby is huge, too--more than enough for one meal if you're ravenous, probably two if you're not. The Brussels sprouts are crispy and well-seasoned, as are the fries (generous portions there too, various options for house-made seasonings and condiments). Happy hour specials are unbeatable. There's live music every night--chill enough on a Monday to bring my laptop and get some work done. Bartenders are great and unexpectedly friendly. Love the spacious, curated groupings of chairs and sofas, which means you can have an intimate gathering in public, or, like me, have some space to yourself. The only downside is that the owner is 86ing the restaurant/bar part and moving to an events-only space. What a bummer for Bywater! RUN over there before it closes, people. Maybe we can flood it with business and change his mind. ;)

The line stretched to the door, but we were out and headed to Jackson Square with our sandwich in less than 20 minutes. (So much better than sitting in the deli!). The bread holds up to the cold cuts and olive tapenade. We ordered 1.5 sandwiches and didn't even crack open the half sandwich, 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and one kid. We also shared a pistachio cheesecake, which was delicious. I'd eat this sandwich any day. So. Good.

I…read morenever ever write reviews because I believe they hurt small businesses and feeds the egos of the ignorant, but that being said this place pissed me the fuck off with their service. I come to central deli whenever I'm with someone not from New Orleans due to the fact their muffuletta is quintessential! I would like to reiterate nothing was wrong with the food , great food purely with the lady taking orders. I got a classic half muffuletta and a "glass" San pellegrino. The lady then told me open glass is prohibited in New Orleans , I retorted with "o really I didn't know that , since when?" Before I could finish The lady then yelled with "SINCE FOREVER, IM SORRY YOUVE BEEN TO BAD BARS WHERE THEY SERVE YOU GLASS ITS BEEN ILLEGAL SINCE THE 50s" which isn't true the city changed the law in 2001. She then proceeded to open my glass bottle even though I told her I didn't want it open, so I the asked if I could get another one since she was in rage mode and didn't understand that she just contradicted herself. As I asked for the second San Pellegrino, she then takes the first one and goes "NO PROBLEM THANKS FOR THE FREE DRINK", and starts to drink the San Pellegrino infront of me as I check out, making thirst quenching noises like "AHH". As I leave she can't help but remind me for her free drink again. I'm pretty sure the management witness this whole situation and I hope they do something about, that lady doesn't realize what hospitality is and needs to be fired. I did nothing to her and I bet I wasn't the first she has blow up on. But in my eyes absolutely unacceptable.
