They made sure to follow up with me and make sure everything was perfect to surprise my boyfriend. We opted for a 4-person light omakase (10 pieces). One of our guests is a picky eater and they were super accommodating. He ended up having mostly salmon, yellowtail and veggies but everything was varied so he could have a similar experience to us! We did the sake pairings add-on and it was delicious. They brought over 3 different types and each were crisp and matched well with the omakase. My faves were: -Perch (so fresh!) -Hotate (scallop) -Uni (usually I don't like Uni [a sin as a foodie I know] but this was soo good) -both salmons (king and Scottish) -sea eel (similar to unagi but apparently diff and way better imo) -the cheesecake was a great sweet ending to the meal Kenji was our sushi chef and he was AMAZING. So nice, approachable and knowledgeable. You can tell he's honed his craft and takes pride in his work. We also had a waitress who was just as great (this was back in June and I forget her name) They both made sure to keep our drinks full, our bites fresh and the vibe/fun going! They interacted with us and told us about the different dishes and fish we were eating but also gave us private time. They also took pictures for us! Can't thank them enough for making it such a special event. They were quick to set up, professional and cleaned up efficiently afterwards. They brought everything we would need, plates, sake glasses etc. Overall, it is expensive but imo worth it! You pay for the quality, service and it's all done in your home! I didn't have to lift a finger. Best sushi I've had in NYC so far. I would 1000% recommend Tomokase and can't wait to try them again.

The events kick off in the dining room, which can comfortably seat about 15 people. Once we're done, you're back in the dining room to taste your creations, and if you're up for it, there's wine to go along with it. Not only did we have 40 people to feed, there were about 15 food allergies for the chef to work around. It was a tall order. But an order fit for Miette!!! We had 3 stations to work/cook in, we shifted every so often while others spoke and enjoyed wine (BYOB). Miette suggested the wine shipped a day earlier so they could chill the whites. (amazing) The food was amazing, and for those who had dietary restrictions, the chef was 5 steps ahead and already prepared and alternative! We had an amazing time, learned a lot, and requested recipes! it was an intimate space for 40, but we were able to cook, lounge, and drink very comfortably. As soon as we walked in, it smelled amazing! The size of the location was perfect because we were always engaged. (with cooking or each other) Sally was my point of contact - she was 100% professional, patient, great communicator, and worked with us and the chef seamlessly. I cannot brag enough on Miette. What also speaks volumes is when I was looking for a cooking class, ANOTHER class suggested that I look into Miette. (their space was not big enough). But I was already communicating with Sally because she is so fast with communication. The other class responded days after my inquiry. Miette was already on my books to work with!

Our chef text the day of and communicated that it would take him about 2 hours to get to us. Didn't understand that since the company seemed to have a presence in Tampa Bay Area and said that on their website. Our chef arrived 5-10 minutes late and looked extremely overwhelmed during the beginning. His shirt was missing at button on the bottom exposing his belly at times and was unprofessional, since I do think that is a food violation in this setting. Everything he cooked came out of these clear produce bags which he ripped open and put on the grill (unappetizing). We had a variety of protein selections and the ribs were definitely the same as the steak, which we questioned. Steak was overcooked at the fault of our particular chef. Overall presentation was subpar, given the wrinkled up tarp that he placed under his grill. Maybe some can see past this, but when I treat my family to a meal costing between $600-700, I have expectations of food quality. Like I said, my daughter was happy and entertained...so I did not complain, but want to put this perspective out there.

They guided us along from the beginning exploratory conversations, through the booking, the food and room setup, to the execution of the event. Wow...they are awesome and they know their stuff! Everything was a smashing success. Special kudos to how they knew all of what to expect too...ie. they were spot on right down to knowing certain foods wouldn't really be eaten as much as others (yes, we went against their advice and yes, we were wrong...lol...but good news is I have tons of leftovers for lunch this week!) Other notes: East Wing is perfect for about 50 people, especially if you need tables and other things laid out in the space. Its well lit but private, their is a bathroom in the room, there are great nooks and crannies to store things (strollers, presents, etc) and the food is both delicious and portioned correctly. We did a lot of research and the way EDBM prices its party packages is by far the best, especially for the nicer ambiance and food quality. They are upfront with all their charges, and at the end of the day, you definitely get more for your money than you would at other places around town of similar size and service. Also, a special kudos to their onsite party host, Lindsay. She is a master party manager, bartender, hostess, problem solver, and generally kind-spirited person. She answered questions, made us comfortable and assisted us in every possible way. Amazing at her job! They all are - Christine, Niki and Brittany. Bravo! We would 100% recommend EDBM to any and all who seek a suggestion for where to have a party.

I can't remember all of the names but I believe there was a Brittany, Christine and I want to say Kate. Our first part of the night we started off at the Gin Mill for dinner. I got to be honest the food was a lot better than what I thought it was going to be. Pasta, Chicken, Steak, potatoes, tator tots, all delicious. Maggie, who was I guess the host of the party was excellent along with our bartender. I cannot remember her name but she was blonde (sorry) and very on top of whatever drinks we needed. I rate everything at this place a 10 Our limo driver Steve who was flat out the man...enough said!!!!! He catered to us as best as he could and went above and beyond. I would definitely have him as a limo driver again. As Steve took us to Down the hatch, the bartenders were there ready to wait on us, and they didn't disappoint. (Maggie called ahead for us!) The one down point of the night was when we ordered wings the staff brought the wings and set them up over on a shelf by the main door. The bouncer came over and asked us to clear the doorway. I understand 100% he was doing his job, but this is where the staff put the wings. I explained to him that we will move out of the way the best we could to not block the doorway, but asked him where were we going to go to eat? I said if you can find us a table I will gladly move. This bouncer had a Dallas Cowboys hat on and, said " you want me to find you a table, not my problem. Okay guy! We left immediately! Guy was just a rude................well you get the point. I called Maggie to explain to her the situation immediately and made sure she knew that we were not out of control, not causing any problems etc.... Next up, 3 sheets saloon. Everything about this place was outstanding. We had a waitress and I can't remember her name, but she was from Australia and she just kept bringing round after round until the open bar time was up! The bouncer Ivan was pretty awesome too. He kept us entertained throughout the night. All in all, the night turned out to be a good time..and I would recommend booking as everything went smoothly with the exception of the bouncer issue, but one guy with an ego, wasn't going to ruin our night.
