He's cooking at a restaurant we show up, he's selling coquito and his famous arepas, we are buying. He cooks for you at home for a private event we hire him. Private Event In June 2022, we hired him to cook for my 40th birthday. Everything we expected out of his work that night, he delivered plus more. I was 36 weeks pregnant at that time as well and everything he made was to die for. The great thing about him cooking for you for a private event is that you pick out what you want from his menu and he has various options to select from. Him and his team cleanup afterwards and you wouldn't even know they were there. Our choices from his Spring/Summer menu was the following: Peach salad, his award winning arepas, lobster rolls, chicken cordon bleu, salmon, filet mignon, with 3 sides: potatoes, squash & zucchini's and coconut rice. oh and croissant & maple glazed doughnut pudding. Nine months later my family and friends can't stop talking about that night. 2022 Valentine's Day Pop-Up This was our second Valentine's Day pop-up we attended from the Chef, this time he incorporated his Italian dining experience from his European trip last year and combined it with his traditional dishes and made it his own. Each dish had a touch of Italy and I loved every bite. from the red wine beurre blanc sauce on the filet mignon, pesto rigatoni and the vanilla panna cotta dessert. Our first Valentine's Day Pop-up was right before the world shut down in February 2019. We met a lovely couple at our table and we are friends with them ever since. My now-husband and I were searching for chefs to cater our small, intimate wedding of 13 people in our home. We found Jason on Yelp and from his first friendly email and sample menu, we knew it was a perfect fit. Thank you, Yelp! It is not hyperbole when I tell you that Jason's Kitchen is some of the best food you will ever eat. Jason and June are phenomenal chefs; to eat their Michelin Star-worthy food in your own home feels like a decadent privilege reserved for royalty. A few of our favorite dishes were the yellowtail crudo (to die for), tuna tartare (floated up to heaven), mini french onion soup bites (became reincarnated), burrata salad (was reborn), paella (lived a full other life), and rack of lamb with pesto sauce (found enlightenment). They worked with attentiveness, diligence, and grace, but what was most impressive was the down-to-earth, calm, and good-natured attitude throughout the night. The spectacular food AND their presence was truly an amazing addition to our day. Special shout-out to Jason for being a fellow Petty fan. The server, Marybeth, and the bartender, Anthony, carried the same good-natured, relaxed, and kind presence. I know things can happen but he did not use the word "emergency" when leaving his message that he was canceling. Fortunately I have world's greatest nephew so he took me to an amazing Italian restaurant, instead, for my birthday, after we spent a glorious day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And he bought me beautiful earrings. He really is the greatest nephew. I had a wonderful birthday. When considering this business, I think it's important to know that canceling can, and does, happen, and apparently in the absence of an emergency.
