The maître d' was pleasant and accommodating when three of us arrived 30 minutes early for our party-of-seven reservation, and we were happily seated at the bar for a pre-dinner drink. As I passed into the dining room, I noticed the window into the kitchen, which added to the ambiance. The waitstaff were smartly attired, professional, and polished. Our servers were knowledgeable, efficient, and truly outstanding--it's been years since I've experienced such solid table service. For starters, we shared several plates. Unfortunately, our tasting board (an assortment of vegetables, pita, hummus, and tzatziki) tasted as if someone had taken a salt grinder to the whole thing. A tired legend…read more There was a time when this place was synonymous with Greek food and culture. The late 70s and 80s were the heyday. Unfortunately I think time has passed it by. The food is still ok and the service is nice, but the place feels old and out of date. It's drab inside. I think with some modern touches and a spruce up of the menu it could be hopping again. KC is lacking a go to casual Greek restaurant in my opinion. Someone just needs to love it again. It has promise. The dips we had were good but probably a bit too much garlic in all of them. The spicy feta was the standout and it wasn't spicy. The gyro meat was tasty and you get a lot of it, and I think their salad dressing holds up. So those should be the basis of a refresh. There are things to like. This is one of those places that to me is so close but needs a refresh. The menu, decor, everything just needs something to attract folks in to eat.
