I am writing this review on a Windows 7 computer that I thought for sure would have to be buried. Two big, glitzy places told me they did not work on Windows 7 anything, and I brought the CPU to Brendan as a last resort. When you arrive at 30 Main you think "hole in the wall" but inside is magic! Brendan and his staff are so welcoming that you immediately feel at home. He took a quick look inside the CPU and then most apologetically asked if I could leave it with him. He promised to call me at 5 pm with a verdict. The call came at 4:30. Would I like to have my hard drive moved into another CPU? That way, I wouldn't lose any of my documents or programs. So I said sure. Next morning, I get a text saying the cpu was ready. Turns out that the diagnostic test was faulty, and it was an easy repair. So I received my original CPU back, and I bought a used monitor to go with it. I was expecting a humongous bill, but the price for the repair and the monitor was so reasonable, I felt that I had been given a gift. I highly recommend you check with Brendan Cheever before giving up on your technology. He's an honest man, and if he can't fix it, he'll tell you. I will make him my first stop in anything computerish from now on. He is a miracle worker. read more

Used them before a few times and it was great. But this last time will be my last. Got my screen fixed but after around two months, the screen went black. Went back because was told it's still under warranty. But the guy couldn't figure out what was wrong with it without pulling off the screen and said he didn't want to do that cuz he didn't know what was wrong with it. I felt like he didn't want to fix something without being paid. I left with my broken phone :( read more

Wow. What a fabulous experience I had with Brendan. Although he couldn't work on the Moto Z droid phone I had, he walked me through the options I had and how and why I should approach the next step. I felt he went out of his way to explain the "cell phone world" even though he doesn't work on Motorola phones. Both myself and my husbands iPhone 6 have been shattered for months now due to our toddler son. We kept putting it off because we could still see our screens and well babies are expensive! A few more big cracks and now I really needed to get them fixed because emails could not be read. I hate the mall and refused to go anywhere near it. After reading great reviews of cheevers and the reasonable prices for 2 to be fixed I decided to check them out in downtown Ashland near our house. I would call this place a hidden gem. It's tucked behind Main Street in the back of the crossfit building. The guys working there were very nice and personable. Both our phones were fixed within and hour and I was 100 percent satisfied with their work! I have already recommend to co workers. Also I'm able to write this review on a brand new screen!!!! :) all in a days (hour) work . Yayyy Also I would completely ignore the person who gave them 1 star..... I can't say enough good things about this business. I'm a nurse that went to them about 6 months ago with an iPhone that had a black screen. Not only were they able to accurately diagnose the problem and offered me a competitive price to fix it, but at the time I was in a terrible situation without having a working phone. I am a private duty nurse who works in people's homes. I was on my way to a clients house for the first time.. Had no gps... No means of contacting my boss and letting them know the progress of my patient. These guys were nice enough to offer to let me take one of their new phones to borrow free of charge. Although I did not take them up on it, because I was too afraid I would scratch it, and ultimately just ran out and bought a new one, the gesture/customer service was unforgettable. I shattered the screen on my iPhone a few months ago. Cheever is a local company so I went to them first. I did have an estimated cost to replace when I went in . Brendan was able to replace the screen while I waited at a much more reasonable price than I had expected. I have stopped in a few times with technical questions about my iPhone. iPhone 6 Plus went for a swim in the ocean and it wasn't backed up :( This place was recommended by a friend and it was close to work so I gave it a shot. I've been to a few of these "iPhone fix" places but hands down this was the best experience. Everyone there was really friendly, honest and super helpful. They let me know right upfront that they may not be able to revive my phone but would give it a shot. If they can fix it they'll call me to go over cost etc... If they can't fix it- no charge. They switched out a few parts and were able to get the phone on. The phone had some permanent damage which they explained then provided me some options including just paying a fee to get all the data off my phone which was great!!! (remember I didn't back it up ) These guys were great to work with. Let's be honest I'd rather stop breaking phones or dropping them in water but if it happens again... Absolutely avoid this place! Terrible service! I got deceived by the reviews which are extremely overrated. I got my iphone screen repaired here when I accidentally dropped on the road. The prices were same as other business offer for screen repair. They repaired by replacing screen which was defective.. The replaced screen has very very minute defects which you cannot see by naked eye which I noticed while having microscopic glasses on at work. Save your money and pay for a better service at a different location. PS: Regarding comments made by the owner - With due respect, I would not need any favor from your business in regards to the bad review I have posted. I have posted what I experienced as a customer and what I felt about your service. Regarding the microscopic glasses, in fact you could not see the defects with you naked eyes until you had to put on different glasses to see them. Similar to your confidence in your so called "fake iPhone screen material" I am also pretty sure that the defects are not from daily use. Your business location is in a storage like place with very less light and for these defects to be noticed you need very bright light/special glasses. I took a choice based on the reviews to repair the screen and since I felt it was not correct I posted my experience. The weekend before we were leaving for a 12 day trip I noticed that my phone was not responding to the home button and that there was a faint shadow down the middle of the screen when viewing a screen with a white background. So I called on a Monday morning and asked if this was something they thought they could fix. I was told that I could come right down and that they would take a look @ no charge. I had barely walked in the door when one of the workers asked if they could help me (it looked like he and another worker were about to take a break). I explained what I had called and was told by Brendan to come in for them to look at the phone and what my issues were. The tech then walked me over to his work bench to take a look at the phone. Once the phone was in his hands and said "I think it's your battery, see the slight bulge in the phone" which I did see as soon as he pointed it out! Sure enough the battery had expanded and was pushing against the screen making the phone bow. This caused the home button not to make a proper connection most of the time and he thought it could be the cause of the screen shadow. Any way 5 mins. tops and $65.00 later my phone was working like new! Luckily this was all caught before the battery actually started leaking - that would have been horrible. The tech warned me that the new batteries needed to be drained all the way down and recharged a few times before the charge would last. That has turned out to be the case. Hard to really judge because with traveling we used the Maps function etc and they are all battery hogs! But I've found that replacement batteries for Apple products in general (even when purchased at an Apple store) don't seem to be as good as the original batteries. My battery doesn't seem to last as long as the original but it last long enough for my needs. I'm rarely away from a charging opportunity for more than 24 hours. Anyway, $65 vs. $600+ I was very pleased. This was about 2.5 weeks ago and the phone is still functioning like new. Just an aside - my husband's iPhone got wet and died last August. I brought that phone in too as a donation incase there were usable parts and I needed to recycle it anyway. Just went down yesterday to enter my husbands password so the phone could be wiped - they got it working 9 months later! I didn't even consider trying to have a water damaged phone repaired! I brought my iPad mini in because of a cracked screen. Tom fixed it and it looked brand new. After a day or two it began experiencing some issues with the digitizer and I brought it back. If I could, I would give more stars! Hands down the best place to get your screen repaired. My son cracked his iphone 6 screen. Phone was operating fine, just really horrible to look at through all the cracks. Walked into Cheever at 2:45 on a Tuesday and walked out 20 minutes later with a repaired screen. Phone looks brand new. Brendan was very professional and courteous - even, cleaned up the camera which was fogged up but is now totally cleared!
