We arrived in Norcross GA and wanted a quick meal before we turned in for the night. We saw Cheeseburger Bobby's on YELP and since it had good reviews and was basically across the street from where we were staying, we decided to give it a try. The concept is little different than most burger joints. They have a large condiment bar and it is basically up to you on how you dress your burger. Not a bad idea at all IMO. The burger was ready within a few minutes of placing our order and we then went about dressing our burger. The burgers are a decent size and were cooked perfectly. The condiment bar has a very nice variety. I loved how they had leaf lettuce and shredded lettuce ( I always prefer the leaf variety) and they had different spices to add and of course different sauces. The toppings were very fresh and at the proper temperature. I really liked their fires and you get a HUGE amount with your order. They reminded me of Five Guy's fries and they were delicious. I think they are fairly expensive for what they offer but not horribly bad. Would I go back again? Probably if I lived in the Norcross area. But, it wouldn't be in must eat destination for a burger IMO. read more

First visit to Cheeseburger Bobby's...and at the new location in Norcross. After reading some of the reviews of other locations, we were a bit skeptical. But...it was really good! The burgers are good, solid beefy burgers...quite good tasting and not covered up with a lot of other stuff. Could have used a bit more seasoning (salt/pepper during cooking), but otherwise prepared well. Buns were able to stand up to the patties and hold up throughout eating the burger...at some places the buns fall apart, but not here. The fries were also prepared well...and the available toppings/sauces for the fries stood out. Being able to get some ranch dressing for the fries without begging was appreciated. Many people have "complained" about the toppings bar, but we like the idea...you can control what you want and the amount that you want. At many places, the cooks top the burgers and you end up with TONS of ketchup and little lettuce...or vice versa...here, you have full control. One thing that wifey noted was that she liked the music selection playing in the restaurant...it was late 70's/early 80's music...our time of "growing up"...so it went well with the burgers! I also looooooved the fact that I could choose between pickles and other toppings-- all of which looked so fresh and colorful! At cheeseburger Bobby's you put the lettuce, tomato, and other fixings on your burger. So why does it take so long for my food to come out and why do I need one of those little buzzer notifiers. Seems a bit overkill to me. Anyway, I'm conflicted about this place. On one hand, what they prepare (the grilled burger patty, the bun and fries) is good. On the other hand, I do the other half of the work and I always mess it up. So, I don't want to rate them down based on my additions detracting from the experience. This is especially true since I believe a good burger is created by balancing the condiments and fixings, something I never get right myself. So what about the food: Well, the burger I ordered was juicy but nothing special. After I added what I wanted to it, I felt it was like something I might achieve at home. Now if the taste is something I can achieve on my own then it is a disappointing dining experience. I also got the cheese fries and I regretted ordering the cheese. The cheese is best described as nacho cheese; think of the stuff you get in a gas station. The resulting combination was marginally better than the fries by themselves. Overall, I was disappointed. I was running an errand for the wife when I happened upon Cheeseburger Bobby's. I had only eaten at one once before and remembered it as being very impressive. So, I decided to drop in. Boy, am I glad that I did! The Food was delicious and the service was impeccable! If you like burgers, this is a great blend between Fuddruckers and Five Guys. Since I had only been here once, I asked the cashier a lot of questions. She was excellent with her customer service. It was the lunch rush and the place was still immaculate. I had the Smokehouse Burger combo with fries. The bacon was crisp and the burger succulent. The fries were delicious. The toppings bar was filled with fresh items. They even had a variety of seasonings for your fries (e.g., Cajun, ranch, salt and vinegar, jalapeño). I wish there was a location closer to my house. read more

The concept is nice but the food isn't executed well for me. I got the single cheeseburger meal that comes with a load of fries and a drink for $8.88. The patty was similar in size to a Whoppers meaning it wasn't that wide or thick. But it was salty. The buns were toasted on the inside, which was a nice touch. The fries were more disappointing. They tasted like the oil was reused too many times. It had that texture and taste. Yes you get a ton but tons of it doesn't make it taste better. You get to pick your toppings once you collect your burger. The inside is pretty large and well maintained. They have some TVs that were playing sports. The lady at the front counter was friendly and helpful. There was one miscommunication where I called in my order so I wouldn't have to wait but I waited for an order that was already prepared. Not a big deal. Those things happen. But in the end the burger and fries were disappointing and since that's the core of their menu I can't recommend them. read more

This is one of my favorite burger joints. The burgers and fries are made hot and fresh, and the full bar of do-it-yourself toppings is fantastic. The service is top-notch and very friendly, and it isn't unusual to find the staff stopping by to check on your experience. The only downside is how loud it can get inside the restaurant, which is decorated in an industrial style. That is easily remedied by sitting outside on the covered patio to enjoy your burger. read more

My husband introduced me to Cheeseburger Bobby's and it has been a great place to eat a filling meal for not a ton of money. They have a wide variety of toppings to put on your burger, sandwich, or hot dog. The kid meals are a good size for my little one- there's usually some extra that we as parents get to eat and the little one leaves with a full belly. There is usually a game on to watch if you want while you eat. I also like the custard in addition to the burgers/sandwiches/hot dogs that they offer, but some of the toppings are a bit on the sweet side for my taste (I have asked them to not put on as much of the topping and they have been happy to do so). My only complaint is that sometimes this location doesn't have many clean tables available. I wish they would be able to wipe them down and clean them off a bit more often- I'm not sure if they don't have enough staff or if we're just coming in at the wrong times. read more

Whatever kinks they had when first opened are gone now. Servers are consistently friendly, burgers are prepared properly, and shakes are AWESOME! Interior is nothing fancy, but if it were, you would have to pay for it. Local police eat here often, which is always a good sign since so many places want cops to eat there. From outside, it may sometimes look dark and like it is closed, but that is just the window shades. read more

Before today, I'd probably have given Bobby's a 3.5, maybe a 4. While eating there this evening, I saw some knucklehead employee spraying cleaner on the nice, shiny metal ABOVE the grill and potatoes! In theory, the cooking area is covered, but explain that to the spray bottle! The metal surface is vertical, protruding out from the grill, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that that spray can directly or indirectly hit the food. No more meals there for me until I can read that management has either fired or trained the staff. read more

I took my class of Special Needs students to Cheeseburger Bobby's for a treat after a field trip. We were welcomed with open arms by the staff. It turned out there were 3 other classes visiting at the same time as my class. The restraint was full of students and teachers. The staff was amazing and "comped" many of the student meals. The food was great and the kids had a blast . I will be back many times with my family and my students. Excellent burger joint. Perfectly cooked fresh hand cut french fries left to be seasoned by yourself with 6 to 7 different flavors. Bright fresh clean environment . Superfresh fixings bar. Friendly smiling service and a walk around with extra french fries if you want . This place is way better than 5 guys but still not as good as the counter. Still nothing comes close to the flavor of the beef itself at the counter. I had the pastrami burger which was excellent it had thick slices of peppered pastrami. Very satisfying. The burgers are absolutely awesome! Hubby said better than burger 21! He got the Carolina BBQ burger which I tasted and it was amazing, and I usually don't like all the extra, like coleslaw, bacon, pepperjack, BBQ mustard something, but it was darn good. I got the basic cheeseburger and it was traditionally great! We shared a half and half-(fries and onion rings), and a cookie and cream shake and the shake was super creamy! I like the concept of Cheeseburger Bobby's. It's set up as a build your own burger place where you add your own fixins and condiments. I like to have control over what I'm eating, so this works for me. I do wish they had more in the way of fixins though. They have the standard lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. I think I have been spoiled by the gourmet burger spots in Atlanta. I have grown accustomed to avocado and hot relish and all kinds of other off the wall, non traditional accompaniments. The service at Cheeseburger Bobby's was very friendly. There was even a "fry lady" that came around and asked us if we wanted extra fries to go with the already huge portion we had ordered. Talk about all American! I ordered the veggie burger here and it was pretty good. I think it was just a standard Garden Burger, but I have to applaud any burger joint that considers the vegetarians that may end up at their establishment. The fries were also pretty good and there were a number of spices available to top your taters. I tried the Cajun spice for a little kick. Normally I do not write about chain restaurants however I feel this place does deserve a review to mention the following reasons : 1. Cheeseburger Bobby's was founded in 2007 by Bobby Stoll and is a local Atlanta fast food chain offering classic burger and milkshakes (AKA support local businesses) 2. Parking- Because this place is in a large outdoor strip mall I can always find parking. It is located right next to the Dicks in Norcross/peachtree corners. 3.. Affordable and fast. For those like me that work in peachtree corners, this place offers a fast and cheap lunch option. You can always find a table here and the line to order is never long. 4. Consistency- This place is consistent. The food is nothing flashy, but every time the taste is reliably the same. I have never gotten sick from the food here. 5. Burgers in Norcross/Peachtree Corners- The area does not offer many good burger spots, so this is probably the best burger you can find in the area. 6. Full stocked- The self serve toppings/ seasoning/drinks/condiments are always full stocked. I never have to worry about possibly having to eat a burger without something (ex: can you imagine having to eat a burger without lettuce or tomato? Its happened to me before at other burger place and it total throws off your experience and meal) 6. Clean- Tables are always kept clean. They always have someone wipe down the tables after someone has left. 7. Portion - Huge portions. For the burger and fries. Overall and in summary, I like that this place provides a fast, affordable, and consistent burger place for me to enjoy when I am in the area. Nothing flashy, but reliable. read more

I had the bucket list burger. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked and assembled like they actually cared. The house sauce was poured perfectly inside of the onion ring. All of my toppings were on the side. I got can't food to go. Everything was packaged perfectly. I'm not writing the review because the burger was amazing. It was though. I'm writing because I also work in the food service industry, and if someone were to come in right before closing they usually don't receive the best service. That was not the case. I finally decided to try this place. I ordered the mushroom & swiss burger. Waited a good 15 minutes for my food #strike 1 and it wasn't even that busy. I saw the guy ahead of me get his meal so I knew I was next and was in great anticipation. Sure enough my buzzer went off. The guy who sets the food on the counter scooped a load of sautéed mushrooms and dumped it on the burger. Definitely strike 2! Who does that? Even though I was famished, the burger was just okay. E. Coli epidemic waiting to happen... The gimmicky toppings bar seemed like a mild inconvenience at first. If I wanted to do all the work, I'd stay at home and cook. But then, I saw an unsupervised little kid reach his grubby hands into one of the toppings containers and grab a handful. The employee standing nearby either didn't notice or didn't care. I know, that's always a risk with any type of self-serve "bar" (Salad, etc). But the atmosphere at Bobby's makes me think that this probably happens pretty often. Kids don't usually order salad bars. Here, the whole idea seems to hook kids with the idea of making their own burger. If it wasn't for that disgusting incident, I'd rate it three stars, the food was good (what I ate before I threw it out) but the prices are high. I definitely won't be able to eat here again. They make some simple tasty burgers, and the meat it self is just right. But the best part has to be the topping bar w/ all the veggies and pickled condiments you can just grab whenever. I went there with my wife and we each had a burger and she had a shake. It was pretty good. Nothing amazing but pretty good. We will definitely go back. I do like how they have all the fixings for your burger available. They also have a bunch of flavored seasoning salts for your fries.
