We returned to the Canton CB after they had been closed for awhile. The service was spotty due to new employees. No problem; that will improve with experience. The food was the big disappointment. The hamburger had a very small patty, the bun was cool and dry, not grilled, and the fries were definitely subpar from how I remembered them. This place makes real burgers not those generic soy burgers. I mean with real beef. There is a huge difference. These burgers do not look like they are pre-made out of a plastic bag. They look to be hand made. The best. What makes them even better is the fixings bar. All fresh toppings and ingredients. Nothing old, stale or wilted. Burger was great, fries were less here than offered at the Hiram location, which was a tad bit disappointing. A friend and I popped over for dinner. The blueberry cheesecake sundae was AMAZING. Toppings on the bar were fresh and the restaurant was neat, bright, and clean. Service was timely and efficient. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger (with cheddar cheese), and added lettuce, tomato, pickled onions (which were a nice touch, I'd never had them before), and regular onion. Wow, has this place gone downhill. We stopped in for a takeout order & shakes around 4:30pm on a Saturday. First thing we saw was the "no ice cream" sign on the door. We decided to place our order anyway, then got our drinks and sat down to wait. Not only were they out of ice cream, but they were also apparently out of diet coke. The table we waited at was sticky and there were several spots on floor where food or liquid had been spilled and not cleaned up. The glass door to the patio was also full of fingerprints. Been coming here for awhile for lunch. Today was the worst I've ever seen. They don't take cash today. The y were out of chicken fingers they were out of three of the soda choices. The ice cream machine has been broke for a couple of months now. All the napkin dispensers were empty. Had to pull off a roll that goes in the bathroom. Very disappointed with my visit here. Mostly with the staff and not so much the food. So I've come here before while in town and the food is always good. Today I brought my fiancé and I raved about this place for 4 hours before we came. I ordered the Chicken and Cheese sandwich and asked the girl not to put the cheese on because I'm lactose Intolerant. So I figured that helps your business save money on cheese. Before the chicken cooked, I came over to the cook and asked if I could just sub that cheese for a few mushrooms on the chicken. The female that was helping him said no! She looked at her screen and said you have to go up front and pay for them. I mentioned to that I didn't take the cheese which saves your business money and if she could just sub for a few mushrooms which cost less than $.25, her reply again was "no you'll have to go upfront to pay for them" At this point, had I not paid for my food I would have left and gave my money to a neighboring establishment. It's very disappointing how the person in charge here doesn't understand the difference in cost price for cheese versus mushrooms. A few mushrooms wouldn't break your establishment, and cheese carries a higher cost. We came up from Savannah to get ahead of the hurricane coming. I had planned to bring the entire family here tomorrow for lunch, because I always enjoyed the food. It's small errors like this, that causes business to flee to your competitors. A few mushrooms won't break your business, but bad leadership and horrible reviews definitely will slow it down! I hope someone reads this and takes action. read more

Perhaps the most exciting thing they can put on a burger is grilled onions and mushrooms. (Which is actually just the way I like it.) I mean, yeah, sure, there's bleu cheese and bacon and pepperjack cheese, and all those things. If you're not feeling like customizing your burger, there's a good selection of specialty burgers to choose from. These guys do milkshakes and sundaes, too. They look good, but I didn't eat one. CB's is kind of similar to what Fuddruckers use to be. You order at the counter from a build your own menu or from their combos. Then when your order is up, you walk up to the same counter and pick up your plate, then make your way over to a buffet line filled with fresh veggies of various variety. There is also condiments like mayo, ketchup and a few wild cards that CB makes "in-house". They also have different shakers full of seasoning for your fries or even add it to your burger. The patties are medium well.....period...you get no choices. They are on the thinner side, but not like Smash burger flat. I hate to say this because I am sure most people will not get it, but their burgers reminded me of a really good Wendy's burger, the way Wendy's use to be.....not the crappy version we know today. The buns are even the yellow "potato bun" like Wendy's. Fries are similar to Five Guys....handcut and fresh. The onion rings are straight from the freezer to the fryer, but they do the job just fine. All of the staff that we came in contact with were really nice and full of smiles and light chatting, so they have that going for them. The place was very clean and orderly as well. I wanted to try the place out, but honestly there are definitely better burger joints out there for the same price, so when I want a burger I will go to Five Guys or travel down to PDK and eat at Downwind. read more

I'm not sure what happened, but this place needs some work. I used to come here pretty often, but lately both the food and the condition of the restaurant could use a lot of improvement. While the veggie toppings are still fresh and the ice cream is still tasty, the burgers are smaller and overcooked, and the chicken is just kind of sad and greasy. The sauce pumps are held together with tape and the toilet paper holder in the men's restroom is hanging off the wall by 1 bolt. Everything in there feels kind of damp. My total came out to about $42 for two burger meals a milk shake and a kids meal, okay no biggie but what is annoying is after a 40 minute drive my $13 burger is made completely wrong no mushrooms no tomato no bacon and Swiss cheese when I only asked for bleu cheese. So I call the store and they can't return any of my money because I ordered online, they offered a two dollar credit to return but I told them that's extremely unlikely for me seeing that I just spend almost $50 for my food to be wrong and to not be offered so much as even an apology. The place kind of looks like a fast food joint, but MAN this was a great experience and not fast food at all! We aren't from the area and they were busy but got to us quick. Shanee had so much personality and definitely knew what she was doing. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak burgers and a couple concretes. I came in today to get their amazing chicken tenders. They are so good. The cook was awesome, professional and polite. The cashier girl however not so nice to a paying customer. I asked for a small box to put pickles in and she handed me one. As i am getting about 10 pickles and a piece of lettuce she tells me that the condiments bar is only if you get a burger?!? My first time hearing that as I am a regular customer. Not only that she took my order and handed me the box. So why would she do all of that and then say i can't get any toppings?!? I was fighting with one tomato for like 3 minutes trying to pick it up. And the lady was like. "Ma'am there's a reason that i told you that toppings bar is not for chicken meals because we have limited supply of food." I also watched her talk down to the cook!! They didn't have any ice cream (custard), which seems to be happening often. And the fries were grease soaked and soggy - a very sad state. And they had no tea whatsoever! Upcharge Pricing At This Location I've been dining at this location for over a year and a half now. In the past six months, I've noticed that they began to charge $0.75 for chocolate dip. So If you wish you add chocolate dip to a frozen custard waffle cone or sundae, you have to pay an extra of $0.75 (ONLY at this location). No other Cheeseburger Bobby's location I have visited in GA presents such an additional charge. In my several visits to this Norcross location, an employee named Thomas repeatedly charged $0.75 for an icecream-less dry cake cone. That's correct; I just wanted to give my one-year-old an empty cake cone without any ice cream in it. Additionally, I stopped once to take a frozen custard dipped waffle cone to go. I asked for an empty drinking cup (just any cup) to place the waffle cone upside down inside it. I was told, by the cash register employee, that he would have to charge me for any type of drinking cup, water cup included. No other Cheeseburger Bobby's location I have visited in GA presents such a gouging business model. In fact, I believe that franchisees have to follow the company's menu pricing and promotions. They do not have the contractual power to impose pricing variations or upcharges. Franchisees are required to comply with the franchise "system." I decided that I will not sponsor this particular Cheeseburger Bobby's location anymore. read more

I was told that this was akin to Five Guys but better. I can see what they were saying - straight forward blue collar burger with none of that fancy frilly farm-to-table business. I can appreciate the approach but the result was not well done, with the main reason being that the beef and bacon were too well done. Dry, no juices, and very little flavor. Not even the assortment of available sauces could salvage this burger. The accompanying fries were also very average. Five Guys has a superior product with comparably out-of-this-world fries. And considering Five Guys isn't even close to my favorite burger chain, you get the idea of where Cheeseburger Bobby's is on my food chain. Overall, I think the only benefit of CB is the price. Definitely lower than most and almost down to fast food levels. read more

First visit to Cheeseburger Bobby's...and at the new location in Norcross. After reading some of the reviews of other locations, we were a bit skeptical. But...it was really good! The burgers are good, solid beefy burgers...quite good tasting and not covered up with a lot of other stuff. Could have used a bit more seasoning (salt/pepper during cooking), but otherwise prepared well. Buns were able to stand up to the patties and hold up throughout eating the burger...at some places the buns fall apart, but not here. The fries were also prepared well...and the available toppings/sauces for the fries stood out. Being able to get some ranch dressing for the fries without begging was appreciated. Many people have "complained" about the toppings bar, but we like the idea...you can control what you want and the amount that you want. At many places, the cooks top the burgers and you end up with TONS of ketchup and little lettuce...or vice versa...here, you have full control. One thing that wifey noted was that she liked the music selection playing in the restaurant...it was late 70's/early 80's music...our time of "growing up"...so it went well with the burgers! Others may not like this music as much! Good place, glad it is near...and looking forward to another visit. read more

At cheeseburger Bobby's you put the lettuce, tomato, and other fixings on your burger. So why does it take so long for my food to come out and why do I need one of those little buzzer notifiers. Seems a bit overkill to me. Anyway, I'm conflicted about this place. On one hand, what they prepare (the grilled burger patty, the bun and fries) is good. On the other hand, I do the other half of the work and I always mess it up. So, I don't want to rate them down based on my additions detracting from the experience. This is especially true since I believe a good burger is created by balancing the condiments and fixings, something I never get right myself. So what about the food: Well, the burger I ordered was juicy but nothing special. After I added what I wanted to it, I felt it was like something I might achieve at home. Now if the taste is something I can achieve on my own then it is a disappointing dining experience. I also got the cheese fries and I regretted ordering the cheese. The cheese is best described as nacho cheese; think of the stuff you get in a gas station. The resulting combination was marginally better than the fries by themselves. Overall, I was disappointed.
