We walked in around 6 and most of the patrons were leaving having ate The plates empty meaning all the food was ate. The waitress was quick to take our order and give us water and tea. We ordered Thai meals I also ordered wontons with crab meat. They were really good when we received our food. It was hot and full of vegetables and very good. We will go back again. read more

Went to Oscoda to pick up my kiddo from camp and stumbled upon this place. I was a few minutes after their ordering time but they still put the order through for me. I had the rice and soup. Honestly feel it is some of the best Chinese food that I've ever had. When I return to Oscoda next year stopping here will be part of my trip. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars ! This place is comedic when it comes to Chinese food. After moving here from California I must say that this is only one of a long list of places here that aren't good at all and it's very embarrassing. DO NOT eat here, I'm surprised this place hasn't given me food poisoning yet. I've given it three chances and it still wasn't good. Very very bland, smells like it's already going bad after a few hours after eating and I have never been able to finish a full meal from here because of it. The food was mediocre. We got food to go and the interior was very small and odd. They were blasting Lizzo's About Damn Time (which I love), but it's a very odd choice for a restaurant. The crab rangoons were decent. The generals chicken and kung pao chicken were okay. The honey chicken was the best of the 3, but still not good enough to ever go back. The fried rice had no veggies or egg, just a very small amount of onion and absolutely no flavor. Save yourself time and money and eat somewhere else. read more

Food has been average or slightly above for years, but more recently it's really gone downhill. Meat portions on subgum has decreased noticeably and they now use tiny, cup o' noodle shrimps instead of standard sized. Interior is dated and feels unclean. read more

If I could give this business no stars, I would. It is unfortunate that they are the only Chinese food restaurant in Oscoda. I searched for Chinese restaurants on Google, and their business came up. I called, but there was no answer. Instead, a message played stating their hours and that they didn't take orders a half hour before closing. Since it was 7pm and they closed at 8, I had to drive to the restaurant to place my order. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:10pm, I let the waitress know that I wanted to place an order, and she told me it would be a 40 min. wait for the food once I ordered, to which I replied, "no problem." I waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to take my order. When she finally came back, she told me that they were no longer taking orders. I looked at the clock and looked at her and said, "but it's only 7:25pm." She replied, "I know, but we are too busy, so we are not taking any more orders." So, in a nutshell, they will not answer their phone if they are too busy, and they won't take orders even before their half hour cut off. If you stop taking orders a half hour before closing, then that should be your close time, and if a customer comes in to order before the cut off time, you should take their order. Btw: if we were to eat in, it wouldn't have been a problem according to the waitress, but given that the restaurant is very small, only having 9 or so tables, and the complete lack of Covid protections, I did not feel that was an option. I would not recommend this restaurant, and we will not be returning. read more

Best Thai food around. They also have Japanese dishes. They make a curry vegan dish for me that is wonderful. My husband loves hot and sour soup and spicy Thai fried rice. Great food and good service. Very reasonable prices. read more

I have to say my husband and I were hesitant about a Thai/Chinese restaurant upN, moving from Oakland county just a year ago. But we were willing to give it a try. WOW. This place really hit the mark! We ordered steamed dumplings, hot & sour soup, a Thai dish and 2 Chinese dishes. We were very impressed w how fresh everything was and tasted amazing. We live an hour away but will def be making a monthly trip for our Thai/Chinese fix. Given there are so few good restaurants upN, we feel lucky to have found Chee Peng:) read more

Great Thai food at super affordable prices!

This place is THE best place for Thai food. Although, it may look like a hole-in-the-wall inside, the food is phenomenal. My favorite dish here is the potato curry dish with chicken. It is seasoned well and rich with flavor, but does not leave you feeling bloated or sick to your stomach like some Asian restaurants. I would also recommend the steamed dumplings! If you're considering where to eat in Oscoda, this is the place to stop! read more

NOT good from the beginning and we never got in the front door. We based our dining on the posted website hour of operation. ONLY to find that they were and are not correct... WHAT A LOSS because of this... With a group of eight we planned to dine here only to find that the place was closed until 4 PM..... We could have easily adjusted our lunch/dinner time, had we had accurate information. A huge revenue loss because of inability to maintain simple website data. YOU can t do this too often, especially this year. We went to the OFFICE Bar and Grill around the corner in Oscoda and sat at the big table and enjoyed American Food. The tab totaled near $200 that could have been in your cash register because of your failure to update posted hours on the website.... The food at the OFFICE was good and we probably will return there often. IF you cannot update or maintain the website, then delete it from existence. If I could give negative stars, I would. WORST food I have ever had for Thai or Chinese and I have been to some pretty sketchy places. Their excuse, "This is how we make it". I never knew that Pad Thai was made with rotten, leftover Thanksgiving gravy. Absolutely flavorless and smelled funky. I literally had to spit it out. Tasted rotten. Sesame chicken was a cooked sponge with no flavor at all. Egg rolls had virtually no filling and they "don't serve plum sauce". Even their fried rice was awful. It was a far cry from fried rice. It was clumpy white maggots with a few dashes of soy sauce. Their advice to us was to not order the same food next time. Uhhh... there won't be a next time and I feel I should send the health department... Only willing to give a partial refund and only made excuses for their poor quality. RUN!!! Ordered for the first time tonite. Decided on take-out which I was told 25 min to pick up. I arrived within the time frame but did not get my food until 45 min. I'm glad I ordered take-out because the restaurant is abysmally hot and humid, no climate control at all. I ordered Chicken with Broccoli, white rice, Wonton soup and egg roll. I was optimistic as there are no other places for Chinese and Thai in Oscoda. After reading all the good reviews I decided why not try it. To my dismay, I wish I hadn't. Egg rolls tasted like the cheap brand you by from the big box store. Steamed white rice was mushy. Many of the places I've ever ordered Chicken with Broccoli have two main Ingredients....Chicken and Broccoli. My meal was 50% broccoli and 40% Bamboo shoots(this was a first, never had bamboo shoots in any chicken and broccoli I've ever ordered) maybe 10% chicken. The sauce was watery, almost like a soup and did not stick to the ingredients at all, Taste was bland, Should have just called it what it was Bamboo and broccoli in chicken broth. The only redeeming item was the Wonton soup which was actually good. I'm sure they may have a few redeeming dishes that regular customers love but if they couldn't get the simple things done right such as steamed white rice or made an actual brown sauce(not soup) for the Chicken with Broccoli, I may have gave them the benefit of the doubt but I don't believe I will be ordering from there again, I'd rather drive the 20 min to Tawas. read more

Overall not bad. It's upper Michigan so you can't expect the same level as places in the suburbs of southeast MI. The interior is in desperate need of renovation but i guess works for the area. The egg drop soup is unconventional but good. The Pad Thai rice noodle I didn't care for, it's more like a thin lo mein noodle. Szechwan chicken was really good and spicey... Wow, what an incredible disappointment. I have to wonder who the people are that have given this place 5 stars! We ordered Pad Prik and Chicken Szechuan for take out. We got home and what we had wasn't the dishes I've have grown to love at other restaurants. The Szechuan was 90% onions with a watery liquid over the top that wasn't thickened at all, which it should be. The Pad Prik was supposed to be mild, but had so much crushed pepper that our lips were burning. Again, like the Szechuan, the sauce was just a colored liquid with absolutely no taste. I called the restaurant and told them about being disappointed and was told "so sorry". Well, I told them I was bringing it back and she told me that she wasn't giving me my money back. After telling her I wasn't paying for food that was awful, she told me she would give me 50% back and then slammed the phone down disconnecting me. Not professional at all! I called back and told her I was bringing it back and I wanted a total refund, she finally agreed and told me NEVER TO COME AGAIN! Let's just say I will never patronize her restaurant again and if she was located in southern Michigan, she wouldn't be in business. read more

Have heard from various other sources about how dirty this place is, and lipstick cup confirmed it. The atmosphere is lacking, as well as the service. We will never eat here again. I had the Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce which had more chicken than shrimp. My husband had the Pepper Steak which was so grisly he could not eat it.
