We were seated shortly after arriving. The waitress came to our table and took drink orders. The drinks came, then our order was taken. Then we waited and waited for our food. Finally our appetizers arrived. We ordered chips and queso, and an order of cheese fries. The chips came about 15 minutes before the cheese fries. We never got any rolls served to us. We waited for close to an hour before the rest of the food arrived. Our full order never did show up. Our waitress was a new waitress, it was only her second day. She needed help, but no one would assist her. She went twice to look for a manager for help, but the manager was not to be found. I would highly recommend not giving your business to this Cheddar's. It is the poorest managed restaurant I have ever been to. We should have known not to go in when they had a sign posted on the door saying that they didn't have any chicken tenders on a Sunday at 12:45. Steak was tender and delicious as always with a side of bourbon sauce. The red beans and rice tasted different from what I remember, it tasted overly smokey and the beans seemed undercooked. Really great service here. I came in on my own and was seated within 5 minutes. My server was Brian and he made great recommendations. I was deciding between the combo ribs and steak or combo ribs and bbq chicken. He said both were good but his personal favorite was the steak so I went with that. I don't think I've ever been inside this restaurant. I always order my food for pickup. I ordered double broccoli for my side. Today is Sunday. However, both of my broccoli bags said Friday. That's a little concerning to me. I did call and speak to the manager about it, but she didn't really have anything of say other than it wasn't used on Friday. Came in with a large group. They would not take call ahead seating or a reservation, but then witnessed they taking call ahead from others. Waited over 30 minutes even though we were 3rd on the wait list. Then found that they wanted to break our group up into two booths that were not even adjoining even though they knew we were there for a birthday party... then when we saw a large empty table we were told "that's being held for a group that asked for it specifically" and they would not budge on it even though that other group got there long after us. We were sent back to the lobby to wait while they tried to figure out a place to put us and then had to wait for enough adjoining table to leave at the same time so that they'd have enough room. The manager on duty (Heidi) did her best on damage control at that point but it was too little too late. Even after speaking to the GM after the fact, I'm done with this place. The manager when we called several days in advance was very rude and condescending about the concept of reservations or call ahead seating even though it's the norm in most restaurants. He acted like we were a fool to even think that was a possibility. If you are a small group and you don't mind waiting around to be seated, then it's still a good place to eat. If you're thinking about taking a large group out there for any kind of celebration, rethink that... because they are not interested in catering to large groups, no matter how much revenue that means for the restaurant chain. They made it clear that we are an inconvenience so we'll remove that problem and eat elsewhere. read more

Used to be great. Not today. Slowest service ever--only 20 cars including staff. Knives are not clean at the handle, everything has water spots, glasses gritty on outside. Holy crap this was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. To start it off we had to wait a hour until the waiter brought us our drinks and we got to order. They was out of a lot of things on the menu. The food was terrible and tasted old. The alcohol drink my wife ordered tasted like perfume "mule". Our waiter was super slow and smelt like body odor. And to top it off the waiter tried telling us a story when he gave us our checks about a sports team coming in to eat the day before and barley tipping. The only time you can get a table quickly is during lunch and even then, it can be packed. Every time I've tried to go for dinner, I ended up turning away because of the long wait time. But during lunch, you get a table right away. The service is really quick and the waitress was really nice. However, This is not the best place go if you're looking for meatless options. There aren't many vegetarian options on the menu. I even asked for chicken to be substituted for shrimp and they couldn't do it except for some of the entrees. I ended up getting the Alfredo pasta with shrimp. The serving size was pretty large. It was pretty good but the food could have been warmer. Their special item were the honey butter croissants. We were okay with that! Another time, I wanted to eat half of my friend's loaded baked potato and accidentally dropped it into my glass of water. The waitress didn't ask me questions but instead she calmly handed me a new glass of water. Thank you for not judging me. One of my favorite places to order a chicken fried steak. Tender and tasteful. And you can cut them with a fork. The mashed potatoes are homemade with a little bit of potatoes skins mixed in. Some may not like that but I very much enjoy it. Service is acceptable but could use a little work. This is one of my biggest complaints with restaurants and seems to be the hardest thing to achieve. Cleanliness is another but this place doesnt seem to have that issue luckily. The decor is pretty and inviting. read more

If I want a big American meal, I go here. They have a splendid collection of sides (my favorite is the broccoli and cheese casserole). The bourbon glazed salmon is wonderful, but I suggest asking for a side of the bourbon glaze to use as a dipping sauce. The steaks are also very tender. I really like the atmosphere as well (big ceiling fans, comfortable seating) and enjoy eating at the bar area, especially if you don't want to deal with screaming kids. What best summarizes my opinion on Cheddar's is: The taste is as reasonable as the price. I've never had a BAD experience with Cheddar's, but I've also never been blown away either; and really I think it's very unfair to expect a 5 star experience from a restaurant that charges an average of 10 dollars for per entree. After 30 minutes and still multiple empty tables we are told that thy are waiting on a larger table to empty or for mor wait staff to show up. It's 6:00.
