This is one of the best restaurants in Pleasant Prairie! The food is great with decent size portions unlike some other restaurants nearby. The service is superb for the most part, and the staff are very nice. And the prices aren't too bad either. Their appetizers are pretty good too, make sure to try the spinach nacho dip. Though the atmosphere can get quite loud, it doesn't get too loud. For a restaurant food chain that has an average rating of about 2.5, this Cheddars definitely defies the rest. read more

Out of all places in town to eat i always found myself coming to cheddars because their food is absolutely delicious. However the servers arent up to par. The host/hostess are always amazing but then im turned off by my server every time. I had to ask my server like 3 times for a side of sour cream and when he finally brought it to me he gave me ranch istead which lead me to having to ask a completely different server who then took serveral minutes as well. Great value for the money. Serving sizes are fairly large provide an opportunity to take home a doggie bag for a snack the next day. From salad to desset, every meal at the tablec was delicious. Drinks selection is large and each of the drinks at our table was very tasty. This location does get very busy and can be a bit noisy, but this would prevent me from coming back. Nice décor, average food, and misleading prices. The prices themselves are competitive, but I was surprised at how salads aren't part of the entrée, instead, a $3.50 addition. Tonight was my boyfriend's birthday so we wanted a special dinner.. We both never been and heard great things about the restaurant, even though it was more than 45 mins from were we live. However I must say the drive was sooo worth it!!! Service was great!The food was Great! I ordered the new Orleans pasta and my boyfriend had steak and shrimps w 2 sides. Our bill came out to 28.00 which was a lot cheaper than what we've planed on spending. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but they didn't provide staff to sing happy birthday to customers celebrating birthdays. However a chief did bring us a sample of chocolate cookies. The only down side to Cheddars is that there aren't any in Milwaukee! Nevertheless my girlfriend and I make the trip to Cheddars whenever we can. Always busy when we go, but well worth the wait. The Broccoli Cheese Casserole is so so good. Spinach Artichoke Dip is also amazing. Everything here is delicious. The Monte Cristo sounds weird when you read the description but is my favorite entrée. Cannot say enough good things about this place!! read more

I met some friends here and our order took forever to come out. Two ppl ordered the same thing and one plate was cold. The server got an attitude, the plate was sent back and the manager brought the hot one out. We were ready to leave finally and had to remind him 3 times for To-go boxes. I ordered the key west chicken and shrimp. Everything was good until I bit into a pineapple which I could immediately taste they were canned. Decent place, especially for the price, went in a Sunday evening, was told 20 mins wait, ended up waiting 45 mins, once sat (at a booth party of 2) server took just under 10 mins to greet, we ordered right away in the food came out 20 minutes later. I ordered shepherd's pie wasn't anything I'd write home to mom about but it was OK. It had been sitting for 5 to 10 minutes before it was brought to me but was still warm so I ate it my wife had the salmon and that came nice and hot portions were huge her entree cost $9, and could have fed both of us she finished half. Those mini dessert shooters are also a cool idea for 99 cents not too much dessert like every other place would offer I'll come back again. read more

The tenders were like eating a chuck of rubber worst I have had. There's been so much hype about this place, I had to check it out. Let me tell you; The food was Soooo good! I have no complaints. I recommend the steak and chicken tender meal. Make sure you try the hot and honey sauce for the tenders. The steak was seasoned and tender, you didn't need to add anything extra. All of the sides were good as well. I recommend one of the following: broccoli casserole, carrots, mash potatoes, broccoli. We ordered an appetizer and it came right out, some restaurants take forever to bring them out, the spinach dip and salsa was delicious. I wish this place was closer to my house. The only downfall for this restaurant is you have to wait about 45 mins to an hour before sitting but it's worth the wait. The only reason why I gave 4 stars because of the service. The service was great and our waitress was so nice but she was overwhelmed and swamped with so many tables that she messed up the order a couple of times. Also, once she thought we were done eating she never came to check on our table. We waited for 10-15 mins until she came near the table to ask for Togo boxes. First time here. Stopped in during lunch hour. Tried the lunch combo. Monte Cristo sandwich with house salad. Monte Cristo was very different. Not necessarily a great thing. It was a little sweet for my taste. Also, it was deep fried and still very oily. The house salad was average. I ordered blue cheese dressing with it and was given about a tablespoon in a small dish. Went a couple of weekends ago for the first time. Prices are very reasonable, but the kitchen got my order wrong. Friendly waitress, but didn't know what some of the items were indicating poor training. She tried her best. Food was ok, but not memorable. The worst thing about this place is how dark it is in there at night. I saw two tables use their phones to shed enough light on their menus. I don't understand why some people write reviews based on their personal frustration that has no relation with the restaurant. My wife and I go there once a week, and we spend time with one another enjoying the food and drinks. We were once the first individuals that came there once they opened. The host and servers seem to care more about their tips than taking care of the customers. At times we do receive amazing service from a few servers. The Cajun pasta, bake lasagna spaghetti bake, and the ribs were simply delicious!!! Even my 3 year old chicken tenders were delicious!!! Very friendly staff and excellent customer service!!! Get there before the 6pm rush! We were able to walk right in but after that the crowd became heavy and the wait list grew!!! The name is deceiving as nothing was made from "scratch ". In fact most items tasted like they were prepared early in the day and then microwaved before being served. If ZERO stars was a possibility, I would give that instead. Let me tell you about how a quick family dinner turned into a 2.5 hour prison sentence. It was a warm and cloudy Monday night. Our party arrived separately, from different directions. The first to arrive asked for a table for three. He noted that there were many people waiting and had a short wait himself before being seated at 7pm despite the restaurant being half empty. He claims that it took about 5 minutes for a wait staff member to appear and take his drink order, and another five to get the drink back to him. I arrived shortly after his drink arrived, 10 minutes passed before the waitress came back to take my drink order, although she passed several times since the person I was with pointed her out. Our other guest, coming from 40 minutes away, arrived before my drink which took about 15 minutes. Once she arrived, the service was quick, but not very polite, rather "to the point". Now let me give some background. We had not come in over a year following several bad batches of non-edible pot pie. Just because you have a scratch kitchen, does not mean that one day it can be lemon flavored and one day it is mushroom based and neither one be good. You still need to have consistency. Since the food was bad, and the service was worse, we just stopped coming because they only let you have two painkillers, not the third that you need to forget that your waitress sucked and tip her anyway. But alas, a family member from out of town, who had never heard of it, wanted to go, so we tried the weekend before V-Day. Despite seeing 8 open tables at 4:45 pm while waiting for the hostess to figure out how to work the pager system to tell me it was a 1-1.5 hour wait with the horde of hungry humans in the too-small for the crowd foyer, we decided to give it a go, before someone checked the wait at Olive Garden across the parking lot. Olive Garden told us it was a 40 minute wait, we all had a half-off glass of wine and were seated in 15 minutes. We did not regret our decision to leave, the service was great, food was awesome, wine at half price and a much shorter wait. Anyways, back to the fact that Cheddar's re-entered our view. I started remembering always wanting the spasagna, but never ordering it. Well, I decided we are probably going to keep trying to get there, and I would be able to get it. Looking at the menu... spasagna gone! New menu. Back to the chicken tenders, since they were fairly consistent. Ordered regular, with corn, broccoli cheese casserole and a bonus order of the honey croissants. Don't judge, I was counting on leftovers. The guy ordered the maple bacon sandwich with coleslaw, and the other gal ordered the chicken fried steak with green beans and corn. The waitress came by twice between ordering and our food arriving, but once was probably only because someone else brought a drink for our table. Iced tea refills took 10+ minutes to arrive. I get it, you are "busy" with your half empty restaurant, but holy geez! It took an hour for food to arrive. The two that I was with, their order was correct. I got coleslaw instead of casserole, when I pointed it out, I was told "you said coleslaw, but I can change it." I also had no croissants, which used to come out before the meal, but that was fine. I was half done with my food before the bread and casserole arrived. It was simply dropped onto the table while she walked by, two of us had empty glasses and had no opportunity for talking with the waitress (they would remain that way). The sandwich was small, gone in about 5 minutes, but since my order was messed up, they had an extra helping of coleslaw and was thus appeased. The chicken fried steak was hilarious. We didn't know that meat shrunk so much. The breading was so thick, and mushy, that it was not eaten, rather, the meat itself was eaten only, even through it had shrunken to half the size of the breading that surrounded it. When we were finished, she asked if we would like dessert, we said no, and she left us our checks. We already had card and money in hand, but she waked away. During this time, we saw that the drinks were on the wrong check. We were going to get it corrected, but it took so long for her to come back, that one of us just paid the other the difference instead. When she ran the card, and brought it back to sign, she dropped it and left. The pen refused to write. I didn't have one, so we were waiting and waiting. The one gal had cash, and needed change. Waiting nearly 20 minutes. We had our coats on at this point, keys in hand, standing at our table looking for our waitress. We decided to cash out at the bar and leave. I got to the car, remembered that I didn't sign the receipt. Grabbed a pen from the car and went back in. I said I didn't sign it since the pen didn't work, and she kept disappearing. She said, its over there, and I never disappeared. I should have removed the tip, and will watch for fraud. Horrid! read more

It was so bad I never actually received my food, giving up after 35 minutes and having a server say "your food will be right out" three times. Very disappointed with Chedder's in Pleasant Prairie, WI! They did away with their Fish Tacos, (which was basically the only item we ever order there because we love it) the service was poor, and they ran out of black beans. How do they run out of black beans when it's in half their food? We must have went through 3 different menu items with the waitress before they had food that we wanted. The manager came out to talk to us after we complained to the waitress and she basically told us to deal with it or go somewhere else. Yum! Cheddar's is a great place to go out to eat at. The atmosphere is very nice and calming. I ordered "Baked Spasagna" which is under the "Favorites" category of the menu! This item is my FAVORITE! We also ordered their homemade chips and queso which was very good as well! It is a hopping place to go, so the earlier you go the better. (No reservations). Omg....the drinks here are on point!! Try a Painkiller.....is so good!!! Food here is o.k.....now I know they have better food here and I have yet to try it all. The one thing I ordered was the chicken tenders....I am not usually a crazy fan of boneless wings but I ordered these for.my daughter, and they were the best tasting chicken tenders I ever had!!! They have a chicken fried steak that is real good too. Love the atmosphere here, the servers are quick with your drinks, food and most importantly most of them have a smile....which I find lacking in a lot of restaurants. Th e severs here make you feel more relaxed and you wanna come back......oh and I have been back a few times!!!
