This spot was very packed on Saturday night, which I expected. What I did not expect was for them not to have a paging system in place to let you know when your table is ready. There was no waiting room inside and a lot of people waiting outside and a lot of people waited in cars, and they didn't have a way for us to know when our table was ready but only for us to keep going inside every 20 min to see where our place in line was... ridiculous. Our waitress was very nice. Our drinks were good... the food wasn't that good like how I'm used to Cheddars food tasting. The shrimp in the New Orleans pasta tasted over cooked. I am not one to write reviews, but this was literally some of the best food I have ever had. I have never had a better steak, even when comparing it to Longhorn or Outback. The cheese bites were amazing, and the hot fudge cake sundae was perfect. Our server was kind and was always checking in on us. We never ran out of water and always got whatever sauces we needed. Our honey butter croissants were not warm which was a little sad, but they still fell apart in my mouth and tasted good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really cool, and we all liked the lighting. Definitely coming back. I'd give it a 9.8/10. Thanks for a great night! read more

Cheddar's is a great place to take out-of-town guests to a local Pensacola restaurant for a lasting impression of "your money's worth portion size," and great Southern cooking like grandmother used to make. Our waitress was a homey girl who knew her menu well, and what dishes would satisfy the curious mind and empty stomach. We tipped her well at 20% each the four of us, we'll worth it. Normally love this place. My brother sent back an order 3 times and asked to speak to the manager (Ryland.) He ordered steak medium, and was raw 2 times after sending back. I was surprised to see the manager did not come up in any polite acknowledgment. My brother was very polite but direct about the steps on what the issue with the order was, and that it did not meet food safety regulations So he requested after the 3rd time that he didn't want it anymore. Ryland responded rudely "we do not put the steak on the grill we put it back in a convection oven" As food safety management ourselves, we know that it is health code violation to take food back when it's been served and cut into with a customers used utensils. However, Ryland responded with a very rude "Whatever you guys say" He didn't apologize and he very rudely walked away while spelling his name out letter by letter when asked his name I believe the leadership quality and hospitality should definitely be reconsidered. The waitress, was okay she was very nice but dissappeared very quickly. She did have good customer service and was apologetic to try and fix the issues after the second time being sent back. We were told my brother would not be charged for anything he ordered After paying, the manager yelled at all of us stating we had to pay for my brothers meal after we were told otherwise, and followed us to our vehicle over a $1 payment and was going to take our license number to call the police. My husband paid the dollar, but this was very poor service. We are extremely disappointed and never had an experience like this before. read more

Usually my favorite restaurant to go to for chicken tenders and steak, and that's it. I ventured off my normal dinner and got the Dijon chicken. It was literally just a chicken breast with honey mustard sauce, not really what was described. Wasn't very good. Food used to be a lot cheaper as their slogan says, but prices have gone up. I manage to go here at least 2-3 times a month and am NEVER disappointed by food or service! Ok, it's Longhorn's little sister and I love Longhorn too but Cheddar's has nailed what they serve, which is a creative American cuisine with a Texas flare. The salmon is exceptional, steaks great, salads very fresh and crunchy, soup....especially the baked potato soup (for me) is hearty and tasty. It can be a bit of a wait but normally not more than 15 mins. Hostesses are friendly and efficient and servers quick, attentive and accurate! I like the layout with small sections, which minimizes noise in this very large restaurant. If I have a favorite it must be either the salmon Caesar pasta salad or the chicken tenders or, or, or.... Prices are moderate and servings generous. The signature starter of complimentary iced croissants is wonderful and just enough to make waiting for food pleasant! read more

First of all I was stuck between 2 stars and three. The food is ok but the service has been going down hill fast. This is a chain restaurant so the food is standardized. It's suppose to be home cooking, but it's a little better than that. Service has been going down hill. Mom and I arrived at the restaurant around 3pm. After we ordered, it took them 19 minutes for them to serve the food. The restaurant is clean and the noise level is usually low. Ordered to go food, absolutely disgusting. Cold shrimp and the Monte Cristo was laying in a puddle of its own cold grease, sadly tossed in the corner of a to go box. When you picked it up you could see the grease pool around your fingers. I called to inform them of how terrible it was. They offered a refund on the items that were inedible...still charged me for the spinach dip which was somewhat edible...but I never got the refund. So they basically lied on top of everything else. My usual spot in Pensacola was closing so hubby and I decide to pop in to Cheddar's. While I don't like to frequent chains, I really enjoyed every thing from beginning to end. The restaurant has a great vibe, beautiful decor and very large booths. It was cozy. Our amazing waitress was Elizabeth. She has been with Cheddar's for 6 years and I cannot say enough incredible things about her, but I'll try. I ordered the ribs/tenders with 2 sides green beans and baby carrots. Hubs ordered the whitefish with double mash and Elizabeth helped him create loaded mash potatoes. He added sour cream, cheese, and bacon. I got the honey hot chicken tenders as an appetizer, I was hungry and not sure if there would be a long wait for our entree. The Honey hot was 4 tenders and Elizabeth suggested tossing in the sauce (instead of one the side) and they were delicious. The portion was huge, the sauce was very, very, very good. When our entrees arrived, I was practically full. Hubby wanted catfish, (MS man) but he throughly enjoyed the white fish. It was cooked well and tasted great. We asked Elizabeth for some honey hot for the fish and he was super excited! It was really good. He's usually clears his place and mine but not today. He had enough fish to share, twice. My baby back ribs/tenders were great. The ribs were tender and Elizabeth brought me extra sauce. Huge portions. Can you believe this man wanted dessert? He got the cookie sundae and it was good but I was stuffed. Hubby didh't leave any behind. Elizabeth brought our Togo containers and even, without asking, brought Togo sauces and tea. The lunch combos are very well priced, and l enjoyed my half Monte Cristo and half Cheddar Club. Each half would have been plenty for the average eater with a side of soup or salad. I ate in the bar area, and Richard was quick to get me a beverage, take my order and make sure l had everything needed to enjoy my meal. Top service! My husband and I ate at this restaurant on 2/18. It was a busy night and the greeter told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We were happy when we only had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Our server was very pleasant and provided excellent service. My husband had chicken pot pie; I had the Cajun pasta with sausage, chicken, and shrimp. They both were good. We each had the house salad and croissants. My only negative note is that the Women's restroom had no paper towels or dryer to dry my hands so I had to resort to using toilet paper. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken entree with a side Ceasar, rice & steamed broccoli. I also ordered the croissants with cinnamon honey butter. I ordered a Texas Ice tea which is a Arnold Palmer with vodka. (More or less) It was tasty..... The entree overall was very good. Chicken was grilled perfectly & had a really nice fresh savory Lemon pepper marinade. Rice was seasoned lightly, light in texture & fluffy. Broccoli was fresh & steamed perfectly. I completed the meal with a shot glass hot fudge cake & mousse which was delicious & a perfect size. The Bill was around $16- which is extremely reasonable given the overall quality of the food & dining experience. I really enjoyed my visit here. I found everything about Cheddar's to be very good. I absolutely love this place, the only thing I would change about this locating is; you can tell that the waitress and waiters had issues with each other. It wasn't hard to notice, I've worked in the restaurant industry for years so I know! Our waitress was so nice and patient but you can tell that her coworkers didn't really like her very much. Anyways, the food was amazing as always, even through this pandemic! We didn't didn't have to wait long to get our food even though the place did have a lot of people in there. Everyone was six feet apart and being respectful towards everyone else so we had no worries. Terrible, won't be back! The meal started with no flexibility for substitutions, even when the substitution would have benefitted the restaurant monetarily. The server was new and tried her best to make up for the many errors from the kitchen. The server consulted the manager several times. The manager never came and spoke with us. The manager told the server that our check would have deductions due to the kitchen error/bad food. Apparently we were actually overcharged but at that point, I just wanted to pay the check and leave. Again, the server tried to fix things and again, the manager did nothing. Food specifics - good: chicken fingers were very good as well as the broccoli cheese side dish, bad: Dijon chicken and mushrooms. Didn't want yo wait 30+ minutes at Bubbas so reluctantly went to Cheddars. This was the third time that I've eaten there. Will NOT be back! Last time I had a steak that was more fat and gristle than meat. This time the wife and I ordered the Spinach dip and two Monte Cristo sandwiches with fries. We waited about 15 minutes and I had no more than said "I hope the dip doesn't come out with the sandwiches" than the server brought our sandwiches. I then said to her I guess the dip isn't gonna make it. She looked like a deer in the headlights...."oh your dip never came out?" Don't know if she expected another server to bring it or if it was supposed to come out on its own. Told her to take it off the bill as we didn't want it. Picked up my sandwich and while I know it's a deep fried sandwich I don't expect it yo be saturated dough! All of my fingers had oil/grease on them from just picking the sandwich up. It tasted like very old oil as well. Couldn't taste the meat and cheeses. So I ate just the innards and the fries. When we asked for the check the dip still hadn't been taken off the bill. Today's visit include two rude hostesses, a bug in my wife's Chicken Caesar Salad, and overcooked/dry spinach and artichoke dip. He came by multiple times, got us new drinks when we were low, and recommended the limited -time Chicken and Waffles, which were the best I've ever had. No need for syrup, the waffle dough was sweet and full, unlike the wimpy and doughy ones at other places. The chicken was delicious and gristle-free. The croissants are their signature, they came out a little cool, but they were very good. The country fried steak was delicious, the breading was amazing, and the gravy was very good.
