During my recent trip to Arkansas my Uncle and Aunt treated me to lunch at Cheddar's. You can't beat free right? So I was already excited for that yet I still didn't anticipate much from a relatively fast casual restaurant. But, I was pleasantly surprised. For the appetizer, we had the spinach dip with chips. Despite being lukewarm it was still pretty tasty. But, it was my main dish that was the winner of the day. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta that came with a side of Texas Toast. It was soooo good. Even though I probably should have had self-control, I kept eating. AND, I still had enough left for a second meal. I love a good sized portion. The icing on the cake was the croissant bread. It had some sort of decadent glaze that made it almost seem like dessert. My mouth is watering at the thought. I was too full for dessert so if you survive your meal and have room, let me know how it is. Looking forward to going back and trying another dish. read more

I always order online, park in a pick up space. On two occasions I had to come in and used the bathroom, and as I walked down the hallway I noticed it was very slippery so I stepped to the side on the carpet area, told a server ..Yo ! this floor is SLIPPERY! She stated be careful someone fell yesterday! I used the walls sidings to lead me right back to my car! I CANNOT AFFORD TO FALL!!! Made an Online order the other day the exact same thing happened, However, It was very urgent that I use the bathroom so I took little teeny bitty steps and was holding the walls as my life depended on it, so I made it inside the stall, on my way out, I saw a manager standing there, and I told him, will you guys please consider putting a mat or something down to keep people from falling because I almost fell! 2nd try at this restaurant-Grandson's choice. Never again. Atmosphere Staff Service all good. But food - quality lacking! Grandson liked his grilled salmon, not so much the New Carrot Cake they touted over his chocolate favorite. Grandmother's penne pasta with grilled shrimp was good. But ... Grandfather - who paid the bill - had steak & shrimp - his steak was Wretched!!! Cooked rare as requested yes but so tough and chewy, grandson even spit out the bite he tasted. Obviously a very cheap cut of meat. If Cheddar's is going to offer a steak should at least offer meat that is chewable! And no he didn't complain-it certainly was not staff's fault if mgmt. is too cheap to offer a decent cut of steak. Was not impressed. The service was awful, waited a very long time for appetizer, drink refills, and food. Our waitress was also the bartender. Not very personable. We had to ask for our appetizer since it had been so long, and it was just chips and queso. My daughter's chicken sandwich was very bland, she didn't eat very much of it. My other daughter had the chicken pot pie and it was good, as well as my husband's burger. I had the fish and chips, and while the fish was thinner than I expected it was flavorful. Where to start.. So, this will be the second time I've been to the Little Rock Cheddar's in the past month and both visits were as equally bad as the other. Let me start by saying I love going to Cheddar's the food and drinks are always great. It has been one of my favorite restaurants for a while and I'm quite surprised by this location. I'll be sharing both experiences. 1st Visit: we were seated right away, but our table waited more than 20 minutes for someone to even greet us. Not only did our server have an awful attitude they were very inattentive. After Ordering our drinks and appetizer first, we waited for another 15-20 minutes for the appetizer to come before the drinks. Just wasn't the best experience I've had.. 2nd Visit: We we're seated promptly, our server this time seemed nice but also rushed. We made sure to tell them that we are familiar with restaurant work and how that can be sometimes, so we cut them some slack at first. We got our drinks and appetizer pretty quickly. After ordering our entrées we waited for more than 20 minutes for them to arrive, which was fine considering we had order steak and fish. But when the food arrived at the table, I had received the wrong order completely. Our server then ordered the correct food and I had waited an additional 20 minutes for my meal. Not only did I have to wait, it also came out with the wrong sides. At that point I was beyond upset with the service and had to walk out. I didn't even want to eat anymore after having to watch the rest of my table eat without me. I just wanted to cancel the order, pay for what we got, and get out of there. We ended up getting the correct food to go. I feel like this could have been avoided if the server would have taken a few seconds to slow down and just read our order back to us. Would give NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD. My family of four went to dinner tonight for our sons 4th birthday. Parking lot was empty (and now I understand why). Not only we were greeted SUPER unwelcoming at the front door; we hadn't even made it in the door yet when the hostess hollers 'um yeah, the wait is 5-10 or more minutes' to which I responded the name of our party and asked her what she meant by '5-10 or more minutes' and she says 'I mean...not like an hour'. We wait to be greeted by our server, poor girl had the entire bar section to herself it seemed so that's about five to six tables to alone. Meanwhile I noticed the manager kinda standing around, 'observing' his employees I guess. We order our food...the cheese dip appetizer was COLD. Legit FILM on top. My toddler stirred it up and 'enjoyed' what he could. Us, parents, did not eat it. I ordered a sirloin and shrimp combo, son ordered their 'Alfredo pasta', daughter ordered grilled chicken and husband ordered some sort of chicken they had on special. It seemed everything we asked for..they were 'out of' so we had to pick other things. anyway; I asked for medium rare steak and everything else was pretty cut and dry on the menu. While waiting for the food, which was taking an awfully long time, I decided to order an alcoholic beverage. I wanted the drink they were advertising and she told me they were out and would have more in the morning.....okay....so I opt for a different drink, a margarita on the rocks. Y'all.....there was NO alcohol in this drink. So by this time; our server has already told us the food should be out soon because 'it's BEEN SITTING A WHILE, they are just waiting to SEE if my steak is done'......okay.....so she brings the food out, everything was cold. My steak was RAW. I wish so bad I would've taken a photo of it because the manager (MATT) had the audacity to argue with me about how they cook the food and make their drinks etc. I politely asked him to remove the raw meat from the table, I would gladly pay for the 'steak' but was sick to my stomach after seeing what I cut into. Instead of him trying to make things right....he ARGUED with me! Rested his arm on the booth over my son and I (gross), Told me alllll the things I should know about his job. Told me he sells over 200 of these premixed margaritas a day so he knows there's tons of alcohol in there. Told me they let the entire order sit until everything is finished then bring to the table-which I UNDERSTAND but if that's the case, cook the steak first, put a meat thermometer in it to check if it's done and just be more logical about it??? (server told me the pasta had been sitting for at least 15 mins while everything else was being prepared...see photo of dry, crunchy pasta) Our server was great. I won't put her name here but I will say she said she didn't agree with how they do things there. I pray she finds a better job. When we decided to just be done with this 'meal', I looked all over for the manger and he was nowhere in sight. I picked up my two year old and went to go find him, standing there...SO, After speaking to the manager again, he still did not offer to make anything right and told me 'he actually never has anyone complain' which I find to be....not true after reading the ratings on this joint. To the 'manager', matt, I hope this review finds you well and I hope you find a job that better suits you and your attitude. You work at cheddars, not Louis Vuitton. I will also be reaching out to your general manager, Larry Trimmel. I am a business woman and what I witnessed tonight was FAR FROM BUSINESS. Then when our drinks were empty, we waited endlessly for refills. I finally flagged a manager down and he filled them. Tables all around us had similar issues. I heard one man say that our waitress had no business waiting tables and he was right. He told her three times he wanted coke and she kept saying Diet Coke. When the food came--after almost 40 minutes, I was enjoying the awesome coleslaw when I found a hair. I informed the manager and he offered me a 10% discount. Is that the going rate for bad service and a hair?? We placed a to go order which created even more confusion.....and after another 30 minutes waiting for that I flagged the manager down so he could process our check so we would be free to leave once the to go order was ready. I have managed food establishments at a single and multi unit level and the root of all these issues except the hair was the waitress. I have been to this location several times with coworkers as I was today. There were 3 of us all wanting separate checks. Not a big deal they know how to handle separate checks. We are all signed up on their discount app and part of the reason that we go is for the discount. 2 out of 3 off us wanted to use our discount coupon. The server stopped us in our track and said only one of us can use it that it was the managers new policy. On a previous visit we were told that we could all use the coupon but that we all had to have it on our phone. She said ummm NO. And we said get the manager. The manager Steve returned in a few min and said Nope you can't do that. Only one coupon for table. This was contradictory to what we were told before. He was condescending and my friend told him that he was. He shrugged his shoulders and didn't care. Was a total jerk. We all informed him that we would not be back. He didn't seem to care at all. I love their onion rings and usually get them to go about once a month. But, I've decided I am done. The last time, I got an appetizer sampler and an order of onion rings. Cheddar's was well-known to me for budget dining experience. I decided to try. I ordered a 12 oz steak and Order of Veggie plates which gives you the option of choosing a variety of side dishes. It was all horrific. The steak was 30~40% fat. I was appalled, but by that time, my expectations had been lowered by the bland and water-tasting salad they brought out as appetizer. Everything was greasy and buttery, yet so tasteless. If that's something you like, I recommend this place because it's cheap and frankly it's nice in the inside. TL;DR Review: Food doesn't taste bad, but eating here will give you a high probability of becoming sick. I've had the Spagagna and the chicken fried steak and both were great. My wife adores their mango shrimp and tilapia (and will go there again to get it despite the rest of this unfortunate review). The garlic bread isn't very good, but comes with just about everything. Whatever. There is something rotten in the state of the kitchen. My wife and I BOTH know people who don't know each other who have separately been manager at this restaurant, and BOTH of them quit in disgust and anger, posting pictures of the kitchen and citing poor corporate policy as reasons for their departure. My brother refuses to eat at this restaurant because he's been there three times and each time got sick afterward. The third time he ate at Cheddar's, he was there with two coworkers who both ALSO became ill. I seem to get sick about every third visit. As I walked through the door, I saw tables full of people which made me very excited. A lot of people meant that they were busy and I knew then that my good would be good. Sadly I was terribly mistaken. After we were seated, it took someone over 15 minutes to come and get our drinks. She was so overwhelmed that she took our entire order upon first greeting us. We placed our order and the waiting game begun. After another 10 minutes I got happy because my food was here, yet we still had no drinks. We began to eat and the same person who brought our food (not our server) asked us where our drinks was and he went to go get us some. Our server was definitely trying her best, and I'm honestly not mad at her but this experience was terrible. She was only bringing us what they gave her, and in top of that she had tables that were upset with her because of the kitchens mistakes. As a customer you should never be able to tell that the management is bad, however while waiting we physically saw the manager act nonchalant with another customer about the same issues we were having. Upon entering Cheddars, I got this dirty look from a server who was exiting. The host was nice, asked us how we were, and sat us down. This was about 4 in the afternoon, and not busy. We weren't attended to for 15 minutes, so we got up and left. My initial impression is that this establishment is not very service oriented. I guess I would recommend getting new staff. read more

We were pleasantly surprised to be seated after about 15 minutes of wait time. After that quick seating, everything else seemed to take forever...drinks, food and the check all took forever to arrive. Moved to LR a year ago and only recently tried Cheddars. Since that date, I've been here three additional times. I enjoy the menu variety and the meal choices. Quality of meals was surprisingly very good! Nice portions. Service was fine. My wife really enjoys the Grilled Whitefish, and again, she needed a To-Go box as the portions were generous. I enjoy the chicken and shrimp, with a nice choice of sides. I've also tried the varied chicken salads, always good! We treat ourselves to the warm croissants for appetizers...yum! Lastly, Cheddars was open on Christmas Eve and was a great place to take our son who flew into town from college. Thank you to the Cheddar employees for serving on Christmas Eve, we appreciate you!
