I have made my last trip to Cheddars on Kingston Pike. I had steak and shrimp and if I had known that their S&S amounted to 4 shrimp and a steak that was rather small I would of just got a salad. I have had hamburgers bigger than that steak It is what I would call a breakfast steak that would go with eggs and hashbrowns. The baked potato was warm and would not melt the butter. When I requested another potato they took the one on my plate back to the kitchen as if to prove if I was telling the truth. How insulting! Service was mediocre at best. Most restaurants start to fill up around 6 PM but they were barely busy. So 3 hours after eating an expensive meal I am now getting ready to eat a Hamburger so as not to be hungry all night. read more

We came to Cheddar's for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. The hostess was efficient and friendly on a busy night. Our server was somewhat knowledgeable of the menu but I suppose out taste buds just don't jive. This was our first visit to a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen so we asked him for recommendations. Based on those recommendations, my husband ordered the Spasangna and I ordered the ribeye. Our kids ordered the chicken fingers and the pasta off the kids menu. Though the portion was good, the Spasangna was flavorless. The Ribeye was thin and lacked flavor, as well. It was completely overdone from the medium rare I requested, partly due to the thinness of the cut. The manger was quick to rectify the temperature of the meat. My son loved his chicken fingers and my daughter was happy with her pasta. The best thing about the meal was my son's chicken fingers. They were tender and flavorful with adequate breading. Honestly Cheddar's never fails to disappoint. I've been to a couple locations around the state and this one is still pretty dang good. Extremely reasonable prices with huge portions - especially the lunch combos that will leave you full and satisfied. The buffalo chicken wrap and chicken quesadilla were incredible! Always one of my favorites at any Cheddar's. The monte cristo was very sweet with a lot of batter at the end so I wouldn't get it again. Butter croissants are to die for - seriously they pour this sauce on it that makes it so sweet and indulgent. totally worth the $3 for 4 croissants. The potato soup is delicious - totally makes you feel full before the actual entree comes out. $40 worth of food (lunchtime) fed 3 adults and 2 children with 2 full to-go boxes leftover. Our waiter was also extremely nice and accommodating!! wish I had gotten his name yesterday during lunch. seriously one of the best service I've ever seen at any restaurant. read more

We used to eat here quite a bit. The food was good and the service was almost always friendly. I don't know what changed but it certainly was not for the better. The service is slow even when it's not busy. The last time we went, my daughter and I shared the fried chicken dinner and I had to send it back. It wasn't just room temperature, it was cold. The mashed potatoes and gravy were cold too. They redid it but by the time we got our food everyone else had already finished theirs. At least one of us has gotten sick after eating here the past few times too. They have lost us as a regular customer. read more

I just had to introduce my out of town coworkers to what is undeniably THE BEST spinach dip- The Cheddars Santa Fe Spinach dip. The cheese, spinach and sour cream all combine for perfection. Fresh chips and salsa to go with it and under $5. You better believe it! I chose the baked Spasagna for my Main course. Simply amazing! Spaghetti and Lasagna baked together with cheese and covered in a tasty meat sauce. Out of this world!! We were seated quickly with appetizer and main courses coming out in record time. This restaurant is fine but nothing special. The prices are low, and the portions are huge. That's why most people I know like it. You will almost always have leftovers for later, or if you're really hungry, you're set. I've had the chicken fingers, which were good. I didn't like the honey mustard or the ranch, both things I thought are hard to mess up. Oh well. The servers are alway SUPER nice, which is probably my favorite part. Overall, you'll like it, but it's nothing to write home about. read more

This is our favorite Cheddar's by far. They are always busy, however the service and food are always good. Their chips and queso are so yummy and we usually always get it. Their spinach dip is also very good. They have something for everyone from salads, burgers, sandwiches, and steaks. My favorite thing to get is their strip steak with the bacon bourbon sauce. Honestly I could eat that sauce on everything, its amazing! They also have a good selection on desserts, my favorite is the caramel apple pie a la mode. read more

The queso for an appetizer was delicious, but the steak I got was overcooked, over seasoned, and underwhelming for what I was hoping to be a dependable dish. The raspberry Margarita was solid, but the server was distracted and forgot the sugar rim, and questioned a member of my party who was not satisfied with the cook on their steak. Seriously so glad I found this gem here. We have this restaurant in Texas and I L-O-V-E it! This restaurant is always my go to if I want to have a nice lunch or dinner. They have awesome ribs and steaks. New Orleans pasta is great too. And my favorite sides are the broccoli cheese casserole and sweet corn. But in all honesty, you HAVE to try to buttered croissants. I came here for a little work lunch with my boss and her young son on Friday. My first impression? BUSY for the time of day (2 pm or so). After making contact with our waiter and ordering, it took a good 30 minutes for our food to come out, and when it did, mine was incorrect. I had ordered my salad without cheese, and this was clearly not communicated. To his credit, the waiter DID notice this. He brought back the correct order after another 5 minutes or so. I suppose it was handled well, but it was uncomfortable to have to wait on ONLY my order while my boss's food was getting cold in front of her. All in all, in terms of quality, I was really disappointed in the food. I had the bbq chicken salad, and it was...confusing. Now, granted, I exchanged the bbq ranch for a vinaigrette, but I wasn't expecting the dressing to be the ONLY part of it that made it a "bbq chicken salad." Most good ones have grilled bbq chicken on top. This one was covered in sliced deli chicken, like I would use to make a sandwich. So strange. All in all, maybe I'll be back. I have been going here since they opened and always liked it. Today I went for lunch, and was first told they were out of their carrots (which I love) so I was disappointed, and not sure how they would be out having just opened for the day. Our lunch took forever to arrive at our table and when it did my salmon was two very thin slices of dry salmon without my requested bourbon glaze and my broccoli was still in the plastic baggie on my plate which they clearly microwaved it in. They came by a few minutes later with the bourbon glaze in a separate cup. I am very disappointed and would love to know what the heck happened to this place! read more

Pretty gross, steak was bad but its only 9 dollars so whatever but pasta was utterly disgusting. The only thing they had that was mediocre was the appetizers. I highly recommend that you DO NOT eat here. Sprite had no syrup even though the waitress told us they got a complaint yesterday (but still did not fix it?) damn now that i think about it the fries did not even have any seasoning. Nice food, great service and great ambience. I had chicken Alfredo, and it was very well. A little light ok the Alfredo sauce, but overall, I didn't miss the lack of sauce. Our server, Ross was great, prompt and courteous. The ambience is very warm, and inviting. Ample parking in front of the restaurant. The fish tank is awesome. Our family friends came here, and there were a lot of us. Maybe like 15. It took half an hour to even get a table. Once we got the table we ordered drinks and it took almost an hour for it to come. People who came after us were already done by the time we got our food. It took an hour to get our food, and it wasn't even that good. It wasn't warm, there was no seasoning, and it just tasted average. When the food came they forgot all the sides. We had to ask the server to get our sides twice, and that just made the wait even longer. I was already tired once I got my food. This place is horrible! I will not come here ever again. I have never heard of "Cheddar's" came here with my date, and it was pretty darn fantastic! As you walk in you see these really cool fans blowing up and down and a large salt water fish tank above the bar. Definitely a very chic and hip atmosphere. Sat down and our server was Spencer (I think), he was extremely friendly. But a bit slow.. he definitely tried really hard, but I think he just wasn't very experienced. But I his hospitality surpassed the slow experience. The menu is CHEAP. Given the atmosphere, I was expecting meals in the $12 - $16 range. But it was actually moreso in the $8 - $14 range, the portions are HUGE! I actually ordered the chicken fingers and shared an appetizer with my date. We couldn't even finish, we had to take it to-go. I have been to this Cheddar's restaurant many times, but tonight our service was horrible!!!! We were there on Wednesday night about 7pm. We got seated fairly quickly, but we were not greeted by a server. More than 10 minutes passed and I hailed down another server and asked her if she knew who our server was. She said she would check. Then I realized it was not her job, but a job for the manager. So, I went to find the manager (duh, I guess he was walking the floor, but in 10 minutes had not noticed our table was not serviced). Anyway I told him we had not been greeted by our server for more than 10 minutes. He apologized and came over to offer us a free appetizer! I came to eat and PAY FOR my own food!! I didn't want a "free" anything!!! All I wanted (and expected) was good service. Done with this Cheddar's location. Overall very poor service and our waitress was horrible!!! read more

My fiancé and I are visiting my grandparents in Knoxville. Typically, my grandparents will take me to Buddy's BBQ as it is one of their favorite restaurants of the three or four restaurants at which they will eat. I travel a lot and lived in NYC for two years so I have eaten at more restaurants than I could ever remember, but today was a special day. Today, we ate at Cheddar's. Upon entering the establishment, I was delighted by the aquarium by the bar and immediately started taking portraits of the fish. There were several fish that posed behind the glass for me; I hope those fish got a portion of the tip we left. We were seated in a huge booth which was freakin awesome because I have a chronic malfunction that causes me to need to sit cross-legged in every seat. The service was efficient and the servers were very friendly. In fact, the manager even stopped by to ask how our food was at one point. There was a plant right above our table and my grandmother commented on how healthy it looked. I ordered the grilled salmon with the cheese & broccoli casserole & broccoli as my two sides. I was grateful that the server didn't tease me for my seemingly uncontrollable broccoli addiction. I was very pleased with my meal. My fiancé loved his chicken pot pie & my grandfather also loved his blackened salmon. My grandmother ordered the shepherds pie and she found it to be delicious, albeit a bit too big a serving for just one person. All in all, it was a lovely experience eating at Cheddar's. One of the hostesses even complimented me on my shorts, so I left feeling full of yummy food as well as confident about my outfit. We will definitely be back. read more

Went a couple weeks ago for lunch and had a wonderful time. We asked to sit in in the little side room to the left of the door as you walk in. Wanted to sit-in the last booth because we knew it was nice and quiet. Today got there and asked for the same. Female hostess said we could sit in that area but not that last two rows closest to the front door like before. We were told there was no server working that booth. We had to sit in a booth in that room right next to the server station. Not a quiet place to sit. I failed to see why some server couldn't walk 4 more steps to serve the booth we wanted. After we were seated several parties were seated "where they didn't have a server" within minutes of us being seated. Really? Food was excellent but never got a refill on our drinks and had to ask for the the croissants after our food came.It would be nice if there was consistency with the hostess and servers. read more
