Tuesday, 9-22-3026: My husband had been eying this eatery for a while. I had never heard of it. They began in TX but we never tried it when we visited TX earlier in the year. There are none in CA. Fortunately, they have a few in TN and this is located in Knoxville. The interior was tastefully decorated with pumpkins and Autumn harvest foliage. Nice architectural details like the coffered ceilings and rich, dark woodwork throughout. We arrived a little later in the afternoon and we were famished. There was no wait and we were seated right away. It's a casual but classy ambiance. Brooklyn was our very lovely & sweet server, who provided us with excellent customer service. She brought over honey buttered croissants that were fresh baked, flaky, & scrumptious! Upon Brooklyn's recommendation we ordered a delectable appetizer of cheese bites. It was so good! She was spot on! My husband had a hankering for some chicken fried steak while I ordered the grilled white fish over buttery rice with green beans & corn. Our meals were beyond delicious! Hubby's chicken fried steak reminded him so much of his mom's home cooking he almost cried! My fish was so tender & grilled to perfection! My buttered veggies were fresh and tasted great! Those glazed croissants .... They give you when you first sit down are amazing as always. Service was attentive and with a smile The menu always features of our variety of items to suit everyone taste... well lunch special prices that are great values!! I had the Monte Cristo and it was perfect! Great place with good food and good prices. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the booth seat seams were in need of some cleaning... too many crumbs and didn't want to sit on them! There for some time as I tried to scrap them away. Food was a little less than good. This was not my first visit to this location. I have never had issues before but this was less than pleasant. I ordered fish and chips menu said this was a new item so I thought I would try it. So I ordered fish and chips and could get one side dish so I ordered a caesar salad. The waitress said I could pick another side. I thought the chips would have been the first side but apparently not. We ordered chicken tenders from the children's menu. I received the Caesar salad and we were waiting for the rest of our food.I finished my salad and the rest of our order still hadn't arrived. I told my niece they must have had to go catch the fish (she ordered salmon). The order started coming out so we started cutting the chicken tenders from the kids meal and the first piece was not chicken it was fish so we put it on my plate and let the waitress know we got a piece of fish instead of a piece of chicken and that's when everything started going down hill. I guess we were supposed to set the piece of fish to the side because she wanted to know where it was. After explaining a second time she brought the chicken tender. When we started eating the waitress came back by and asked how everything was. We all replied ok. There were 3 adults and a child in our group. Just after she walked away I realized I didn't receive my fries, before she came back by a floor manager stopped and asked how our meals were. We told her about one of the chicken tenders was a piece of fish and that I didn't get my fries. She offered to get me the fries but I was getting full so I said no. The waitress came back to the table and started asking what had happened which the floor manager had already told her. She said she ASSumed I didn't want the fries but the salad and that is why she said I had another side. I had already closed the menu and thought maybe it came with 2 sides but it didn't. I'm not sure how many people order fish and chips and don't want the fries because if that were the case they could have ordered the white fish meal that was above the fish and chips. Anyway she continued to discuss the order, never offered an apology or anything. This person should not work with the public she has a chip(not a fry) on her shoulder which doesn't go well in the hospitality industry. We asked for a to go box and she never returned to the table but quickly brought one to the table across from us who had requested one after we did. I think the waitress needs to be let go and probably the floor manager too because she didn't help the situation! read more

Wr came on Sunday before the church rush around noon. Our waitress Bailey greeted us and took our drink order and brought us their fantastic croissants which would prove to be the best part of the meal. My wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the fish and shrimp meal. So the meals came out and they were good but they were off. It seems everything that went into the fryer ( fish, shrimp and fries were just not cooked enough or oil wasn't hot enough. The fish were undercooked and the fries were the same no crunch and not cooked through. Now let me say Bailey was great and the manager even came by twice to ask how everything was. We had opportunities to send it all back but for me to send something back it has to be awful and it didn't cross that threshold. Having said that I paid the bill and even tipped Bailey nicely but won't be going back anytime soon and if and when I do I won't be ordering anything fried. read more

The hostess sat us almost immediately after our arrival on a busy Sunday afternoon, and our meal began with a plate of warm, sweet croissants. Next came a tower of crispy battered onion rings with two dipping sauces. Absolutely yum! I ordered two sides for my entree: Caesar salad and Buffalo fried shrimp. The chilled romaine lettuce was mixed with a Caesar dressing and topped with a perfect amount of shaved Parmesan cheese and toasted croutons. Oh, and my shrimp--it was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right with Buffalo sauce and a ramekin of Ranch dressing. My spouse ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich where the meat and cheese had been expertly tucked inside hollowed-out French-type rolls. They were sprinkled with powdered sugar and served alongside a ramekin of what he said was some of the best strawberry jam he's tried. He chose a cheesy broccoli casserole for his side and had no complaints with that. Brooke, our server, kept on her toes with a roomful of diners, treated us as though we were the only patrons in the restaurant. She checked back with us several times, cleared used dishes off the table and filled drink glasses. Another couple dined with us, and the restaurant seemed in no hurry to turn our table. We drove into Knoxville for the farmers market and decided to drive around afterwards. We stopped in at Cheddars and was not disappointed, my wife went with the tacos and I went with the chicken fried chicken. Both were amazing. We ordered the cheddar bites, and they were so good, and I absolutely LOVE the complementary fresh croissants (still warm from the oven!). They are absolutely AMAZING! Their prices on beer and wine are SO much more reasonable than other places we go, and the food was delicious! Their charge for a 9 oz. glass of wine is what most places charge for 6oz, and I hope they continue that! We went in with a group of five people and all ordered something different and separately, and then each of us got a monster cookie to boot, and the food was all great and had massive portions, but what really stood out was our server, Alexis D., who kept is steadily supplied with drinks and was SO kind and understanding of everything we asked of her. Our food came out quickly and our desserts came out RIGHT on time for all of us, even though one took longer to finish his entree than anyone else. The have a wonderful menu with a wide variety of options, including my favorite, a chicken pot pie. We went for lunch and we're served mouth watering croissants with a honey, buttery glaze. They were light and fluffy and melted in your mouth. Meals were about $10-15; very reasonable for the area. We enjoyed a quiet meal and were able to talk and eat comfortably. The family and I, after careful deliberation, decided upon Cheddars for our evening sustenance. We had been in heated debate whether to eat at O'Charleys or this establishment. Both were favored for one thing and one thing in particular. The pre dinner accompaniment. O'Charleys has their delicious rolls and Cheddars, their buttered croissants. Back and forth it went, until expecting mama put her foot down and asserted her will. The croissants won out, and thus, we find ourselves seated around a table, licking butter off our fingers. Isn't it typical that us crazy Americans are arguing over buttered bread while a war is raging in the Ukraine? I'm sure they have never tasted Cheddars croissants, for if they had, they may at this very moment be breaking bread at the negotiating table. Two burgers, a Dijon chicken dish, a country fried steak, and chicken fingers for Benjamin, hit our table just about the time we were wondering if we had been stiffed by our server. We weren't forgotten, not even when I had mentioned that a beer was a couple of ounces short. Most likely due to an evaporated head (not the server, the glass of beer). Our server promptly brought those delinquent 2 oz.'s in a separate glass. I was kind of hoping for a full one. It would have been a "shingled roof" you know, it's on the house? Our food was right on. The funny thing is that when all was said and done, our conversation on the drive back home centered around the croissants.
