Upon entering this establishment, I refuse to call compliment it by calling it a restaurant, my wife and I were "greeted" by what had to be the most hateful hostess I have ever encountered. She literally dropped the menus and silverware on the table before we sat down and walked off. Before ordering, I went to the restroom. It was filthy and stank of urine...ALSO the stall was "gang tagged" (See pictures below) The server was either new or had some sort of learning disability. The food runner had his mask around his chin exposinghis mouth and nose. I think he may have had learning disabilities as well. Who doesn't know how to properly wear a mask??? When I received my meal the steak was nearly well done, I ordered it medium rare, yet cold as were the coconut shrimp. Instead of complaining about the wrong steak I asked for some A-1, which I never use, because I like to taste my steak, he brought me barbecue sauce and said that they didn't have A-1. The loaded baked potato was so overcooked that it had shriveled and dried out and the broccoli casserole had a large burnt section on it. The server rushed the check and I told him that we wanted desert he audibly sighed and reluctantly took the desert order. The chocolate cake was stale, the ice cream was nearly melted and to top it off, he said that they were out of cherries. I will not speak for my wife's experience because it is not my place to do so. In conclusion don't eat at this Cheddars at all!!! Go to Burger King down the road. I have never been there but it has to be better than Cheddars, and probably won't be tagged by gangs. I don't usually love chain restaurants but Cheddar's always provides a great meal at a good price. Today was no exception. There were two of us, both old-ish women, there for lunch. We both chose the Veggie Plate which allows the choice of a bowl of Potato Soup or a house salad AND four of te great sides. The choices are all delicious and portions generous. All this for $10! To top it all off our server, Allison, was stellar. She made sure everything was to our liking, kept drinks refilled , cheerful brought containers for leftovers and bags. The past two visits I came out here to visit my parents they took me to Cheddar's! Both times were AMAZING! The food is so good here and the prices are very reasonable especially for a touristy area. My parents absolutely love this place and rave about it. We came today before they dropped me off at the airport and the service was A+++ and our waiter wasn't bad looking as well so that didn't hurt haha. Cheddar's is one of my favorite places to eat. I love the atmosphere and of course the huge fish tank. My favorite of their their Bourbon Glazed Salmon. Yummy!! I had not been in several months due to COVID-19. Decided to go back last week and was really impressed with the cleanliness and friendly service received. I really liked that now you can pay at your table. (I always use my debit card because I just don't carry a lot of cash on me). Our waitress showed us how to pay on a tablet like device they have on all tables now. You insert your card and add a tip and then it prints out your receipt right there at your table! I hope they keep this around permanently and would love to see more restaurants using this. read more

Sat at the bar because the restaurant was busy Sat around 6pm. Most restaurants hade a 30 minute wait in the area as did Cheddars. The bar oddly was completely empty at 6pm. I've never seen this at other restaurants. I ordered drinks and two dinners. The drinks and bartender where good. I ordered the New Orleans pasta. It would have been good the first time had it been served when it was ready. It was room temperature when it was served. The second time it came it was perfect. Another couple ordered some steaks and those were a complete miss for them. Desert came 25 minutes after ordering. They have a good cookie and ice cream dessert, and a cheese cake. Again, the dessert must have been made and sat out. The ice cream was melted (they said it's the hot cookie) and the cheese cake was warm. Avoid the bar if you want a good meal. They don't back up the bartender when food is ready. Steaks cooked as requested are hit and miss. The steak quality looks good though. read more

Of all the restaurants in Knoxville, TN, my son chose Cheddar's on Kingston Pike for his birthday dinner. First off, outside the restaurant was dirty. The front porch area was chipped up & unkept. Entering the place, the floors were extremely dirty with debris on the floor in every area. It looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while. We ordered an appetizer & the server said she would bring croissants when they were ready. That didn't happen. We ordered our entrees & they were good for the most part. We ordered dessert, but the server never offered to remove any of our other plates from the table, even after we had stacked them up. The server, however, was friendly & the service was fast. We all used the restroom before we left. The guys said theirs was dirty. In the women's, there was toilet paper pieces all over the floor, the sanitary deposal container was running over, probably hadn't been emptied in a while, the sink drain was nasty, partially clogged & the faucet was faulty. Overall disappointing experience! Decent food is not everything. Cheddar's on Kingston Pike in Knoxville needs a lot of improvement! read more

I went there with a friend, and one of the specials was the grilled salmon salad. We both ordered the salmon salad, and it was amazing... I got mine with lemon pepper, and it was cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and delicious as were the candied pecans in the salad. The serving size was large enough to provide another meal at home. I got the potato soup for an appetizer. It was delicious and hearty. The honey croissant roll was fresh and delicious as well. We had a great server who kept our tea glasses full and was very in tune to our table. The hostess readily accomodated my need to sit in a quiet spot away from the bar area. Yummy and reasonably priced comfort food is what I find to be the case here at Cheddar's. It is no different from other Cheddar's I have visited and they have the moving fans and large fish tank inside. The parking lot is very big and the restaurant itself was spacious. The entrees that have listed sides were interchangeable with the sides that one would just add to an entree for additional charge. That is an awesome thing because they have quite a good list of sides and I hope to try all of them in rotation at some point in time. My dining companions and I decided to order the country style fried chicken dinner and the country fried steak. The chicken seems like the better choice as the meat was moist and tender. The steak was more like a hamburger patty deep fried in a semi-thick and soft batter. I was hoping for an actual steak and a crunchier batter like the one on the fried chicken. The steak batter also slipped away with every bite or knife cut and it was difficult to eat the steak as a whole. The portions are quite large and while we didn't have left overs we were glad that we didn't order any appetizers or desserts. Being too stuffed is not glorious! Overall I like this chain restaurant and I miss the food when I'm not down south and the northeast region does not have a Cheddar's. read more

We always have a positive experience at any Cheddars. My wife and I were seated immediately and received outstanding service from our server. We each had a beer on tap and shared their appetizer sampler for lunch. This is plenty for two people. It has four chicken fingers with mustard sauce, spinach dip, queso dip, salsa and a big basket of chips. The chicken fingers were some of the best I've had. Super crunchy! 4 pm Sunday Nov 28. 2018 My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. It's not the first time we come here and we never had any problems. In fact I even complimented then for the great food. When we were finished, I went to the restroom and in the meantime my husband paid the bill without looking at it. It was 5:16pm. When I came back I noticed that there was an extra amount for game time that should not have been there. So while my husband went to the restroom I kept pressing the service button on the console so that the waiter would come over. I pressed 4 times and he never came. I even saw him a few tables away and called him but he did not hear me. In the meantime my husband came back and sat down. Finally I saw the waiter and flagged him down. He came over and I explained that while I touched the game button on the console I never played any games. He agreed to remove the charge. He took the receipt and left. He came back with a new receipt and explained that he was not able to remove the extra charge but that he gave us a credit of $5 off. It was 5:36pm. My husband paid the bill but when he looked at it he said that it was higher than the previous bill and could not understand why. I tried to figure it out myself and when the waiter came back I saw that he had charged for the queso and guacamole (we had a coupon for free). So the waiter said he would go see his manager. He came back 20 minutes later and said that while he could not fix it there would be a credit of $6.29 plus tax credited to our account. I told the waiter (Jacob A) that this was unacceptable and demanded to see the manager.He said ok and I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to come by. Finally a woman came by. She never gave her name. She asked what happened. And I told her all of the above. She agreed that we would not have to pay the meal. It was over 6pm if not later when we were finally able to leave. I looked at our bank account and the whole $44 was charged. The manager said she would said she would take care of it. She never took care of it. And now I have to call them tomorrow. read more

The upgrades here can definitely be appreciated. The name change and the sign also tell the story inside of this establishment. The servers and food are definitely very fresh as well as on time. I've never had a problem with this location, sometimes just being seated very very far away and lonesome which is good sometimes but not all the time. The menu is very bland and more for the older crowd. If you are looking for a variety, this is definitely not the place. But if you're looking for a good affordable average food that will be brought out on time and fresh with many options, this is definitely the place for you. The waiting area is very small and crunched, so if you come on a Sunday or around the holidays definitely expect to either stand or wait very closely outside or in the car. They do have a pretty awesome bar that is not as utilized as it should be! If you don't get seated in the area you might miss that they even have one. Drink up and live well read more

There was a bit of a wait to be seated on this Saturday evening, but the bar was completely empty so we seated ourselves right in front of the TV to watch some of the Vols game. The bartenders are artists; they make a variety of drinks but can and will tweak them to meet your specific taste. I asked for a dry margarita, which I enjoyed, and my friend got the margarita made with some mint, which was also good and not too "minty." Drinks overall were great. I settled on the nachos for my dinner, as the menu's description of them sounded great- and I asked for extra jalapenos instead of the meat. However, they came with cheese, lettuce, and jalapenos and THAT'S IT. There was supposed to be salsa, and pico de gaio, and refried beans, possibly also sour cream and other things, and the menu had no mention of lettuce. After mentioning this to the bartender, and after I finished picking out the lettuce, the side of salsa and pico de gaio arrived. I just ate them as is and they were pretty good. But some of the other toppings that were mentioned on the menu, such as the beans, were forgotten, and never came. I don't blame the bartender, he didn't make the dish. It just seems like somehow the kitchen staff didn't realize what the nachos were supposed to include. My friends "spazogna" (spaghetti with lasagna) was pretty good. I'm not sure if I'll come back, but if I do, I certainly won't waste my time or money on those nachos again. read more

We arrived at Cheddars after the dinner rush. Was seated right away and placed out order within a few minutes. 30 minutes later our food arrived and everything but the croissants were luke warm. Not hot, not cold, definitely in the danger zone for food born illness. Luke warm, kind of like this review. Don't get me wrong, Cheddar's has great tasting food and friendly service. However I can't put up with being lied to. It's not only Cheddar's but I find this at many restaurants. When you count your macros and do meal prep it becomes pretty obvious. Take for instance the Salmon, it comes in either the 6oz or the 8oz. I choose to pay more to get the 8 oz and can visually see it's not the 8 oz. sometimes it is, but many times it's not. This is also true of the steaks. You order and pay for the larger size but receive the smaller. So I ordered it to go to verify this fact. read more

I finally stopped into this place after driving past it once a week for the last two years. Cheddars is one of those places I forget about. It isn't that I don't like the place, it just isn't on our "list" of places we frequent. I like their honey butter croissants, various side dishes and their chicken tenders. I have tried other entrees and have not enjoyed them as much. Actually, I usually just get a vegetable plate when I pop in (usually to the Clinton Hwy spot). If their croissants were complimentary all the time (they were on this day for lunch) I would go much more often. read more
