Yup, right there anchoring down the corner of Mulberry and Grove Sts was ANGIE'S KITCHEN. Wow...they offer several menu items but I bet you 9 out of 10 people choose the scrumptious OLD TYME BUFFET. It had everything you possibly could desire. The salad bar featured beets and locally grown tomatoes that had the taste from years ago. Fried Chicken, Pasta, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Fish, Soups (2), .....ohhh my I cannot remember all the delicious items. The only thing exceeding the scrumptious buffet was the attentiveness and spirited attitude of the server. Her name was Leslie or Lindsay ... let her choose which name but she married into the family. She was such a memorable person that one remembers. Thanks, Angie's Kitchen. Hope so much to come thaty way again.

The burgers are consistently delicious, and the menu is packed with satisfying Southern comfort-food favorites. A lot of the menu features fried items that appear to be frozen then fried fresh just before they are served. That is not a criticism at all; the food comes out hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The chicken-fried steak is a great example. It is not a handmade steak prepared from scratch in the kitchen, but rather a prepared patty--and it is still absolutely delicious, especially when you order it as a sandwich. Be sure to try the fried squash or fried okra. Both are crispy, flavorful, and among the better versions I have had around town. They also serve some of the best sweet tea I have tasted anywhere. Breakfast is another reason to visit--their morning food is outstanding. Add in the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a serving staff that is always top-notch, and you have a place that is easy to recommend. The food is a LOT better quality than the local chain accross the street and was served quickly. The coffee is also very good. The food selection on the buffet was as good as anywhere. The waitstaff is super freindly and helpful also. This is clearly an overlooked restaurant for the Oak Ridge locals, since it's inside the hotel. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food that is availible. There is a ton of close parking and its easy to access. We plan on going back for dinner one night just to change things up. Yes you can chase a dollar and eat cheaper locally, no doubt, but to have a nice clean, not crowded place with high quality food sets this place apart. It's been a long time since I sat in the relative quiet to enjoy my food.

We are not talking about fancy food - rather a restaurant that offers a simple tasty meal and beverage close to home and in the marina. We went here with a group of friends- we all live within 10 minutes of Maria's. All other options for us are 30 minutes away. So, it's nice to have a local option.... First, the service. Very good. They are taking this seriously. Servers were attentive and knowledgable. The menu. Good - on a hot day the selection of cold beer was solid. I don't think they have a liquor license yet but I didn't care with the beer. The appetizers were strong, as they should be at such a location. Sometimes you wanna graze the appetizers - the wings were very tasty and came in three sauces. The corn fritters were also good - three sauces. A few others looked good The main menu: everyone that had a burger was happy - as they should be at a restaurant like this. Those that ventured deep into the menu were disappointed. My comment is you dont go to a place like this for the fish and chips or teriyaki. Trim a few things off the menu and prop up the strong obvious offerings. I didn't get into the desserts but they looked good. The place was loud which I applaud that business was good - stay open, refine and deliver to locals

Unfortunately, our experience left us uncomfortable enough that we decided not to order food. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was an unpleasant odor. Being located on a marina, some smells are expected, and I'm very familiar with marinas, but this seemed to be something beyond that and wasn't what I'd expect in a restaurant environment. The bartender was extremely friendly and welcoming, which was definitely the highlight of our visit. One of the other individuals there was also very kind and moved a chair for us when we sat down. The restaurant currently uses QR codes for menus or offers an iPad to view the menu, which wasn't ideal but wasn't a dealbreaker. They also did not yet have their liquor license, so some drink options were unavailable. Beer was available, but only in 16-ounce cans. As we looked around, it appeared that there was very little attention being given to cleaning or organizing the restaurant despite there being only one group seated at the bar. When I went looking for the restroom, the signage was confusing and led me outside into the grass with no clear direction from there. While trying to find my way, I passed an outdoor storage area that appeared to need significant attention and may have been contributing to the odor. The atmosphere overall felt disorganized and unfinished. A television was playing loudly in Spanish, making it difficult to understand and adding to the feeling that the restaurant wasn't quite ready for guests. Between the cleanliness concerns, confusing layout, and overall lack of professionalism, we ultimately decided not to take a chance on ordering food while on vacation. I genuinely hope Maria's Bistro succeeds, and with some attention to cleanliness, organization, and customer experience, I think they could improve significantly. The bartender provided excellent service, but at this stage, the restaurant still has a lot of work ahead of it.

We had a reservation and were seated quickly at a cute table for two. Unbeknownst to us, it was taco Tuesday, suggesting $3 tacos of various proteins. We ordered three as an appetizer and were amazed by how tasty they were. Don't skip the tofu- that was our surprise favorite. My wife ordered the pork belly and I, the enlightened bowl. The pork belly was incredible- the best we've ever had. Tender, soft, rich, and a generous portion. Plenty of leftovers there. My enlightened bowl felt extremely healthy and fresh. I felt like a horse in a pasture. I stole many bites of pork. I might suggest adding a protein besides the salmon crumbles (it comes with those, but think tuna packet texture). Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Farmacy and look forward to our next visit.
