First time I have ever been to this chain. The food is average but the atmosphere is really nice for the most part and the prices are very reasonable. It's presented looking almost upscale in the interior but feels and is very casual. I came here with some friends and I got the chicken and waffles. The portions are generous, which may be enough for some to bump their ratings up. The chicken a bit dry but the waffles were good. We also got the cheese dip which was nothing special. The place is brand new, clean, and has a lot of potential. I can definitely see it becoming a big hit and getting a lot of customers. But from my recent experience, management seems shaky. The service is straight up hit and miss. Training is lacking for sure. Some of the waiters/waitresses are great, friendly, and attentive. Others, however, are none of the above and don't even pretend to smile. Although I was greeted well by the host, on my way out, another party asked a question and were told "wait a minute" - no please, no eye contact, nothing - rude to say the least. For a chain restaurant that is safe and will give you consistent quality, I think this place is worth trying. I'll definitely come to this place again to give it another shot. I am hoping that I will be able to find something that I really like and that the service improves. read more

First time in Cheddars. Best I could say is Ahhhhh....it was OK. I got in about 7.30 on a Thursday night. Fairly crowded. I sat at bar. I ordered a spinach dip app, ribeye steak with a salad. Salad came out in minutes. As I was halfway thru my salad, out came spinach dip, luke warm. They must have salads ready to grab and go for staff. The spinach dip could have been hotter. The sour cream on top didn't even melt into the dip when I stirred it. I took away for that. So as I'm halfway thru dip, the steak comes out. Steak was good. Guess you never hear anyone complain about food coming out too fast, but it sat in front of me getting cold. It's like there is no communication as to how food is coming out. Food is 3 stars The Bar is 5 stars Cheddars overall is 4 stars. The interior of this place is really nice, its sort of a mix between a boat club and a cabin with a giant awesome fish tank. The food doesn't match to the interior and is explained by the fact that Cheddars is a franchise. I ordered a burger and a portabello mushroom sandwich which were good, but not great. The service is good and quick with friendly waiters but i did see one with a black eye... what happened? The drinks at the bar are excellent and definitely make visiting Cheddars again worth it. They have plenty of liquors to choose from with plenty of juices to mix with. Get the painkiller. The bar tenders seem a bit frustrated and irritated at the management but friendly to the customers. I did see our bartenders get in a hissy fit with the manager over Baileys Irish Creme. Apparently the manager brought it out late and blamed the bar tender for not making the customer happy. I came in feeling extremely car sick and within 2 minutes of sitting down I felt amazing. We had an extremely charming and funny waiter named Aaron and he was so good about all of demands and had the best Smile. Unfortunately since I felt sick all I got was a salad but my best friend and her mother had real food and they had nothing but the best to say. We also had a nice in counter with the manager, Jason, who was nice enough to throw our desert on the house. We left a $30 tip because of the amazing service AND food. Was not impressed with the service on 12-11-2022. Myself and 4 friends went to Cheddars in Erie, Pa for lunch while we were on a shopping weekend. We were seated around 1:45 PM, and waited until almost 2:00 for our server Dante to bring us our drink orders (lemon waters -- nothing fancy) -- We placed our order for some appetizers, and sandwiches (4 bacon cheeseburgers, and 1 Monte Cristo). After our appetizers, we waited approximately a half hour for our sandwiches. When they arrived, we had 3 burgers, 1 Monte Cristo, and a chicken sandwich. Dante did apologize for the mix up and stated that someone else must have gotten my burger. No big deal, he would have them make another one. Luckily I have amazing friends, and one split their fries with me, and another split their burger with me. My burger was not ready to be brought out until we were ready to leave, so I asked for it to be boxed up. Dante brought my burger to go, and our bills. My bill included my lemonade, the chicken sandwich (that I had not ordered), my burger, and sautéed mushrooms (that I had not ordered). I asked Dante about the chicken sandwich, and he said that he would remove it from my bill, while he was working on that I opened the to go container, and found a bacon cheeseburger that had sautéed mushrooms, onion and pickles (I had ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion and pickles only). I informed him that the burger I received was not what I ordered, and I would not be paying for it. I would gladly pay for my lemonade, and that was all. Dante did comp my lemonade; however, when one of my friends spoke with the manager he said that he would send some coupons via email once we left for us to return another time. As of this morning, we have not received those coupons. I have previously worked in the service industry and understand that there are times when things get hectic, but have always tried to serve my patrons to the best of my abilities. My biggest complaint about my entire experience at Cheddars was that they thought I was going to pay for a chicken sandwich that Dante must have keyed into the computer incorrectly from the beginning, also the long wait times we had for everything, even though it was after the lunch rush when we were there. I am not sure if we will be returning to Cheddars. I think this is the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. read more

My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time for lunch today because we had been given a gift card. The staff was polite and business-like but none of them even smiled. At anyone. We had plenty of time to observe this because it took 35 minutes for food to arrive. We had each ordered a cheeseburger, one well done and one medium. They both arrived well done. The soup arrived barely warm and I had to wait for the server to come by again so I could ask for a spoon to eat it with. The cheeseburgers didn't come with fries. We were asked if we wanted some and we declined. One of the cheeseburgers arrived with fries. As it turned out, we were not charged for them. Was that the server trying to make amends or did someone just screw up? We have money left on the gift card but it's doubtful we'll go back to use it. read more

Beautiful decor - staff was friendly. Most of the dishes were good. Unfortunately, we ordered a blackened salmon/grilled shrimp dish that was barely cooked and ice-cold in the middle. Had lunch 4/12 we ordered 3 croissant pasteries which were Awesome. A must try. Now on to bad. My dates food had to be remade before it was ever served. So my plate was left in window long enough to turn med rare to med well so my food had to be remade as well but when finished products did arrive they were great philly sub is delicious and I ordered 8oz sirloin and ribs which were pretty good plenty of sweet bbq sauce on ribs. In town for business and while in pursuit of a nice restaurant for dinner the Famous Cheddars appeared. I'm use to seeing this restaurant in the Southern states like NC or GA. I decided to eat at a high table in the bar area around 8:30pm. The service wasn't bad but the food left much to be desired. I had the Bourbon Glazed Salmon that comes with rice and 2 sides. I order broccoli and off the cob corn. I ordered extra Bourbon sauce... please note that it's an additional $1. The Bourbon Glaze was not at all what I envisioned to taste especially since other locations have mastered it. The sauce was kinda salty. It had a taste similar to soy sauce. Not a fan. I order the famous Crescent rolls that were 3 for a little of $2. They had plenty of the famous spread but the rolls itself didn't taste as fresh. I also ordered the rum punch to spice up my meal and it was pretty decent. Probably wouldn't be a go to order for a drink but they do have a small list of Alcoholic beverages for Happy Hour prices. The rum punch was roughly 4.49. I will note that my silverware was dirty. I kindly asked for a replacement and the second batch was dirty. That's a huge turnoff. I wish I thought to ask for plastic ware. Overall the service was decent and the food wasn't awful; I just think that some of the other locations have mastered the scratch kitchen. read more

Don't let the bad reviews keep you from trying it here. Our party of 4 all enjoyed the food, the service, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness of this restaurant. The prices were great -- All of the entrees (with the exception of the combination meals) were all under $10, and we all had food left over to take home with us. And all of the soft drinks/lemonades/flavored iced teas came with free refills for only $2 - $3, so that was a nice touch, too. The one caveat was the wait time between the salad and the main course. This was my first experience and it was amazing. Lisa was our waitress and she was awsome. She gave great recommendations for me and my family. She was very attentive and never let my glass go empty. My family ordered the entire favorite menu. There was not one complaint at the table and if you only knew my family. Advice. The veggie plate off the favorite menu, comes with a bowl of soup and 4 sides only $7.something. it was very generous portions. That broccoli casserole was to die for. After the meal the manager came to see how our meals and service were and gave us complimentary cookies. Even if the food was horrible I would come back just for the service. HORRIBLE. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Hostess seated us after about 5 minutes. We got menus, chose our appetizer, drinks, and full meal. We planned our retirement and grand children's vacations for life. We died of a combination of starvation and dehydration because we were completely ignored by all of the wait staff and manager, until he noticed our corpses in his booth while he opened the next morning. Moral of the story, if you go to cheddars... you will die. But on a serious note. This is the bomb! I came here with a party of 10 on Father's Day. Here is my review: ATMOSPHERE The restaurant is very modern, and also had a fish tank for a splash of color. I thought their fan was cool, it was a huge fan that was made of oars, and was awesome. FOOD The food is awesome. I had a serloin with mac n cheese and fries. The serloin was awesome, very tender. The mac n cheese, it was SUPER cheesy, and had some bread crumbs on it. The fries were awesome, I added salt and they were great! STAFF We had a reservation in advance, and the people in our seats ahead of us took a while, so they gave us free chips and queso to apologize. I didn't really care for them, but the rest of our party did. Our waitress was very attentive and cared for us. The silverware was running low but they fixed that immeadieately. This is a restaurant that has a lot going for it. Prices are excellent, drinks are unique, great setting for groups or dates. However they also have problems. The menu is becoming the same as everywhere else, they used to have Chicken & Waffles and a hearty grilled meat & cheese that are no longer available. Service was terrible, food was not all that great, and the wait was awful. 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon, place was near empty and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We called in ahead of time and they said they are no longer taking reservations with Covid, which I understand so we stopped and they said 15 to 20 minute wait they would text us whenever it is ready. We come in 45 minutes later because we still receive no text in the hostess says that the message was sent why they didn't call us after so long is beyond me. Then we sit down our waiter doesn't immediately greet us so we're sitting there for a little while and then once he brings our drinks we get no straws, our fries had very little cheese on them and tasted like they were from this morning. My boyfriend and I have been going to Cheddars for past 2+ years about once a month. Up until last 2 visits have been very pleased. Service was great, food even better..... 2 visits ago we ordered onion ring appietizer, lemon pepper white fish and burger. The onion rings took 20 mins to come out and then our meal came out 2 min later. Didn't even get to enjoy onion rings before meal came out. My fish was over cooked and was like rubber and blackened. Couldn't find server to send it back so I finally got a manager to take it back. While waiting for my meal to come back the server came up to ask if everything was ok and didn't even know I sent mine back. Manager never even came back to make sure everything was ok. Then we had out of town family and went again thinking it was just an off day...not the case. We ordered chips and queso which took 20 mins to come out and went through 3 helpings of chips while waiting about 45 min more on our meal to come out....which was not very good at all. My buffalo chicken wrap was hard, daughter alfredo sauce thick and cold and boyfriends burger was cold as well. Service was not great either...or good...saw waitress maybe 3 times in the 2 1/2 hours we were there....which most of that time was waiting on service and food. Terrible! Service was soooo slow. Food was cold and it wasnt even busy. The ladies rest rooms was neglected; over flowing trash cans (PLURAL) and the stall I used had an over flowing femnapkin bin. When I asked my server to get the manager another server came over looking like she was ready for a fight when I asked if she was the manager she said no but she already knows what I am going to say the first stall doesnt lock correctly(SERIOUSLY?) Every time I have been here the food has been cold, And terrible! I will boost them up one star due to the fact that they had the head cook come out and ask if we wanted anything else or what they could do to improve the meal. Probably make sure the food is hot and edible. They did take my meal off of the bill and offered to give us a $25 gift card but I turned it down because I will not be returning.
