5-10 minute wait. Not bad for happy hour time on a Friday. Our server Wade was excellent. He was spot on with checking on us and making sure we were ok. I ordered a ribeye. Never again! I had to remind myself: this isn't a steak restaurant. It was gross. I had more chewed up & spit out, tough meat in my napkin than I had in my belly. I wasn't going to make a fuss over it BUT my husband didn't want to let it go. A manager came by and my husband explained that I wasn't happy with the ribeye. There are very few instances where I visit a restaurant on the first visit and can give a high rating. A friend and I visited Cheddars on a Monday afternoon. Not only did we have a great server (Rich) who kept our glasses full, but the food was awesome. We tried the quesadilla as an appetizer. It was crispy and the veggies were fresh. I tried the Tuscan grilled chicken sandwich- delicious what a great combination of flavors! My friend tried the Jalapeno burger- it was moist and the bun was nicely toasted. We both tried the broccoli casserole- We loved it enough to get seconds to take home with the other halves of our sandwiches. We will definitely be back! There was no wait time we were promptly seated even though the parking lot appeared pretty full. There was not a long wait for appetizers or the entrees. Three stars because the food was mediocre to me. I ordered my food to go; maybe they provide better servings and platings when you dine in -either scenario should be treated with equal care. I am posting pics of items my brother orders to go: 1. Lemon Pepper White Fish; 2. Chicken Pot Pie. I don't recall what he said about the fish except he could have had it on a bed of rice rather than the little cot (small, uncomfortable bed -is it even a twin size?) of rice. It is very crowded most of the time but we have always had good service. The food is good for families with children. Lots of kid friendly food. We have had lots of things on the minuend it is just good home food. Prices are very good also. You can't go wrong here. Service on other hand isn't so great, food bits and paper bits on the floor. Staff and service was absolutely subpar. Tried to be reasonable about everything, but was constantly met with inadequacy. The host had AirPods in her ear and me and my friend stood in front of her while she and her coworkers were chatting and laughing, instead of tending to the guests. I was given a gift card to cheddars for my birthday last month, which I wanted to get rid of because I literally never go to this restaurant and this was my sole purpose of visiting it on this day. So I asked for her to charge the gift card to the bill first and then the remaining balance to my friends card. And just to make sure I remembered the balance correctly, to let me know how much was on the gift card before she charged the friends card. Instead of doing what I asked, she charged the full balance to my friends card only, because my "gift card had $0 on it." Asked her to please check it again, because again my birthday was less than a month ago and it was impossible that I was gifted an empty gift card. She and the manager both tried two more times before coming back and finally told me it miraculously worked after telling me multiple times the balance was $0. Needless to say, we now needed a refund on my friends card and for the correct remaining balance to be charged to her card instead of the entire bill. Went on a Saturday. Took sometime to get seated. Once seated there was a major delay in getting the drinks. Understand the wait to get the entree since it is a scratch kitchen. Ordered the spinach dip which was okay nothing special but good especially when you are hungry. Ordered the Presidente Sangria which had a lot of ice in a big glass with a bit of alcohol. Drank my and my companions and still waiting on the main course. I already know that we will not be getting dessert. My companions are complaining about the wait. I would never come here again. it took the server 20 mins to address us, 15 to get drinks, and then 20 to get cold appetizers. then when we got the food, my friends was cold, and mine looked like something was in th middle and they took it out. plus it was cold too but we were too hungry. I love coming to this place for an inexpensive meal that is still good. It's always packed on the weekends especially by the bar. We came on a Friday night and the wait was about fifteen minutes which was not too bad. Ranise was our waitress and she was very nice. I always try to order something different and I went with "Gigi's baked spasagna" with meat sauce. Ummmmmm it was very different. Very disappointing experience last night. This is the note I left for our server, Aaron explaining why I didn't tip him. I get it was later in the evening (we got there around 9:30) but that's not an excuse. I've served and bartended, so I know. In all of my training, bussing your table was always paramount. Don't wait for a busser, if something can be taken off the table- simply move it. If you see another table that's dirty, even if it's not your own- help out and clean it. But Aaron came by and would add dishes to the table. It wasn't until we were about to leave he moved the dishes we used for the appetizer (the trio sampler). He got my friend a water refill- and I know some places get you a new glass versus using the same one- but when he brought the new glass, he left the old one. Do you see how this was a little annoying? Because at this point we have on the table: appetizer dishes that aren't being used, 2 empty shot glasses (that I stacked for him and placed on the edge of the table for him to grab but he never did), an empty wine glass, my friend's empty glass of water, his new refill, and our entrees that we're trying to eat. On top of that, we didn't see Aaron. He never came by to see how the food was, if we needed anything, etc. He was gone for a while. The restaurant didn't seem crazy busy, so I assumed maybe he was doing sidework, but still. I also saw servers hanging around talking, but again there were 2 tables near us that had dirty dishes on them. That had been sitting there for a while. The atmosphere felt lazy and indifferent, which is why I told Aaron to take pride in his work. But I shouldn't have to. Yes I was disappointed last night, especially because I brought my guest and it was his first time going. I've been to Cheddars in Texas, Indiana, and other locations and never experienced this type of service before. I was excited to go because I hadn't been in a while. My waitress was ok all way around dissapointed I was given -sitten a Whiileee- room temperature Croissants that I purchased.. My Loaded Potato didn't come with the $1.00 bacon Bits I ordered on my potato , I had to ask for it...and it came in a to-go cup and I was still seated to Dine-in My Guest truly loved the Tomato dressing it tasted like ginger mixed with a Thai or sesame something. How far this place has fallen. this is my 4th time here and my last. I sat at the bar, the service was great but the air is on so it's freezing. my food came quick. So.....let's talk about Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Brandywine Maryland.....we went there on 21 Mar. 23, a Tuesday afternoon about 1:00 p.m. and it was not crowded..... Our waiter was named Remy and he did an okay job.....however.....the food and mixed drinks were another story..... My brother ordered a Margarita and the rest of us had soft drinks.....According to my brother.....the Margarita was weak and lacked a reasonable (customary) amount of liquor..... As for food.....I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs and when it came.....they did not look like baby back ribs at all.....they were a little too big and "very" fatty.....and as anybody who orders baby back ribs on a regular basis knows.....they are not a fatty cut of meat.....and worst of all.....they had no flavor.....they tasted as though they were un-seasoned before or during cooking..... After we received our food.....it took awhile to get someone's attention.....and finally a person saw me trying to get the hostess' attention and asked if we needed anything.....I said that I needed to speak to the manager.....this person stated that he was the manager.....however.....he was not the manager.....he was another waiter pretending to be the manager.....we told him about the issues with my food and the mixed drink that my brother had.....he found our waiter (Remy) and sent him over to our table.....we again explained the issues with the food and the drink.....I sent my ribs back and ordered a different entrée..... Our waiter eventually returned with my replacement food order but never offered to replace or correct my brother's drink.....when we finished our meal.....we paid our bill and left.....it was my intention to call back and speak to the "actual" manager later that day.....however.....I did not get around to making the call until several days later..... When I called the restaurant.....I listened to the phone selections and once I got a person on the phone.....I asked....."Who am I speaking to please?"....The young lady told me her name and that she was the carryout person.....I asked to speak to Mr. Collar (the manager).....I was told that he was not in.....but he would be there after 3:30 p.m......when I called back.....I was again told that Mr. Collar was not in.....and I then asked to speak to the manager on duty.....I was transferred to a different person.....and when he came onto the phone.....I said....."Are you the manager?"....he said.....I am the manager.....I then asked....."What is your name please?"....Instead of answering my question.....he ask me for my name.....which I gave him.....he then finally told me his name.....I don't know why he was so hesitant to give me his name.....it was just a first name.....After a brief conversation with him.....I was told that Mr. Collar was on leave and would not be in until the evening of 3 Apr. 23.....I agreed to call back at that time..... Today.....3 Apr. 23.....I placed a call to speak to Mr. Collar.....I was told that he was not in and that he had gone home sick today.....also that he would not be in until Friday 7 Apr. 23..... So.....I am tired of waiting and being put off.....and at this point I am posting my complaint here.....First.....I have already made clear what the problem was with the food and the mixed drink.....so I will not repeat that part..... Second.....I want to know why no staff member offered to replace or correct my brother's drink?.... Third.....why would a waiter pose as the manager.....rather than just say who you really are and inform our waiter as to what the problem is?....Why would this person need to pretend to be a manager in order to inform our waiter of the issues?.... Fourth.....why is your telephone staff and the manager on duty at the time so reluctant to state their name.....even when the customer requests to know who they are speaking to?....What's the big secret?.... Fifth.....have you changed food suppliers.....and the ribs that are being supplied to your restaurant as "Baby Back Ribs" are actually some other cut of ribs and no one noticed this on your end?.... In closing.....let me say that I am the one who suggested that we go to Cheddar's on that day.....and having 2 of my brothers and my son all complain about the ribs (which I gave them off of my plate) as well as one of my brothers having a sub-standard mixed drink.....does not make any of us want to return to your restaurant..... I planed an order at Cheddar's in Brandywine, MD this evening to include an extra order of croissants. My order was scheduled to be ready at 6:15 pm. I arrived at 6:13 pm and checked into space 4. The young lady who was servicing the to go orders only communicated to me that my order was behind when I asked her the 3rd time she came out with other customer's orders, which was around 6:25 pm, she mentioned it would be another 15 minutes, due to the croissants. At 6:45 pm, my order was still not ready. I find it hard to believe that croissants were the hold up to my order, when at least two comes with every order, I believe. I asked to speak with the manager to find some resolve and to rectify this and he/she never obliged, even after going inside to get my order. Why, by the way, my food was cold. This was the most unacceptable and unprofessional service I've ever received at Cheddar's in Brandywine, MD. This is something that Cheddars may want to consider correcting for the future. read more

I love Cheddars, the food is good and reasonably priced. The service is consistent and usually pretty responsive. The only downside can be the occasional hour plus wait depending on what time/day you go but that's any popular restaurant. I love the honey butter croissants and the chicken fingers are a great appetizer. I am surprised that this place has such a low rating. I visited last Saturday for the first time with a friend that lives in the area and thought it was great. We were seated within 5 minutes. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We ordered drinks and our food at the same time and our drinks came out pretty quickly. Our food was just behind it. My friend got shrimp and steak with French fries and coleslaw; I guess it was good because he didn't leave anything on his plate. I ordered a full rack of ribs and took home even more than I ate. This is my second visit and I had to try something different because my favorite dish was off the menu. I really enjoyed the spaghetti lasagna dish that had been offered . No longer on the menu I was forced to order something different and deliciously decadent. The fried sandwich with the raspberry preserves on the side. Sweet and salty and fried, what else do you want. The Monte Cristo, it was delicious but a little too much dough. The food here is good, the portions are large and I always have enough to share or eat later. The atmosphere when it's not packed is great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Worst Cheddar's experience ever. Came here with family, for some it was their first time. It was a 45min wait, no issue understanding due to the COVID indoor capacity restrictions. We were given our Honey Butter Croissants, very warm and delicious! Waitress came, she takes drinks. One person ordered a regular coke and the other ordered diet coke with lemon. She brings the drinks, visibly confused as she doesn't know which coke is which. Her first mistake was not just putting a lemon or two in the diet coke to prevent this. The two advise her that the drinks were incorrect. The waitress has this lost look on her face, no apology just standing there nonchalant. She was honestly giving based on her attitude 'just swap'. The two requested their correct drink. Food time - my mom had chicken tenders with grilled shrimp entree (she never asked when ordering "which sauce would you like for your tenders?"). I made note that my side salad was missing. My entree was the grilled lemon pepper chicken, my entree came out with just one side (had to ask for side caesar salad). She walked off minutes go by, no sight of her so we had to ask another waitress to get her. My mom asked for ranch and ketchup then. My cousin had the steak dinner, she never asked "would you like A1 sauce?". And again, "My salad is missing". We waited 5mins for her to bring condiments - she only brought the ranch. At this point, I'm pissed because she's still not getting it right. By time my salad came, it wasn't crisp or fresh. I could tell the salad had been sitting in the tossed dressing for a while because it was wilted. Now, everyone is upset because my aunt requested a mixed drink and it was never brought. Overall, the waitress service was POOR. She would walk off fast while you're still talking to her and was just not tentative to our table. She had the table next to us and I noticed the elderly woman had to get up and walk to the front for straws. Just unacceptable. The manager was called and he was very defensive and had a smart like reaction to our concerns. Wow, that was fast. The couple to the right of me ordered fish, along with macaroni and cheese, which they said came out cold. I almost ordered mac and cheese, so glad I didn't. I also asked the bartender if they could just change one of the many TVs from the Chicago Bears vs. NY Giants football game on Fox to the Atlanta Falcons vs. Baltimore Ravens game on CBS. My wife and I went to the cheddars location in Camden Delaware about 4-5 years ago and we loved that one. So we decided to give this one a try. The rating on this location was poor and I was nervous coming in because of it. Majority was due to service. Our experience was nothing but positive. Our waitress was attentive, very friendly. No complaints whatsoever. I had the house margarita along with chips and queso and as the main I had the country fried chicken. All of which were great and reminded me of the last time we went to a cheddars. As a cherry on top, we were greeted with 2 honey butter croissants. read more

It was a late night date and wanted to try something different. There was a wait for tables so we decided to sit in the bar area. After being passed by 2 staff the 3rd staff member took notice of us and apologized for the delay. Our drink orders was taken and appetizers of spinach dip was brought out quickly. Our food was well portioned, plentiful and delicious. I would not recommend going within the last hour because things get a lil slack. Our waitstaff forgot about our take home box and refill of drinks. We had to go find them both times. Besides the service it was great place to visit & enjoy a reasonable priced meal. read more
