Went there today and I was with my elderly handicap mother. The hostess was rude and said there is seats at the bar if you want to have a seat. I told her the place isnt busy (which it wasnt, there was 10 cars outside and no one waiting to be seated). Asked to be sat in the regular dining and she rolled her eyes at is and said all their servers are busy. I will not be back if they choose to disrespect elderly handicap people. Went into this restaurant a few weeks ago and was frustrated at how awful the service was. Most of the wait staff was hunkered into one corner booth goofing off instead of tending to their customers. Decided to try one more time tonight. Went in and they sat me at a high top in the bar area. I watched at least 6 to 7 wait staff employees hanging around while I sat at my table waiting to be served for 15 minutes. No more Cheddars!! Delicious find as we were passing through the area! Definitely suggest the fried cheese bites with ranch for a starter! So I was hungry me and my wife decided to stop at cheddars for dinner . I had never ate there myself so we ordered steaks and a couple appetizers. The apps were amazingly delicious the croissant was omg delicious!!!!! Then comes out the steaks appearance was absolutely perfect !! So I ask for the check and waiter comes takes my 100 dollar bill the check was fifty six dollars I give him a hundred dollar bill and he comes back twenty two fifty so he took gratuity out automatically!!! Haven't been here in a while but the quality and attention to detail seems to have gone downhill. Food service was extremely slow even though there were plenty of empty tables. 75 minutes after being seated we still did not have our food and when it did arrive some of the orders were incorrect while others were missing items. While the wait to get into Cheddar's was long, I expect with time this will change once the newness wears off and once they open their other dining areas (still hiring I guess). But don't let the wait stop you from trying this place out. The compliment everyone gives is that they can't believe how good the food is for so little money and I have to agree. The menu offers food that isn't common in other chain restaurants. I chose the catfish and had the option of grilled or fried, blackened or not and lunch or dinner portions. I choose grilled, blackened and lunch portion and had food to spare. I've had this same dish twice and both times the catfish was cooked and spiced perfectly, presented on a bed of rice. Even the lunch portion comes with two sides and I choose red beans and rice and corn, both of which were excellent enough that I came back and ordered the same thing again. All of that for $6.95. Because my group was very hungry when we walked in, we also tried the croissants with honey butter and Cheddar's got that right, too. Topped off with endless fruit tea (they had peach, mango, strawberry and I think others, with a slice of orange), this meal was nearly perfect. My group of three walked out of there for $30 plus tip. WOW! The interior is nice and outside seating will be nice once they open it for dining. Ample parking. Even though this placed is always packed, I have always found a parking spot near the door. And if you get tired of waiting, there is an Olive Garden in the same parking lot. I will be back and I will bring friends and family here. I can't help but rate this with 5 stars. BTW, one last parting note for Panera, in case they're listening. We checked out Cheddar's because you were closed for a meeting one day. Eh. I don't mean to be such a stickler, but I expect better from a Cheddars. The positives: The food came out fairly quickly. No mistakes were made with the order. Service was attentive. The restaurant appeared to be clean. They offer an extensive menu. My dad said his ribs were excellent. Negatives: Mom's nachos were just "ok". My tortilla soup was not the type I prefer. It was overflowing with huge chunks of tomato. The smallish bowl was only about 3/4 full also. My dad ordered a side of red beans and rice. I kid you not, we thought he received the wrong dish because there was literally about 5 rice kernels (is that what they are called?!?) in with the beans. A sad attempt at red beans and rice. We just assumed when ordering, that the word "rice" was plural...because whoever orders rice and expects just ONE kernel? uh, yeah, exactly. NObody Cheddar's!! One last thing to mention. It would have been nice, and helpful, if our server had informed us that they offered a special dessert that takes 15 minutes to cook. Cheddar's is a place where you can get cheap food and quite fast. To me it's basically a sit down fast food restaurant. If you'd like to contribute to the rising obesity problem in America, this is a great place to go. They serve all kinds of food- pastas, seafood, steak, ribs, burgers, salads and none of those are done really well. Everything in this restaurant is just okay. The prices are great and the portions are quite large, so people seem to love this place. I personally go for quality, not quantity. For example, on my last visit alone, the ceaser salad was served with soggy greens, the grilled shrimp had a dirty feet taste, and the chicken tenders were overcooked and not tender. The only thing I really enjoyed were the honey drizzled croissants, they were 3 for $1.99, probably not good for you but they were actually tasty. read more

In my opinion, the food outshines popular competitors in the area like Chili's, TGI Friday's, and O'Charley's, but at a generally lower price. Some of the long waits are undoubtedly because it is new, but with better food at lower prices, don't expect the lines to die down any time soon. There's a reason this place always has a long wait... This is a restaurant we frequently visit. It was very dirty with trash all over the floor. We checking in with host as we always do to set at the high top at the bar and she took us to set and the female bartender said she was too tired to take tables we couldn't set there. Although its just another corporate restaurant, we enjoy visiting here when we go out of town. It has your normal corporate decor, booths, tables, tvs and bar. The menu is extensive, but also basic; we had cheese sticks and chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was good, but the gravy was very rich. My wife and I had a rare date night tonight and chose our local Cheddar's. We got there and the place seemed to be doing a good job with Covid precautions. We then got our table and waited 12-15 minutes before the server showed up. We were getting up to go to chili's when he did. He said sorry one time and stood there as we debated to stay or go. We decided to stay. He could have done a way better job greeting to begin with and then apologizing and convincing us to stay. We placed are order and got our salads. About three minutes later we got our main entrees. My wife's steak was well done as opposed to medium that she ordered. My lemon chicken was dry and hard. I've had this dish many times and it's normally moist. I think they didn't put the sauce on it. It seemed dry like it was under the heat lamp to long. We showed this to the manager and she said my dish sometimes looks like this. What's it supposed to look like? She apologized and we both gave our dish back. She offered to make us something else but we don't have the time at this point. She them blamed Covid for the situation. What's Covid got to do with the server not showing up for 15 minutes? Not trained on customer relations and service? The poor quality control on the food? And the lack of the manager satisfying the customer? Seems like a cop out of an excuse. Some examples.....A few months ago my husband and I went in and ordered and 45 minutes later we still do not have our food, waitress didn't put our order in. Managers fix.....meal is on the house.... Couple months later my husband, my son and I came in for supper, placed our orders and nearly an hour later still no food. Waitress never picked up our order.... Managers fix....meal is on the house.....a month ago my clients wanted to eat at Cheddars against my advice, and you guessed it, the service was horrible. Had to flag down different servers to get drink refills, extra napkins.... Managers fix.... We're sorry we'll try to do better next time..... 2 weeks ago my clients once again wanted Cheddars, Ordered our meals, salads that we asked to be served before meal came after our meals, so I ask you, cold food or soggy salad? We could never get our drinks filled because we never saw our waitress until she brought our checks. Managers fix.... None because the manager never came. Tonight my husband and I went there because he wanted a smokehouse burger. We get seated right away, and hostess said our server would be right with us...10 minutes went by and still no server. First when my wife asked about the special on their board The waitress looked at us with a blank expression. Then we ordered. They never brought the salad my wife ordered I ordered buffalo chicken fingers and they were cold. I sent them back and the manager came by and told me it would take 3 more minutes. After over 15 minutes they brought out a pitifully small order of chicken. My wife had already finished eating so I took it to go. This place was totally packed when I tried to go the first time - like a 45 minute - 1 hour wait. I finally got in at lunch with a girl friend of mine. In that time our waitress came back probably 6 or 7 times to ask if we were ready. Other than that she stood around doing pretty much nothing (she was in my sight the entire time). We ordered our drinks and meal - both of us chose the raspberry tea. I ordered the Dijon-chicken with broccoli casserole and my friend had the lemon pepper chicken with the same - we both had a starter salad. The drinks came back with the raspberry syrup curdled on the bottom - our lazy waitress didn't even bother to stir them. Our salads were great and the croissant served along side was excellent as well. We got our food and began eating. Mine was delicious, my friend's was horrific. She couldn't even take a bite without sneezing there was so much pepper on the chicken, not to mention it was dry as hell. Oh, yeah, and we didn't see our waitress again until she brought us our check - about 10 minutes into our meal, which we were going to order dessert but we decided just to get the hell out of there. I've heard great things about this place but my experience was awful. I didn't even leave the waitress a tip I was so disappointed. We had a wretched experience and while I hope it was a rare night, it was enough that we (my family of 4, mom, dad, and sister) don't ever want to come back. Service was super slow (20 minutes to take our drink order, 20 min to bring drink, 15 min to come back for our dinner order, etc), despite being practically empty. When our food came, half of the orders were wrong or missing something and the other half were cold.
