This is my favorite restaurant in town! Food is delicious, comes to the table rather quickly and is always hot and fresh. The service is beyond amazing, the waitress/waiters are always coming around checking on you and making sure you have everything you need even on nights when they're slammed! My drink has never ran low and stayed low because the server is always on top of it before I even have to ask for a refill. Portions are big size for a great price. The long wait was to be expected because Cheddars is so new, but instead of waiting we sat ourselves at a bar table. Service was ok, however, we had to ask twice for water, refills, and extra plates. If you like your margaritas sweet, you'll like their Maui Margarita (the shot of patron came on the side). The New Orleans pasta had a lot of delicious creole flavors, but after a few bites the saltiness became a bit overwhelming. On my trip to Albany GA for Christmas my mother, brother, and I stopped at cheddars on Westover rd. Understanding this is the holidays and a busy time of year, our 40 minute wait to be seated was not unexpected. The wait time for the waitress to arrive and take our order was very fast and we were glad for the prompt service as we'd grown quite hungry. After that initial greeting however our wait times significantly increased and our waitress disappeared for long stretches. It was almost an hour to get our food, which was not cooked to order. The waitress seemed nice and apologized for our wait again so we didn't complain about the undercooked meal, lack of gravy on the mashed potatoes, or forgetting a side of preserves. As the restaurant cleared out and we finished our food the waitress appeared again, and apologized for our wait time again. We then asked for a to go box, and after 20 minutes with her not being anywhere in sight I got up and asked another staff member to assist us. This was met with, "I'll find your waitress" who almost immediately then came to the table saying, "I heard someone was looking for me, I was checking on another order". This time she was agitated, but by then we had spent almost 2 hours in the restaurant and the place had emptied out. All of the waiting may have been the busy kitchen, but the long wait times for each thing added up! The 20 minute wait for a box was the worst part, because we could see we were one of only a few tables left and no cooking or prepping needed to take place. Overall the food was not delivered to our order and the wait time for the food and the box made our lunch trip an all day affair. There is a lot of hype to this place and I don't see why. It was a Wednesday night and there was a line to be seated. That's understandable considering the hype and that's after waiting more than a month after they opened. I just don't see why there is so much hype. I've been hearing from co-workers for a couple of years about the Cheddar's in Valdosta and how you get so much for you pay for and all of that good stuff, but this wasn't what I expected. I ordered an appetizer to give this place a good try. I ordered the onion rings. They took a while to come out, but it was a neatly stacked tower of onion rings with honey mustard and ranch dip. The onion rings themselves were kind of bland and lacked any seasoning, but the dips paired well and tasted great, so this worked out. We ordered a kid's meal chicken tender plate for the boys. My son didn't particularly care for the chicken and commented on how it lacked any real flavor. I don't doubt it, but I didn't try it. My wife ordered a 10-oz sirloin. She wanted it medium rare. She sort of got that, but she had a lot of complaints about it. She can be a picky eater sometimes, but I agreed with her on this one. They gave her an odd cut. It was about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. About half of it was around 1-inch thick. The other half was like 1-cm thick. The funny thing is the thick side was cooked properly to about medium rare. Perhaps it was slightly undercooked, but it was edible. The other side was just well done. Apart from that my wife thought it was burnt throughout. She tasted it and could not eat another bite. I tasted it and I could taste a hint of what she was talking about, but it was a smoky, wood flavor that I tasted. Sometimes she exaggerates a bit on the "burnt" issue. There was definitely something in there that tasted a little burnt, and not really a natural smoky flavor. Anyway, they asked her to check it immediately and she complained about it. The manager came by and offered to have another one cooked. She declined because she said it would take just as long to get another as it would for everyone to eat. He came by again and she said the same thing. She wasn't wrong, because it did take a long time to get our meal. She did not eat the steak. Finally, I tried the half-rack of ribs. It was decent. I asked for some bbq sauce and that wasn't really spectacular. Nothing was really excellent, but nothing I ate was particularly bad. The rib meat fell off the bones quite easily and they were sauced with what looked to be like Kraft bbq sauce. Overall, the food was definitely a 3/5. However, I want to really point out that Shayla, our waitress, was really excellent. The staff was really on top of things also and helped her several times, but she was constantly checking on our drinks, asking about how things were going, etc. She was really top notch and deserves the recognition. They really work as a team at the moment and it's a breath of fresh air to see that kind of service. If anything, they deserve top marks for service. I wish they had done something about my wife's steak (she didn't eat it at all and we actually forgot our leftovers because they were -- well -- forgettable.) The manager stopped by 3 times during our meal to check on things. Admittedly, twice was because of my wife's steak. If you're into this kind of food, you might be better off going across the street to Cracker Barrel. The food was just not impressive. Maybe it's just this location. read more

Well I gave it another try.. we got in an seated at a decent time again no problem there. We ordered an appetizer at 6:15. At 7:15 both appetizer and our entree was served. The manager was able to take care of the cost of the appetizer for us. The food is delicious but I don't think I would chose this for a date night especially if you have movie tickets because you will be late. Our second time to a Cheddar's chain-- different locations. Sat at the bar where service was prompt. Ordered an app of Sante Fe spinach dip, entrees of the new 14 oz ribeye ( loaded tater, seasoned rice, side house salad), full rack babyback ribs (seasoned rice, fries, house salad). Btw, we cycle and wanted the carbs. Anyway, the salads came out first and were great. Midway thru the salad the app came and before we realized it sitting there, our two entrees were set down. Salad done, tried the Sante Fe spinach dip--awesome! By the time we got to our entrees they were of course cool. My steak--ordered medium rare--was still.... quite red. Sent it back ordered the chicken tender parmigiana. That dish was good. My wife's babyback ribs needed more time slow cooking. Tender but not cooked off... if you know ribs. read more

Walked in and hostess was on a video conversation on her cell phone with a friend, so we had to wait until she was done before we were acknowledged and then we were seated. Waited about 20 minutes before a waitress showed up and you could tell she was upset. My wife an I tried to console her but got attitude. We ordered drinks and 10 minutes later waitress showed up again with croissants but no silverware or drinks. She came back and said no clean silverware so we got plastic forks.. another 5 minutes went buy and we were told they only had one beer. At this point I had enough and just walked out. I like the Cheddar's in Valdosta. Today my husband and I tried the Albany Cheddars. We were waiting when they opened at 11. We ordered and there were still no other diners for about 20 minutes. We ordered the 6 and 8 oz steak. We waited over 30 minutes to get our food, although the restaurant was not busy. The steak & veggies were tasty when we Finally got our food. We won't be back. I have been extremely pleased with Cheddars until today. I placed an order online for pickup and arrived 10 minutes early. I checked in and a nice employee came out and asked my name and said it would be out shortly. 30 minutes later I call the restaurant and am told my order will be out shortly. After 10 minutes I call back and inquire about my order and to speak with a manager. My food is immediately brought carelessly to my vehicle, and it is cold. Everytime I go here, the steak is over cooked or under cooked. They got my brother's chicken wrong and we were sick for hours. The atmosphere is great and I really wanted it to be good because I love steak, but they've messed it up more than twice and we got sick from their lack of care. This was my first time here and I left extremely disappointed and I never care to visit this chain again. My friend and I arrived here at 7 and ordered maybe 10 minutes after that. We didn't get our food until after 8 which I thought was absolutely ridiculous! The service in this place is awful. Not one person cares about taking care of the customer. We had a party of six. Four of the meals came out 45 minutes after ordering. The last two came out over an hour later and cold. Asked for a manager, pretty sure the cook came out representing the manager and asked "what the problem was?" We are in town for a graduation and stopped in at Cheddar for a congratulatory dinner. Our waitress was Kiani and she did a marvelous job being patient and explaining how the dishes were made to our 2 international guests. The manager checked on us twice and carried two fresh cookies on the house for the graduates which was a nice touch. The food: the appetizers we selected were the buttery croissants and the queso dip and both were fantastic, hot and full of flavor. We waited 40 minutes for our food to be brought to us. Somehow it took over 30 minutes to bring out the house salads. During the wait our waitress was attentive stopping by our table four or five times before our food arrived. However I was not sure how we were supposed to respond to her "Is everything alright?" when we had no food. I felt like we should have been asking HER that question. Maybe people were getting trained in the kitchen? The food itself was fine. Decently priced, but not worth the wait in our opinion. Then, a couple weeks later we can go in and it's almost like a totally different place. Last time we went the waitress was great but the food was just not good. So...much...food!! I went on a date here and we got the cheddar's fries as an appetizer. It was an overwhelming amount of delicious fries. I got the veggie platter (veggie being used VERY loosely here) and i couldn't finish it by any means. My boyfriend got a salmon/shrimp dish, and the same result. Bar area says first come first serve. me and my mother sat in the middle of the bar unattended for 20mins before I finally getting up and asking the bartender for service. She then tells me she has no clue who my waiter is supposed to be and brushes it off like it was unimportant. RB&R ha a sweet taste I was not expecting, still good. Steak as good as it gets in a restaurant. But the onion rings. YES! Still in the "Wow!
