If you're looking for home style Southern Cooking, Zaila's Place is a must try. A taste of this food will definitely evoke feelings of nostalgia...it's just like eating at grandma's! The "home of the $8 meal" Their prices are a huge bonus. The customer service is amazing (they greet customers by name #winning) and incredibly fast. Special shout-out to Tamia working the front counter. She worked to resolve a customer issue with absolute CLASS. Incredible catfish, the best fried chicken I've ever had. The best green beans I've ever had. Awesome okra. Amazing onion rings. Southern food at its best- and probably better than you've ever had. It's seriously delicious. Prices are great. The dessert at the end is the icing on the pound cake of these delectable dishes. Yummmm! Excellent wings. Cooked perfectly, as well as a good seasoning flavor in the breading. Wasn't too much breading like some places. Baby lima beans had a very good, unique taste to them. Cinnamon pound cake was very good, also. Will definitely return for pork chops, roast. Slight edge over grille house, the other top southern food option, in town. Seemed to be a little hard to get a hold of over phone until after 2 on Sunday but service was pretty fast in person. read more

First time customer here. I was greeted by a nice young lady after entering the shop. Inside was very clean and smelled delicious. The food as the best part of this experience. I ordered the Turkey and dress literally the best I have ever tasted. It was moist and seasoned perfectly not only that, but the portion was huge for the price. I went to Zaila's Place to cater my Sunday after church dinner for family reunion. I am so happy that I did. I had eaten lunch their before and the food was very good great customer service. So I asked them about catering those great Oxtails and gravy, cube steak, rice, green beans and rolls. My family stuffed themselves and talked about how great the food was and what great choice of a restaurant I had made. The food arrived hot and in plenty of time to setup. By the way we were feeding 40 family members at my house. So if you want your family raven about the food you had cater, Zaila's is the place. The price was right for the food that we had and those good old fall off the bone oxtails that we did not have go and get then cook them too. Man what a feast we had. This spot is new to me since I've moved back home and I was glad I stopped to try it! Each day is a different highlighted special. I had the everyday special because I was too late to get the Ox tail plate which is the special for Friday. I also got Mac n cheese and fried okra. It came with 3 pieces of chicken, 2 sides a drink and a piece of cake for $8. Now THAT is worth the price. I have absolutely no complaints because everything tasted great. I plan on going back to get a good fixing when I need it! And if you don't like super sweet drinks you may want to add some water but I felt the lemonade was perfect. Honestly this place reminded me of a smaller version of Carter's grill and that's what I grew up eating for good soul food. So 10/10 would recommend all the way! read more

Wow! If you want fine wine, liveried wait staff, valet parking--you are at the wrong place. BUT if you want dynamite good food then tuck your napkin in and get prepared for an absolutely great meal. I don't think I have ever had better fried chicken and the vegetables are well cooked and so tasty there won't be ANY leftovers. The menu specials change daily so you won't be tired of the selection. Been in business since about April 2019, have only stopped by for breakfast, had a bowl w/o grits, extra egg and link sausage. Incredibly warm and friendly staff, locally owned & operated, they also offer catering!
